Knowing nothing about this game I chose lizardmen solely due to the fact that the Argonian was my boy in Skyrim

I'd imagine that includes a significant portion of time loading and AFK. I personally had like 70 hours on Skyrim the week it came out, and I know I definitely didn't play 10 hours a day.

Yeah, but Badgers build was primarily focused on campaign tactics, where Doomstacks work, it does not work nearly as well for multiplayer

Main way to tell how prone a unit is to rampaging is to look at the icon for it at the bottom of their stat card - yellow means they won’t rampage until below 50% health, red means there’s a chance they’ll rampage from the get-go.

I've made it a bit of a habit to check all of the abilities at the bottom of the statcard and read exactly how they work. The tooltips aren't the most straightforward but you get a feel for reading them soon enough. Like the yellow icon says it gives the Rampage debuff but is disabled while the unit is above 50% health. So once they go below 50%, the unit then gets the red icon's ability and they now have a chance of going nuts.
I don't know what that chance is though, whether its a lot of damage or any instance of damage.

A unit I didn't expect to become one of my favorite units. They do a lot of damage and the combination of speed/poison makes them so hard to catch. Plus they take out giants very quickly oddly enough.
In my first campaign fight with Chaos, their Throwing Axe Cavalry charged in at my infantry and wailed away knowing my ranged units were limited, and limited in range: I let them hit me until they ran out of ammo and then charged into the infantry :D

I had picked up the game recently and was trying really hard to figure out how to work Lizardmen. I caught on to some of it but I appreciate the video, it pointed out some ideas I hadn't seen or thought of yet.

Short version of Lizardmen guide: Do pretty much whatever because they're OP as fuck.
It takes 3 stacks of Skaven of equal tier (which uses 3 times as many generals and 3 takes times as long to recruit) to take down 1 Lizardmen stack reliably.

Fighting against lizard men early game just sucks
Well, what do you expect? They are like dwarfs, but instead of gunpowder, they have dinosaurs.
Casket of Souls, Khalida with a ton of archers and they melt before they even get to your frontline.
Liam Carnahan imagine trying to rush enough anti large units on the clan mors campaign....
Was playing as the high elves in campaign. Got absolutely shit on by a Lizard men rush. Didn’t even know what fucking happened. Had like 6 elite units and they were all dead or running away before I could even get my flank off.

I played The Magnificent Sven in 1988, the first appearance of lizardmen in Warhammer. They've come a long way since with dinosaurs, artillery and 'cavalry', but remain one of my favourites.
Lizardfolk are the first faction I really dedicated to in this game. Loads of fun with little micromanagement as I got used to the game. And as you said, it's easy to build an army since most of it is going to be Saurus Warriors.
DUDE. Great guides. I've watched too many of your Warhammer II videos, and they're all enjoyable. Keep up the good work!
Rampage really isn't too big a problem, as all lords and heroes have the cold blooded ability to stop it, which also recharges fairly quickly. Just put saurus units at the front, shields preferred, support with kroxigors, put salamander hunting packs behind them to deal with enemy ranged or do massive damage to melee blobs as your infantry holds them, then either flank with dinos or send them in before your line's meet the enemy's. The key is to make the fight short and bloody, maximum damage in the shortest timespan possible, Lizardmen can do sustained combat but it's not their strength and increases the likelihood they rampage the longer it goes on. Keep that in mind and you'll absolutely steam roll campaigns.
I would actually argue that Kroxigors are made for flanking. They RIP through enemy infantry like there's no tomorrow. Sticking them with your front line is just a good way to tie them down and essentially negate their brutality.

In campaign I love using Kroq gar and having an army of nothing but Sarus with zero upkeep

To shield or not to shield, that is the question.
Carnosaurs are not only great at distracting large monster units, they are good at disrupting formations and disrupting range units as well as destroying artillary engines, no I do not mean the arty team I mean the weapon itself because how the carno fights, the arty will get demolished in the process, and do not feel bad bad to send a carno straight at an archery line, that dino is fast enough to nullify the arrows and able to keep up to the point the archerers are better off leaving the battle, just make sure to keep the dino away from halibards

Very helpful. I just started my Lizardman Vortex campaign.
I've watched hours and hours of your videos. One type of content that I've been looking for, but haven't found, is a sample army for each faction with a breakdown for how to play into its strengths, similar to the way you end your army breakdown videos now. I'd love to see a series of videos like that if you ever get around to it, maybe with an early/mid/late game campaign stack example.
Best strength for Lizardmen is the money they can make and putting out every unit at level 9 within 40 turns. Recruiting level 9 units is really powerful, even cohorts can handle any other lvl 0/1/and even some 2. They can also hire Slann heroes at level 40! and minor heroes already able to have best mounts.
I like how you didnt even mention that skinks have aquatic. It can be a big deal in the offchange youre fighting in a swamp!
Its because you will be mostly fighting on dry land. Even if you will be fighting in the water, still doesnt make them any stronger. Aquatic means that water has no effet on the speed

I think this vid will need an update. with the last two dlcs, this faction got a bit more variety to offer... air power is quite impressive with the ripper dactyls and the dread saurus puts the other tanks to shame :P

