- Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Karen Carpenter Biography Filmmaker, Randy Schmidt
About Harvey's guests:
Today’s guest, Randy Schmidt, is a brilliant author, screenwriter and producer who’s here to discuss his brand new, multi-award winning documentary feature film about one of the greatest female vocalists in the history of pop music: Karen Carpenter, who with her brother Richard, formed a duo, “The Carpenters”, and became the #1 American music act of the 70s.
The movie is called “Karen Carpenter: Starving for Perfection”, and it chronicles not only her spectacular career, but also, what was going on behind closed doors: her quest for perfection, resulting in low self-esteem, a disappointing love life, and a battle with anorexia, which resulted in her tragic death in 1983 at the young age of 32. We hear about Karen’s personal struggles in her own voice through never-before-released recordings-and through the voices of legendary stars who knew her and were inspired by her music, including Carol Burnett, Olivia Newton-John, Suzanne Sommers, Kristin Chenoweth, Carnie Wilson and others.
The movie, which is now available on the EVENTIVE.ORG streaming platform, is a captivating, revealing, and unvarnished documentary providing astounding new insight into Karen Carpenter’s tragically short life and enduring musical legacy. Our guest, who wrote and produced this movie, is a best selling author who’s written 3 books about the Carpenters: “Little Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter”, “Yesterday Once More: The Carpenters Reader”, and “Carpenters: An Illustrated Discography”.
He’s also published 2 books about Judy Garland, entitled “Judy Garland on Judy Garland: Interviews and Encounters”, and “Becoming Judy Garland”. And in 2018 he released a great book entitled, “Dolly on Dolly: Interviews and Encounters with Dolly Parton.”

Dear Harvey and Randy -- you both really nailed this interview.
Thank you!!
One of Pat Boone's daughters also had an eating disorder but she got help and is thriving.
Thank God.
The Carpenters need to be played on the radio again. They could easily make a big comeback.
They’re huge on Spotify and Apple Music. They don’t need a comeback. They’ve never gone away.
They tried that. In 1978. And 1982. And 1985. and 1987. And 1990. And 2000. Didn't work. Any other ideas?
I love watching the young reactors on UA-cam when they hear Karen for the first time and their jaws drop…
@b1bmsgt she had the perfect pop voice. I don’t think she ever realized how respected and beloved she was.
It’s not surprising to me that the fans, whether the originals or the ones since, have ever let the Cs get far from the public eye for too long. Their legacy, their influence on performers and on the industry, the leagues of new young fans, the backstory, what’s referred to as the “Carpenters sound”, the voice, the respect , the converted, continues to bring books, films, cover bands and tribute shows including the unexpected occasional TV show storyline references, the cover albums and a barrage of
TikTok videos which we know Richard is aware of. During the early years when I was young it wasn’t hip to admit to being a fan amongst my age group. I was no doubt deemed uncool. The irony is that now it’s very hip amongst any age group to be a fam. The Cs definitely did not miss out on the social media age.
was blasting Deicide and Iron Maiden; now I'm ending the night with Karen.
Great interview, I learned a lot about her. I'm Definitely watching the movie.
I think you will really enjoy the movie. Thanks for watching our show.
A mutual music lover!!!
Hopefully we'll be able to see this documentary someday. I'll never forget that day that Karen Carpenter died. It came as a shock to everyone. My music teacher, who is pretty accomplished and had a recording studio down here in South Florida, and he's in the Country Music Hall of Fame, I asked him once who his idea of the perfect singer was and without hesitation he said "Karen Carpenter." I would have to say that Karen and Patsy Cline possessed the most beautiful, expressive voices ever.
You can see the film on EVENTIVE.ORG
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I went on the site but didn’t see the documentary listed.
I was a public school music teacher, when they announced on the radio Karen had died, I had to pull the car over and weep. She was my crush , when I was 14 and she was 20. Richard and Karen often said the "Money was in the basement" referring to Karen's warm toned low range singing voice on the records. But I must question the purpose behind this documentary and who has the most to gain from it. Everyone and their family has flaws, but not everyone has to be in the public's eye, especially after they are dead and not around to defend themselves.
