A big highlight to mention from this interview and the Fueltech as a company is the customer support. This guys will help you tirelessly it's does not matter where your at or what day and time it's. if you are at the track and they see you have their ECU they will just go to you and help you simple as that, I am a witness to this just mentioned.

Never have I felt like I needed anything additional than I already have... Quite a few people have actually switched to fueltech because they don't like how haltech is laid out... I run fueltech on my car that makes 24mpg on pump e85 and is daily driven automatic. I run turbo and nitrous on it but literally every body can drive it definitely a low horse power car that still has vvti electronic throttle body and all its factory components. Anybody can drive this car. I endorse fueltech on that one
When yiu gonna have or are you ever gonna hace an interview with RocNYC you went threw alot of NYs car dudes interviewing them but No RocNyC i wouldnt have even herd or seen the guys if it wasnt for him i stunbled across his channrl and just never stopped watching hes right in the middle with all the drivers all the peopl around that dude is in the know. You should for sure interview him it would be cool to know more of his story im sure alot of ppl would watch too hes growin.
I have a FT550. Stock turbo bridge port FC Rx7 Time attack car. It's awesome, but if you need to use CAN with other products like AIM Sports, it's not friendly since the CANBUS is locked. Love it though, Hopefully they bring a 700 style model that is a few grand cheaper.

Australia is the hometown of haltech, Motec, EMtron and New Zeland is house of Link, so can you imagine how hard is talk about FT here! but when Street out Law came to race against Australians all cars with fueltech didn’t loose one race! Anderson Dick say this one time, when they try get in America they listen from guy that “ecu has to be a box underneath the dash and separate screen” performance world is super conservative they dont open mind to a new think.

Good luck trying to take your car to Maxxecu hub dyno and have their engineers tune your car. Or calling them in the middle of the night from a race track to help you.
@@tetracontrol i live in belgium so i dont think that i can take my car anyway to their dyno and before replying that think a little like i said cool product but expsensive imo, i use other exspensive brands also because of certain reasons. but at maxxecu they also have a dyno they located in sweden so for people around them its also availble for help. and their respnse is also verry good. i follem them also because they do cool stuf but i can have an opinion right :)
@@FourStrokesPerformancepeople that know will always say: best ECU is the one you have a good tuner for it, unless you are a enthusiast and wants to learn by yourself. Talk with your tuner and work with what he is comfortable with.
I've never heard FT address why they avoid offering knock control. Is it the cost of development or do they think it's an inconsistent crutch that users shouldn't rely on?
This is ongoing trend / evolution for modern standalones... Makes sense given the gauge clusters of OEM's are all digital these days, so why have a headless system when you can kill two birds with one stone.
@ I also noticed he said it’s compatible with Mac. Does he mean it can be tuned with a MacBook? If so that is something I have not seen with any other platform.
@frosty6.2ls I wonder if they simply changed from having an installable software like legacy platforms, to a web browser based UI like alot of other devices have (router's, printers, etc) making it OS independent. Smartphone apps in many cases might appear as an installable, but can be a a glorified browser in cases where its based on progressive web applications, but I don't own one and so it's just an assumption.
FuelTech has done this for years. I run FT550 on a couple of cars. Badass ecu and ends up being cost effective since screen is built in. Simplifies also.
It's the first ECU from the new platform. I think they will make a cheaper version later (700 has a lot more than someone needs for a more casual racing or street car), but I think it's something for 1 to 3 years ahead maybe.
@ let’s agree to disagree. They are known to have trigger issues. They don’t support engine triggers as well as other ecus. They can’t run their own injectors out of the box without external controllers where other ecus can. So they are far from perfect
@@350gtboi only the big ones with low impedance (520-1020 lb/h injectors), the smaller ones designed for road cars or cars with normal power don't need drivers (80-240 lb/h).
Imagine being a backyard UA-cam channel and building your own k-series mr2 just so happens that you're on the fueltech Dino and you make 1500 hp and get a compliment from one of the most prestigious people in the industry as a badass engine builder😂😂

Fueltech is great for Drag Racing, I've found that Haltech and Link ECU have more feature for someone who wants to do road course racing.
Hence, the new ft700 which will have more customization than the other units