... Just kidding, the video was fantastic (though the thing about Norsca is technically true). I just wish I had that one for the insult contest. One of my favorite things about the Lizardmen is that they are like the Empire, but better; they have an answer to everything and can be used in a variety of different play styles with success. This should be made even better once they recieve their lord pack. They're also the Lizardmen, the oldest and most powerful race in Warhammer, the ultimate epitome of order in the world, dedicated to exterminating the lesser races not part of the Great Plan and the ultimate destruction of Chaos itself. So yeah, what's not to love?
Oh, and I found your guitar channel a couple weeks back, and I must say it was a pleasant surprise! Nice job on that as well, excellent videos. (Not that I would expect anything less!)
I hate to ask but after Norsca would you be willing to redo some of the older guides like Vampire Counts? Don't get me wrong they're good but the quality of these guides really just shot up compared to the older ones.

Lizardmen VS skaven in a nutshell

The Slaan as a race went as the second biggest bad asses during the End Times as they burned out their minds holding back the entire fucking moon those little rat bastards the Skaven brought down on Lustria. I fucking hate those rodent bastards.
The greater epic last stand was Abhorash along with the remaining strongest and most loyal Blood Knights who's honor kept them from failing to Khorne, fighting side by side with his old friend Giles de Briton, aka the Green Knight, along with the mightiest and grestest of the Grail Knights alongside Brettonia's first king, as the very world ended around them. There were many brave and honorable action as the world came down, but the Fathers of Brettonia and of the Blood Dragons fighting back to back is epic.
Good video as allways, I would have like to see the mounts included on lords and legendary lords to see the difference.

Thanks for this detailed and inspiring Video! Im here since i have a strange campaign with Last defenders. 1. The map is owned by the Highelves of Lothern whch have 138 settlements, controlling the big djungles, the Lustria, Lothern the darkelven Lands, North Bretonia and Norsca. 2. I must beat them for winning my campaign 3. The Lizard are strong in infantry and cav and monsters but the Highelvenarmy often include3-6 Dragons and or Phoenix. 4. How to counter dragons with Literally no reasonable bowman or shooters 5. I see only the way to include tankish bastilododns and stegosaurs. The Problems are A) They are excisivley costly B) You have to buld up your city to an extrem high point to even recruit them or by them with global recruitment which is exsessivley costly. So my question is, how to win against Highelven army which are Consisting of 6 Infantry 4 cav 6 Bowman and 4 Dragons and Phoenix typically?

The "rampage" reminds me of the intelligent quintaglio dinos from a book trilogy where they enter the state of "dagamant" which makes them go berserk and they can only calm down when they kill prey or each other
Rampage is a downside? As long as the dinosaur is demolishing the enemy army I don't care. Let it attack whatever is in its path. while I use my elite units to focus important targets.
Mate your guides are awesome. I wish there was a mod to swap out the vanilla help section to soundbites of your voice detailing a chosen unit.
I used to almost always pick Kroq-gar on Grymloq, but after watching this i decided to give Lord Pope Pepe on his Stegadon a try. And holy shit was i surprised how much fun that was
Disagree on the low damage output of Saurus. Having 4 less melee attack isn't nearly as significant as their massive 52 weapon damage. It more than makes up for it. Your hit chance is a percentage chance equal to 40 - the difference between your melee attack and their melee defense. In the case of Swordsmen vs Saurus, that's a 36% hit chance against the Swordsmen's 44% hit chance. 52*.36 = 18.72 damage for the Saurus. The Swordsmen meanwhile has 28*.44 for 12.32 damage. That is 150% of the Swordsmen's damage output. It's true that against enemies with very high melee defense or armor, the Saurus will falter a bit, but I don't think low damage output is a weakness of the Lizardmen infantry. Their biggest weakness in the infantry department is a lack of a solid armor piercing option to use against other elite armored infantry. Some weaknesses that I might have included in the weaknesses category instead of low damage are a lackluster ranged contingent and a narrow selection of viable cavalry and mobile threats (pretty much limited to the Carnosaurs in terms of viable mobile threats that can keep up with cavalry as the cold ones are largely lackluster).
Lack of anti armor, what? Bro, half of the heavens skink priest reduces that and youre alligator warriors are all anti armor. I have more issues dealing with walls with lots of hp than anything with high armor as a lizardman player. Like the fucking high elves. They dont have lots of armor but their fuckin arrows and high leadership make it a pain in the ass when you use a large number of infantry or calvary in a siege
Lustria Lizardmen are under direct rule of the remaining Slann. Southlands Lizardmen have no Slann leadership, but are still active if not more independent. Finally the Hinterlands of Khuresh is said to have “Snakemen” and a “Blood Naga Queen”... with this info I theorizer that those remaining Lizardmen of the far east have mutated and devolved into corrupted version of themselves by the powers of Chaos.

As a beginner with lizarmen, it's not their unit are expensive (if we see their quality), it's just lizarmen haven't a great economy if we compare to other faction.
Please post this video again, but with a still of Sterling Archer screaming "RAAAAAMMMPAAAAAAAGGGEE" every time you say rampage.