@thomastimlin1724 there is no need for Karen to defend herself. She wasn’t being attacked.
Amazing interview. Randy and his team made a very special documentary. I was moved and informed. Karen is very much missed
She sure is. Thanks for watching our show. Please subscribe to our UA-cam channel and spread the word about our show 🙏❤️
I enjoyed the interview. I am a big KAC fan & only just started researching her life as none of this was known in the 70’s when I listened to her on AM radio. With the help of Randy, shows likes yours & U Tube, Karen has come to life for me. The only piece truly missing is her ex husband. Randy learned a lot about it while interviewing Karen’s best friend Freda. She made Randy turn off his recording device before she would tell him what Karen shared with her about that horrible marriage to a pathological liar con man.
Have you seen the documentary?
omg her voice was unique and beyond the the blue horizon.......we love & miss u Karen.
What did you think of the interview?
as usual....well done sir.@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980I thought it was excellent. I did not know that there was a new documentary about Karen. Like Elvis Presley, I remember exactly where I was when I heard the shocking news of her death.
@VintageLPs I hope you watch the documentary. It’s excellent. Thanks for watching our show.
Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray, kd lang... superb vocalists.
Yes indeed
@UranianSummer-xy10 that is so true. Karen had the perfect pop voice.
Karen may have been as fine a pure vocalist as anyone on the planet. Regrettably, l don't believe she realized the magnitude her career was having on people. Her memory endures forever.
So beautifully said. Thank you so much.
There's a live performance of Karen singing Ave Maria in 1978 that's jaw dropping in its perfection. It was at a concert in southern California, Long Beach area and can be found on youtube. Someone recorded it in the audience it sounds like, but even with the low-quality audio it's a stunning performance.
Karen’s voice is amazing
Ironically this interview is perfection. Two extremely intelligent and articulate gentlemen discussing this sad story in a first class, informative, yet clear and relatable way. Kudos to these guys.
Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated. I hope you will check out our other great interviews and consider subscribing to our UA-cam channel. 🙏❤️
I loved Karen's voice and it stands out like no other---loved her solo album...listen to is regularly.
I’m a fellow Karen Carpenter fan. So nice to have you among our viewers!
I’ll always wonder how it would’ve been received if it had been released at the time.
@OHsopositive people would have loved it
Bravo, Harvey! You have excellent taste in selecting topics. I've read 3 (including LIttle Girl Blue) books on the Carpenters. I still get the chills when I hear her voice. And I'll always be dumbfounded that Karen went through with the wedding even when she knew he was lying to her bigtime. Her mother told her "You've made your bed, now you have to lay in it" Sheesh. A final comment: I believe that Richard is 100% responsible for creating Karen's sound and perfecting her style and delivery. Her formidable drumming skills were all hers. I look forward to seeing this new film.
You will love the movie
Her mom was wrong.
Great interview! God Bless KC. One of a kind for sure. 💜🧡
Thanks so much for watching this special episode of our show. Please spread the word!!🙏❤️
Another fantastic interview Harvey!
"Superstar " is such a great song!
I love that song so much. I’m such a huge Carpenters fan. This interview was a dream come true for me. It’s so gratifying to see how popular this episode of our show has become. I have the best and most supportive viewers in the world!
I disagree that Carpenters weren't / aren't a rock act. The genre is so widespread that they absolutely had / have a place in it. Their music might have to have "pop" in front of the "rock" to be classified correctly but it fits under the rock umbrella nonetheless.
There has been so much scuttlebutt about who should and shouldn't be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, etc.) and I believe the Carpenters definitely belong in it and yet I don't think they've ever been considered...
This was a fantastic professional interview by both interviewer and interviewee. Super impressed by the depth of knowledge of and consideration for the subject. Props to the dogs in Randy's background for spectacular cameos as well.
I look forward to seeing the movie soon on a major subscription-based streaming service! 🤞😊
I agree. The Carpenters should absolutely be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If Dolly Parton is a rock star, then so are The Carpenters. Thank you so much for watching our show!!!
