Thank you for making it because otherwise “nothing can come from nothing!” I tried making one but didn’t quite have the patience and skill to make one I was happy with.
I have the Provolver (at the moment only one) and the Tactosy for Arms and X40 vest (and the previous Tactvisor called Tactal). Bhaptics have been great in regards to getting both mods and native support for their products, although they have more or less abandoned support now it seems (they still want to sell them to you of course). For the provolver almost no support has been added for years. While all are cool peripherals, I would manage my expectations before spending the money. The X40 is the most expensive, but best purchase of these as it has the most support and gives best immersion overall, I think. I don't have the Tactvisor, but I have the previous Tactal model which is unbearable to wear. Tactvisor should be better, but I cannot comment on that. Remember some of these devices are super-heavy - Tactosy for arms have awesome feedback, but are heavy and difficult to find a comfortable fit, they slide on the arm etc. Provolver is also cool and great for a game like Pistol Whip, but again quite heavy and not suited for long sessions unless you are Brock Lesnar - I can see them as a workout option like shown in this video. Great video by the way - I love setups like this where multiple devices are being used!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Evilkingus. You raised a lot of great considerations all should take into account before investing in all this gear I have such as weight, support, and cost of course. I thought about mentioning those considerations, but I was trying to keep this video shorter than my usual 15 minutes or more length. I have a review of bHaptics and ProTube immersive devices (not the best presentation as it's one of my earlier videos I will admit), and I think you will find I share a lot of the same opinion as yourself as far as ranking them and how well (or not) they are supported. I have the Tactal and the TactVisor by the way (bHaptics sent the new one to me for review, which I have on my channel too and thanks this reminds me I need to ad an link to it in this video)), and the new TactVisor is much more comfortable, but there are some games it doesn't seem to work in (yet) that the Tactal does. I agree that the range of ProTube natively supported games is disappointing, but I don't feel bHaptics support isn't too limiting. As perhaps a bit of an apologist/in defense of ProTube/bHaptics, the game developers have to implement the support on their end to get around things like anti-cheat freaking out and such and even after they get the devices for free from bHaptics, they still don't implement the support (Hubris and Breachers have ProVolvers and are working on support). There are a lot of great mods, made by Florian and Astien, but admittedly they can be a pain to install.
I can't for the life of me get the Bhaptics mod to work. The Provolver mod works fine - both dlls (bhaptics and provolver) are in the mod directory, I am using pre-alpha 0.6.0. Any suggestions?
Hmm… when I was using pre-alpha 0.6.1, I got a heartbeat on the X40 at startup but no reactions in game. Maybe you have the auto update option checked in Mellon loader and it’s updating to the newer version? Also, if you’re on discord, try the B haptics discord and tagging Florian and Astien (the respective modders) and have a screen shot of your Melon Loader window running for them to diagnose.
@@EndersVRcade I think it have something to do with an update to Pistol Whip, the Melonloader installer og the "release" of melonloader, according to some comments on Nexusmods. I have lost track of what is what on what "Meta" level.
Wait are you using the steam or oculus pc version? I used steam to get it to work. There might be a runtime issue if you’re using an oculus/meta version and I don’t know what you mean by Meta or OG. This is starting to sound beyond my knowledge level and I think you’d be better served on the bHaptics Discord.
I’m not used to seeing you without your Kat Walk. Love Pistol Whip and Bhaptics. Great video!
Yeah this and Beat Saber are some of the few games that don't work with the Kat Walk. It's still a lot of fun and great workout without it.
Yay! Glad you liked my maps!
