Of all the peated whiskies that I tried, this smells and tasted almost the same. It is a monster, yes! Wonderfully made. I'd always recommend this from now on.
Funny thing is, I was about to get a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail, but my wife persuaded me to buy the box with 2 glasses the other day. Wife won. No regrets.

I’m probably still more of a wine guy, red wine specifically. And all my favorite red wines are blends. So it doesn’t surprise me terribly too much that blended scotch can be fantastic.
This video inspires me to get a compass box for my next purchase and I’ll probably take it to Christmas with the family. I know I have seen the Glasgow blend at my store, so I’ll start with that one for now.

Hallelujah! Our local TW has this for $63. My first scotch as an adult was Laphroaig 10 yrs. It was love at first sip. The smoky, briny taste transported me back to the salt water marshes of Essex, Ma. The rich, pungent taste with that underlying citrus sweetness opened a new world for me. Another great review. Too funny. I saw these on sale at my local Total Wine and thought along the same lines. It’s been a long time since I had it so why not have it again. I had so many pleasant memories of it. Hoping the 2021 batch I got is good like what was experienced here.

Scott, I did the same thing going to the liquor store. I was getting the Wee beastie and then I saw the holo case with the peat monster on it. I had to take it. If anything , for the cool glassware. The whiskey turned out excellent to my surprise. Anyway, great review and happy holidays!

Jumped in the deep end with Laphroaig and never looked back. Peat Monster is what all peated, blended whiskys should aspire to be. Hear that Johnny Walker??!?!

I have heard of the Peat Monster before. I have see reviews but never tried yet. You guys sold me on this big time. I'm heading to get one today. Hopefully I can find the one with the glasses as well. Those are great drinking glasses when just sitting and sipping. Thanks guys

This is what got me on peat. I just wish it was a higher abv but otherwise delicious. I’ll need to grab a bottle again because I haven’t had it in years.

Thrilled to see you using the Canadian Glencairn guys (Or are they?). :). I have now gone through a bottle of the painted label (the one you reviewed) and the brown label (old version). Recipe is substantially different between the two. I like the brown label more but I am a huge fan of both. Really good quality integrity malts both of them. Su-lawn-juh.....and great 12 hours of Boom by the way. The Irish (Waterford) interview was my favorite :). Oh and one more thing. I got a bottle of ECBP A120......in Canada.....miracles happen!!!

Who does all the design for your posters or special events (like last week's 12 hours of Boom)? Is that you Scott? Whoever is responsible for it, great job. Same could be said about your editing (how you decided to display this Peat Monster glass for us to see).
I know why i subscribed to this Channel a few years ago and why Scott's condition was a real pain in the a..
We do our own editing, trading off. We do get some help with poster graphics

Thanks guys. Catching up with your channel. I keep walking by Compass Box because I am sometimes a Single Malt snob. Think I will pull the trigger and start with this one. Was curious how this compared, for you, with D. Laing Big Peat?
Compass box tastes more refined or thoughtful. Which makes no sense as a description but still fits.
@Jeff Mill Haven't tried Rock Oyster(Island) but most agree with you that it's D. Laing's best blend. I am actually enjoying their Epicurean right now which is their Lowland blend. Cheers!