Yes, why do they think they called it Soft Rock," and the same goes for "Bread." it you can call Rap and Country music "Rock" and induct them into the superficial profit driven Rock and Roll Hall of Shame, uh, Fame, uh, exclusive musical country club...then you can put the Carpenters in, and the Monkees. Ricky Nelson was one of the first inductees, but spent the early to mid 1960's crooning sweet little pop tunes...so what's the difference between that and the Carpenters' pop or soft rock? Get real. First they took the Roll out of rock and roll, but it never left, by the late 1960's everybody was ricking, and "Rolling" a joint...the point is the name of the music keeps changing but the rock is always there, often mis-applied when trying to be more inclusive to increase profits for the museum, and yet snub the others.
@thomastimlin1724 very profound. Thank you so much.
@UranianSummer-xy10 yes absolutely
Randy expresses himself so beautifully.
He sure does. I so enjoyed interviewing him!
It´s always wonderful to learn more about Karen Carpenter...as for her solo effort-unfortunately obscure even to many fans of the brother-sister duo-, I had the honour to play its exciting Disco Tune, ´My Body Keeps Changing My Mind´ live on a radio show I hosted about rare facts from pop culture from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s show I hosted five years ago.
Loved the interview and not unlike Mr. Brownstone, I also got choked up as memories of her singing flushed before my mind´s eyes.
Thank you so much Marco for your enduring support of our show!🙏❤️
I isn’t widely known because of its limited capacity regarding geography, genre and specific audience but several years after the long-awaited release of the solo album, and djs in some of the most popular dance clubs in Miami Beach and NYC (possibly other cities) were playing a remixed version of “Body keeps Changing”’ back jn the mid 90s.
I’m sure it wasn’t commercially available and was prob done by a dj fan. I remember hearing it and thinking “WTF?”-a rare zeitgeist meeting of music and ecstasy. 😊
@bt60613 so cool.
Karen Carpenter had a wonderful voice and we loved her. YES. THAT BEAUTIFUL VOICE.
Oh yes. That voice!
I remember her songs on the radio in the 70s when I was a kid at the barbershop with my dad.
Yes her voice was definitely a big part of the soundtrack of our lives.
I am a 70's kiddie too. I loved their songs as a child.
@cocoaorange1 me too
Thank you both for a wonderful interview. It's such a shame that Karen had such issues with her mom. The one person you hope you could rely on to believe in you. Loved Karen's voice. Had I seen her on the drums earlier in my life, I would have taken my grandfather (he was a drummer) up on giving me lessons on the drums. But of course, you think as a child that is for "boys" only. She was such an inspiration!!!
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the interview. Thank you so much for watching.
The Carpenter's music lives on. Pretty nice to create music so beautiful it's played at weddings for generations!
Thanks for watching
She had great respect for good melody, the arrangements, the phrasing, the dramatic impact of the lyric, without all the more modern bombast of great female vocalist... lest we forget, she had a great music maker in her brother
Beautifully expressed. Thank you.
I've been wanting to see this Doco for about a year. Thank you Harvey for this wonderful interview!
You are so very welcome. Thank you for watching our show.
Carpenter's music should be played on FM radio today in 2024. I never here any songs by them on radio today. My generation 60 years olds and up have come out of the disco and pop sucks movement. I missed out on the Bee Gees and Carpenters. We are ready to listen now!!!
Who needs FM radio? We’ve got SiriusXM, Spotify and Apple Music!!!
Uh.....they kind of went out of style in, like, 1978.
@TheLarryBrown sorry but I disagree. The Carpenters music will never go out of style for me.
Excellent. I just saw the movie last week. You always do well prepared interviews and Randy made it flow by being an articulate communicator. I loved the movie and it is such a delight to see this timely interview, couldn't be any better. Keeping the dog in the background added the right touch of whimsy for such a serious subject matter. Thank you.
Thanks for noticing the dog!
At least the dog stayed quiet.
@cocoaorange1 yes thank God
Excellent interview. Two very articulate people with a passion for Karen Carpenter. Hope I can figure out how to watch the movie.

Terrific interview. I didn't realize how much Richard controlled the earlier TV biography. Superstar is my favorite Carpenters song as well.
Yes Richard totally controlled that film as executive producer
What a moving and insightful interview! Harvey, you never fail to inspire us and get the best out of everyone you interview!
Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated.
I am happy he has done so much good for Karen Carpenter. CT OWN
60s & 70s radio music was a wonder mix, something for everyone. We had so much to learn about ourselves. For example, 1969, as a kid we were not allowed to drink from a neighbor's kitchen cup because they had cancer! Imagine trying to comprehend an eating disorder. Excellent, heart felt interview, thank you both.
I’m so happy you saw this interview. I hope you will help spread the word about our show.
Another fabulous interview Harvey There is no other singer like Karen She was Sublime! This is a nice surprise and treat for me Harvey as I have been listening to Karen's songs again lately
I’m delighted that you enjoyed the interview.
You are an excellent interviewer. This was interesting, and I look forward to watching the documentary.
Thank you for your very kind comment. That means the world to me. I hope you will subscribe to our UA-cam channel and spread the word about our show. 🙏❤️
Wonderful interview! I THOUGHT I knew everything about KC and learned a thing or two today! Thanks 4 exploring Karen Carpenter❤
Thank you for sharing my passion for Karen by supporting our show!!
Great interview Randy. Can’t wait to see this documentary and the title is perfect!
You’re going to love the documentary. I cried. Thanks for watching our show.
I love watching the young reactors on UA-cam when they hear Karen for the first time and their jaws drop…
She certainly had a jaw-dropping voice.

Excellent interview again, thanks. But actually, it was your words that made me cry. Keep up the good work! ❤🩹
I’m deeply touched by your vote of confidence in me and our show. Thank you so much!
Karen Carpenter had a voice as smooth as Velvet and angelic. I was listening 🎶 to the radio 📻 🎶 when it was announced that she passed away 😢 💔 I went into a state of sadness ; so I sang 🎶 one of her songs 🎵 🎶 at my girlfriends wedding. It went very well. ❤
Thanks for sharing
Good interview!
Thank you for watching!
excellent interview!
Thank you so much!
Karen Carpenter possessed one of the greatest voices in the world of music-She is still missed by her legions of fans.
That’s for sure. I absolutely adore her music.
Sad that she had low self-esteem and didn't see/hear her as her fans did. She didn't find love or loved herself -- but we loved her.
We sure did.
Her mother was an absolute horror to her. An absolute horror. Her brother and husband were equally cruel and horrid
@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879 that is just so terribly sad. She deserved to be deeply loved and treated like gold.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 it’s Judy garland story only 15 years later. The horrors both Judy Karen and Natalie wood went through is enough to make the oceans fill up with our tears. There was a hole in all their hearts through neglect
@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879 thank you for your heartfelt comment.
Karen suffered from an illness that continues to be little understood by medical professionals let alone society as a whole! Thank you Randy & Harvey for emphasizing Karen’s brilliance and multi-faceted talent !!❤❤
Thank you so much for watching our show
It is not an illness, it is a choice .😮Don't claim it is! Low self esteem is not a disease. Cancer and diabetes is.
@a.e.7988 eating disorders are mental health problems
Such a great interview Harvey. I love Karen Carpenter. She is my favorite female singer. So sad the anorexia Karen suffered from. . Makes you wonder. I remember seeing an interview Marie Osmond did where she talked about being pulled aside when she was a teenager and they just started the Donnie and Marie show. She was told to get rid of ten pounds fast. She was already thin....and they wanted her thinner. It is terrible the media puts celebrities through the perceived mirror of beauty that their fans try unrealistically to attain. So sad. I saw in another interview where one of Richard's girlfriends talked about how jealous Karen was of the women in Richard's life -- like they were encroaching on their relationship and she saw them as a threat. Makes you wonder what the dynamics of Karen and Richard's relationship was that led to her disease as well.
It’s become abundantly clear that Karen’s anorexia stemmed from feeling unloved by her overly controlling mother. Watch the documentary
Interesting how as a huge fan of the Carpenters Randy struggled with the name of his own movie. Great conversation. Your interviews remind me of a blend of Brian Linehan’s subject knowledge and Dick Cavett’s presentation.
That’s a huge compliment. Thank you so much!
