@@CR12221 Realistically speaking, if a gun is being custom made at thousands of dollars, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to customize the handgun. Especially because a solid 80% of business is marketing alone. That's where Staccato got the majority of their business from despite how expensive they are. If they did what Stealth Arms does for their pistols, they'd probably get *a lot* more sales, just because fancy builders make people go goo-goo-ga-ga on websites. Look at every auto maker website on the planet. They've got a big fancy builder. It's because people buy more of expensive products when they can "Customize" that product more.
@@CR12221 I completely understand but at that price point…having very few personalization options is pretty damn pathetic in my opinion. That’s just my opinion though. Take it with a grain of salt.
@@ChristopherGoydich-cb6bd As far as I understand, slamming the slide down on a chambered round is what causes damage the extractor. On an empty chamber, there is no way for the extractor to go under any undue flex or wear. When dropping the slide on an empty chamber, its usually the sear & hammer that gets worn/experiences undue stress. On a normal 4-5lb trigger this is pretty much negligible. However, if it's on a race gun with a 2lb or less trigger job, that's already on the edge of reliability. From there you'll experience problems from dropping the slide on an empty chamber. Again, this is as far as I understand.

"Staccato's a Gucci brand". lmfao, uh no. It's a Gucci price on something similar to a Timex. Based on your original post on this, I'm confused. If you wanted a "Duty" type gun to mimic what your LE students might carry the P seems a better fit. If you wanted a custom 2011 or double stack 1911 then Atlas or Hayes or any of the custom builders would seem to fit those criteria better. I highly doubt this is going to be something in between. Good luck with it.

Good lord, that’s expensive for a “custom” gun (a/k/a production gun chucked into a laser engraving fixture before hand assembly) with a few mags and a Holosun dot. Nearly $5K is getting into “gunsmith-built 1911 with a 50-yard accuracy guarantee” territory… for a Gucci duty gun.

Ben, Great job putting companies on blast for the discount code/special pricing BS. I hit up your pro shop often because the prices are good and consistently stay that way. Ben, have you thought about buying an Archon type b? Given the unique design and price point, Id be curious to see how it stacks up for semi serious comp shooters.
I wouldn’t really say Stac is Gucci. They’re like the baseline for 2011s. Nighthawk is more “Gucci” and so is Accuracy X. Stac is just a well done mass produced 2011.
