i love the trilogy. do i think it could be better? yes, but i still love it, especially homecoming. it's such a good introducing movie for a new superhero that's loved by everyone and they couldn't have done it better. y'all can complain all you want, but just take a look at how new superheros are introduced now, e.g. America Chavez in MoM - a great character that was misunderstood by MCU writers. Her character is supposedly the sole reason of the movie's existance, and yet we learn absolutely nothing about her, we are introduced to her problems without going deeper into them - why couldn't they just give her a smaller part in the movie which would later set her up for her own movie? but that's what MCU did with spider-man, introducing him in civil war very beautifuly - enough time to show his character and not steal the entire movie. now y'all go around saying you don't like how either was introduced, and that makes me think - y'all just hate to hate, because at this point nothing seems to work out okay for you guys. but yeah, i really wish people would start appreciating the trilogy and MCU spidey
I think Homecoming is under appreciated, its the first time Spider-Man has been in a universe with other heroes existing in live action. Marvel & Sony wanted to take advantage of that by showing how a teen would view this world which i think is done well. Peter's arc is also misread as people think its him becoming Iron Man Jr when really its Peter learning that being an Avenger doesn't make you a hero but instead being a good man is what makes a hero which i like and its a unique take compared to Tobey and Andrews. If we just got a rehash of those movies, it would get repetitive. FFH is the way it is because of how the Russos wrote Spidey in IW and Endgame. FFH is probably my least favourite in the trilogy because its Peter repeating his arc from the first movie but its not the worst movie ever. NWH obviously fixed the issues from FFH through having a much darker story and Peter learning the iconic line from a dying May. Sorry for the rambling but overall i think its a good trilogy with a weak middle but a good introduction and a great end. Hopefully, Holland's next film continues how we left off at the end of NWH.
I didn't initially like Homecoming all that much early on. Some of it was due to the popular "Stark's little buddy" complaints, but other reasons included personal opinions on certain story beats or decisions made by the creative staff, which haven't gone away even now. The same could be said about the other two as well. I remember people enjoying dunking on others who didn't like the porn joke, but there's no *need* for a porn joke in the first movie, plus another porn joke in the second movie, and a safe sex joke in the third. It's not a prudish thing, it's a "the writers are capable of doing better" thing. Other various things brought individual scenes or character moments down in similar ways. What makes people laugh is subjective, yes, but a scene or moment is lessened *because* of such things, not enhanced or improved by them. Tell jokes, but smart jokes. Despite that, as a whole, I like where it went and ended as a 3-part story, and retroactively liked Homecoming more after I knew where it ultimately led.
I think spider man never had a “good” trilogy. Lots of people considered rami movies as the definitive spider man trilogy but I think these movies are kinda goofy and don’t hold up, if spider man 1 came out today people would be making fun of it. The only legitimately good movie in the rami verse is spider man 2, but that doesn’t mean the home trilogy wins. I do think the first movie “spider man homecoming” was good and is honestly my top 3 favorite spider man movies but every thing else after is kinda mid, and yes I mean no way home. I hate how people glaze it so much when in reality the only good thing about the movie is when Andrew and Tobey show up, for the most part the movie is kinda lazy and doesn’t get good until aunt may dies. It’s like the writers knew there spider man sucked so the had to give him a soft reboot in the last 10 minutes of the movie. But honestly I think the best trilogy is Tobey bc his films actually connect to each other and u don’t have to watch other movies to get the full picture, like a lot of toms movie heavily relie on the back bone of iron man and a lot of events that happens throughout the mcu where Tobey story is very much it’s own thing and stands on its own. But spider verse definitely is a contender for the best spider man trilogy but it’s not done yet and if beyond the spider verse isn’t good we’ll across the spider verse is much worst. With that being said the rami trilogy is still the best spider man trilogy.