I don't care for the title "Starving for Perfection." There was so much more to Karen than that type of characterization. Also, to state that Richard was replaceable simply isn't true. Richard has a beautiful voice that splendidly complimented Karen's. He was always singing harmony around Karen's melody. Look no further then the "Music! Music! Music!" medley to hear his wonderful ability in singing with her. Their harmonizing had a dream-like quality. He was always arranging their music in a key that worked best for her. There's a lot to be said for finding/tweaking/composing the right material, including the orchestration of things. Richard helped his sister SHINE. I have serious doubts (from their early days) that Karen would've even pursued music without him. I would've loved to have seen them create musical scores together. Karen expressed an interest in this (for her and Richard) and I think that would've come next down the road. For me, it will always be Karen and Richard together.
I agree that Richard was absolutely the mastermind behind The Carpenters.
Absolutely true. I hate when people concentrate on her personal problems (it's not your business!!!, leave them alone!!). And saying that Richard was replaceable is nonsense! Karen is wellknown because of the beautiful music and arrangements Richard wrote. I love Karen more than any other vocalist in the World, but her solo album she did without Richard is not even close to the Carpenters. Richard and Karen are the one, that perfect blend which made their music devine.
@veronikanadtochii2844 i agree 100%
Her voice was like butter!!!❤ gone too soon 😢
So true.
I just had to revisit this.
I love the Carpenters so much!!
Miss her
Me too
I saw them in Philadelphia in 1971. Incredible
Oh how I wish I had been there with you
Where can I see the documentary?@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980
Karen wasn’t just weight-conscious or obsessed. She was obviously ashamed of her body. All you need to do is see how she dressed onstage. She tried to cover herself up with “granny” dresses covering everything up.
@grouchosays very true
Harvey, listening to Suzanne Somers name in the movie reminded me of her passing last year, would love if you could interview her husband Alan Hamel, they had such a long relationship and marriage
Believe it or not, Suzanne and Alan agreed to appear on our show together, but their schedules didn’t allow for the interview to happen before we lost Suzanne. I’m devastated about that. I’m hoping to get Alan on the show at some point.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I'm sorry they couldn't appear together, I was devastated when Suzanne passed, been watching her podcast on you tube for a long time, hope you can get Alan and possibly Suzanne's son Bruce, by the way Harvey my name is also Suzanne 😀
I think Karen being in the spotlight definitely had a major role in her eating disorder. When a newspaper reporter describe her as chubby in an article, that is when her eating disorder began. Although I definitely agree that all the other factors played a major role also.
It saddens me so much
As a dreamer of a teenager I used to want to be able to sing like Karen; so envied her talent and thought her lovely and still cannot understand why she didn't see and hear what I did,
She was so immensely gifted. It’s such a heartbreaking tragic.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I wonder if any of her friends approached her with love in order to help her.
Unfortunately, the issues (sexism, exploitation, etc.) that confront young women in the music industry as in Karen's time remain a problem. Arguably worse in the Social Media era.
So true.
Excellent interview. Thank you. I’ve been a fan since I was 9, in 1972! I’m yet to read the book or see the documentary- but I’m keen to! I know of someone who has struggled with anorexia. Finally, it was revealed that it was linked to childhood trauma. I’m wondering whether any clues like this might exist. On another note, I’m curious that her father was not mentioned during the interview. I wonder what role he played in the family dynamics? Again - I’ll need to read the book. Thank you both again.
Karen’s anorexia is all about her mother. Her father was not a dominant parent. He was a quiet timid man. Thanks for watching our show. I know you will really enjoy the documentary.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 thanks so much!
I play their greatest hits CD in my old Toyota:)
Love them and their music!
Hey Randy
Hey Rose!
I just started to get loads of carpenters youtube popping up because i watched a Tori Holub video.. amazing how similar their voices are.. a biopic candidate?
That’s a great idea!!
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I am in the agent group where I would listen to The Carpenters on a cassette player in earl 70s, mono one too, a favourite album was one called Now and Then.. .
Weyes Blood sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter. If a movie was ever made about Karen, she'd be perfect to play her.
That would be amazing
Honey, velvety....smooth like silk.
So true. What a voice!
Karen was close to her dad for the same reasons both were overlooked by agnes , She was also sad for richard not getting the attention
What did you think of the interview?
