Interesting and enjoyable as always. Grateful for the content you still manage to put out. And still rewatching your back catalogue. 🤭 Take care and stay well.
What a pleasant surprise for my coffee break time. Good to see you and whilst we know you from all your narrowboat content I think your easy going style of presentation allows you to present different subjects that are just as enjoyable. I look forward to more in 2025 when time permits.
Hi Chis. It is good to see you again. I have also been "absent" for a while. I had a stroke that left me paralysed on my left. I am slowly getting my life back together again. Not an easy road to travel. Take care.
Such a fabulous place, and the orange rock and blue skies remind me of Sedona and monument valley. It looks to be absolutely fascinating, and well worth a visit. I’m glad you had a good time with your family. You certainly are a busy boy - great that you could do some ‘fitness training’ on the bikes! I’m guessing cycling isn’t a big thing in Oman! Hope work is going well and your next trip home is warmer. X😊
Great to see you on your adventures Chris. Having visited Petra and Amman I was so happy to see your vid. Once been, would love to return. Inspired dear Chris.
Hi Chris! Good to watch a new vlog from you. Lovely country there in Jordan. I thought NetZero was a dial up😂. You’re now full of wisdom, hence your cautiousness crossing the ledge. That only comes with age. Has nothing to do with courage. Young are lacking wisdom and do quite crazy things that cost them. Just saying since I’m at the age of wisdom. It will be good to have you back next month. Be well😎
(I’m seventy-three, don’t get me started on politics Chris😂. Me and my mates are catching the ferry to Calais and buying a dinghy.) Fantastic desert scenes, good to see you marra, cheers!
It's been a while. Yes, I'm working away at getting fitter--lots of good advice and help from my physio, along with working out at the gym. It's paying off. I can now feel muscles that I haven't felt since all my surgeries. I aim to get cycling again this spring. Out here on the Pacific coast, we actually don't get a great deal of wind, so wind power isn't all that useful. Solar, yes, but though we're at about the latitude of Paris, it's often cloudy. What we do have in abundance is hydro-electric power. Still, that isn't the answer to everything. It's wisely said that the electric car won't save the planet--but it might save the auto industry. Politically similar to the UK--except that no party really has a plan. It's interesting to see places that I probably won't ever visit myself. I did see a bit of the Middle East a few years ago when there were still small cruise ships around (before the SOLAS 2010 regulations bankrupted the small ship industry). Some of the places I visited weren't all that safe back then--rather less so now i expect. If you keep on filming, I'll keep watching! Cheers!
Good to see you Chris, hope you had a lovely Christmas and new year mate. " You will own nothing and be happy " WEF strategy. It's also not about the generation of the power it's also the storage of that power? Did you realise that when it's above a certain wind speed the windmills have to be shut down, otherwise they get damaged? The mainenance program expense alone is staggering. So it will not be cheaper electricity, far from it.
Chris! So good to see you again! Nice place where your daughter is working. Loved the tour! OK, Net Zero... in my humble opinion, that's most likely the collective of the politicians who don't understand what it is, how to accomplish it reliably, and really just want to steal as much money from everyone's efforts to make it work as humanly possible. Opportunistic ner-do-wells who think that they are the Lords Of Man, and thus should be allowed to steal whatever takes their fancy. Nuclear powerplants would do more, faster, but protestors who can't tell a power plant from a weapon have done their best to derail any real progress on those. Neither here nor there. Can't avoid the politicians, and most of the ones nowadays can't even figure out what pair of socks go best with their suit. In any case, I eagerly await your next vlog. --Dan
Hi Chris great video, only half way through and questions that I’ll forget lol.but those Marks you spoke of don’t they represent their name or tribe. I’ve heard of them from somewhere. Do you follow itchy boots a Dutch lady. She’s just been in Baghdad it’s beautiful there, totally not what I imagined. I reckon you’d like it also. Also said abt the media. Hope we get more of your travels through time. Nice to see you back for however short a time. Cheers K. 🙏😁 PS I have found an article my great grandfather kept dated 14 August 1912 ( get the date) nz scientists said that coal would cause climate change in the next century and with stats. I’ll leave you to think abt that one. I’ll figure how to send you it.
I worked in Amman for a while at a Corrugated cardboard plant, just at the front of the offices was a big sign saying Syria this way (never went) however, I did take a car and drive to Elat via the dead sea, all on my own! do you think this would be safe to do nowadays Chris?

I did not force the food down him 😂
Your grandson wearing the shemagh was too cute. Could be the next Lawrence of Arabia.
Edit: BTW, UK neighbor Norway is essentially net-zero.

So are you saying that the solar panels work better when the sun is up? Crazy
I think you got confused about feet and meters!
