- Ruben Salvadori challenges the dramatic aesthetics of conflict images and the expectation of objective truth by including the photographer in the frame.
Ruben Salvadori is an Italian media professional and photojournalist known for his project ‘Photojournalism Behind the Scenes’, through which he challenged the dramatic aesthetics of conflict images and the expectation of objective truth by including the photographer in the frame. Ruben has used photography to fulfill his anthropological interest, working on visual studies across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and America. His work has been published and presented internationally on media outlets such as The Atlantic, CBC, Business Insider, Die Zeit, Stern, Internazionale, European Photography. He currently lives and works in New York City.

Why this talk hasn't reached more people is beyond me. Everything about it made me question reality as perceived in the news. It was pretty alluring to see that some of these conflict pictures sre set ups that support the editors' Weltanschauung.
Very insightful and thought-provoking. Thank you Ruben!