I think it's true when wise ones say---> everything was the way it was supposed to be. It's hard to give up the wishes for things to have gone differently. In the case of Karen Carpenter, I wish she had pulled away from the whole lot of them and gone off on her own, had had that rebellion or independence within herself. Just as I wish the material in the second half of the Carpenter, hugely successful to be sure, canon had been better and more worthy of her world class talent, "Hurting Each Other"...? Sure it made the charts, but I mean, come on.
I loved every song she sang….yes, even “Hurting Each Other”. She could have sung the phone book and I would have loved it! But yes, I agree that the universe always unfolds the way it’s meant to.
As someone who has always felt unloved and has self-esteem issues, I understood Karen. People don't get it but, Anorexia was a way for Karen to control something in her life.
I am so sorry you have felt unloved in your life. Please know that I appreciate you very much and am sending you love and hugs. ❤️❤️❤️
Her mother is to blame. She never gave Karen love. Her horrid husband was cruel to her. Her own brother was a terrible person
Their last album Made in America was one of their best. Wilson Philips first album was really good.
What did you think of the interview?
I think Richard sold the apartment buildings to another real estate, a few years ago, but I could be wrong.
Interesting
Damn $400,000 was a lot of money back then.
It still is
If it was Richard Carpenters ideal to push Karen up front then it must have been evident to him early on that she possessed the star quality that the group needed. Why would he then turn around and be jealous of her celebrity? Especially when she made it a point to always acknowledge his contributions to the group’s success?
Good point.
Of course he was jealous. So what? I'm jealous too. There wasn't a person on earth that wasn't jealous of her. Anne Murray, Toni Tenille, Olivia Newton John, John Denver, John Davidson, Rondstadt, Dionne Warwick, Neil Sedaka, Ella Fizgerald, all of them, and everyone else, was jealous of her. That doesn't mean Richard got back at her. He knew she was his cash cow, he's going to be nice to her. He's going to give her anything she wants and never tell her "no."
@TheLarryBrown I wish that were true. I sure hope so. Family dynamics are complicated. I think the problem for Karen was her Mom, more than her brother. Karen’s death is so terribly tragic. I so desperately wish the family had done more to save her.
@@TheLarryBrown I highly doubt those artists were jealous of Karen Carpenter. Though I’m sure they had admiration for her talents.
@curtismichael4703 I am sure every vocalist admired her amazing gift. Her voice was angelic
The Carpenters were NOT "from Downey'. They were from New Haven 2 streets over from my cousin. Parents moved to Cali when they were teens. If she had stayed in New Haven, married an office worker, welder, trucker or mailman and had kids young she would be alive today. Unknown but alive. Harsh, but self-starvation is the domain of unhappy white girls with no kids. A tragic story to be sure. I met her a couple of times as a kid in NH and the pictures I have reflect how "bony" she was, which is what we thought then, the idea of a rich girl starving themselves was completely unknown to working people in the 70's. Never heard of it till she died.
Anorexia has nothing to do with being white or rich or famous. And it has nothing to do with whether or not you have kids.
Karen had more talent in her pinky finger than all the Madonnas, J-lo’s, Beyoncé, Swifties, put together.
Absolutely true
What bothers me is that the dad didn't try to help Karen more.
Well we’ll never really know what actually happened.
stil 9 songs from the karen c that hasnt been realise only excist as bootlegs
Such a shame
He mom was a witch with a b and Richard was selfish
So very sad.
I watched the documentary. Mostly good, nothing really too new. Some good interviews in it. Not sure why Carnie Wilson, Suzanne Somers, or Belinda Carlisle were in it at all. They really didn't add anything to it
Carnie Wilson is an executive producer and also had an eating disorder. Suzanne Somers was a dear friend of Karen’s. Belinda Carlisle was also a good friend.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Suzanne just did the "Space Encounters" TV special, she barely knew her. Belinda just said she liked the Carpenters and had an eating disorder
Dam I wish you could have got Paul McCartney or Elton John what we’re hearing now is everybody from Micheal Jackson to Alice cooper thought she was the bomb ❤
We’re working on getting both Paul and Elton on the show. It will happen!
