Thank you for this conversation. As a 32 y/o black male who is married, I've fell out of much of my previous "friends" who defended R. Kelly, Tory Lanez, Bill Cosby, and now Diddy. @@willowgreen7263my sympathy is with the younger generations, I am 70 this year, this behaviour was known to exist especially among the aristocratic and elite circles because they sent their young children into the care of strangers at boarding schools. This behaviour went on but it was hidden because it was considered vey harmful and deviant, both physically and psychologically . Capitalism and the worship of Power Control and Money are the modern day Gods and our slave masters are the Captains of Industry. This is a very insidious social disease that comes directly down the line from the Command chain at the top of that food chain. If Society WAKES up and GROWS up this gross abomination will wither on the parasitic vine that it grows on.

@@zazabrown732Emphatically No! That’s an erroneous statement and not factual. Hip hop and rap are two separate things. When I was growing up Kool Moe Dee & The Treacherous 3 made me want to be a college student/professor..their vocabulary was facilitated with multi syllable words! Their lyrics were well thought out and they developed different forms of RYHME meter. Their records weren’t filled with cussing or swearing and no misogyny! Their subject matter clean. Even Run DMC rhymed about going to University. I could name several other groups like the Funky Four +1 More…Coldcrush Brothers..there was a female in the group (Funky 4) who was one of the dopest emcees to grab a mic 🎙️!!! When hip hop left the EastCoast and went South/West it literally degenerated into “rap”!! In the South; they combined the 808 Bass with strippers (Luke 2 Live Crew) MC Shy D etc…their vocabulary was kindergarten and nursery rhymes! They glorified sex and pimping! This was completely different from the B-boys & B-girls in NY & NJ! Check Melle, Afrika Islam, Grandmaster Caz etc…the West coast began glorying violence and affiliated street gangs…then the industry made money 💰 and started exploiting Black artists. The East coast put out the “Self Destruction” (BDP) Movement; to exhibit Unity amongst our people in 89. Shortly afterwards “gangsta rap” began to proliferate the airways like NWA. NWA was pushed to silence PUBLIC ENEMY! Our people need knowledge of self and our enemies understand this. Just like the caller said; in the South their mentality was light years behind NYC/NJ/Philly.

I thank the men who spoke up about the Catholic priests so many years ago. Their actions gave abuse victims all over the world, the courage to speak out LOUDLY.
Before that, victims were vilified while the abuser smugly victimized more and more people. I'm glad people are speaking up for themselves, with proof of what was done to them. It's a new day.

Damn, damn, damn….You have really been resonating with these things that have been heavy on my spirit. I am realizing now that we have been dealing with a constant “hum” of flagrant abuse of life in every stage for quite some time. The kids are raised by adults who excuse SA for many of the same reasons an entire country justified the dehumanization of an entire people. We have been drinking the Koolaide so long that people are addicted to it. Yes! Some very intelligent young sisters have been saying for years that WE need to talk about the sex addiction in our community. It is the men…who use the most aggressive language on Earth to describe sex… It is the women…who will tell her daughter to stay away from the boys and not to be fast…yet she has never been married, and has multiple children with men she should NEVER let near her kids. Why do we continue to devalue our bodies? Because our souls were sold long before we were born.
The world made a deal involving us…but not INCLUDING us in the planning, nor the profits. This is good news, though. This means that whatever that deal was…it is NULL AND VOID…BECAUSE WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN SELL OUR SOULS! We have to first exhibit the presence of mind to get rid of the bad guys in our community. We may not be able to get rid of the cops….but it would be easier than you think to start choosing the lives we want. Get these predators out of our art…AND out of of our friggin’ beds, too. I said it! I could pick them a thousand miles away…those of us who said Cassie getting that money didn’t look right to them….the same people who unfollowed Meek Mills when HORRIFIC tape surfaced of him clearly being assaulted by Diddy (please…please…do not listen to that tape…it has been days and I don’t think I will ever get it out of my head).
The jokes I have heard about not only Mills, but all of the male victims has really grossed me all the way out. Entire channels that seem devoted to making a felony into pure entertainment are gleeful to the point of psychopathy. We put ourselves in the colosseum each time…and giggle with glee at the demise of each gladiator. This is to reaffirm that we are not worth a dime to ourselves…yet the world saw enough value in us to traffic us across the world.
Let’s talk about coddling these men as they sit back and let our communities burn down…our businesses…their own children…Killer Mike (a man I once had much respect for….stay tuned🤷🏾‍♀️) gets an opportunity to speak for us on a world stage…and begs the white man to get rid of CHILD SUPPORT!? Get the hell off my line, brother! Let’s get some mental health facilities out here to deal with our dirty secrets…our sex addiction….our survivor’s guilt, our inability to regulate emotions due to physical and spiritual abuse. If the worst thing you can imagine is a Black man being put in jail for SA, yes…I am talking to you, people! YOU need therapy…if you laughed at ANY of these peoples pain…I am for sure talking to you. If you have uttered the words “everybody was grown”….I am definitely talking to you. The time of this regressive mindset has ended. Time to grow up, my beautiful, beautiful people!❤️‍🩹

The Christian church has ceased to be a moral spiritual force in the black community. All the handclapping shouting singing and speaking in tongues has only made the black community hyper emotional and offered no answers to the complexity of living in our time.
We have to go beyond being emotional and start being more rational. Handclapping and shouting is not spiritual moral and emotional growth. The church must provide more than that. It must provide healing and guidance not singing and dancing.

Healing can only take place where honesty and compassion are present. We black folks have a great capacity for love but a miniscule tolerance for honesty.
Too many young black boys and girls are molested and raped by the black men in our communities and families. Let's see how many people can admit and be honest about that.

    • @dpeon242

Organised religion is full of pedophiles and perverts. The church is NOT the answer and has never been. We need to educate children in the schools about emotional, physical and sexual abuse. So they can recognise it from early on. Unfortunately a lot of dysfunction and ignorance is normalised in the household and community so children are raised with these problematic beliefs. Look at how the black community (mainly black men) view Russell Wilson, that is a good example of pervasive ignorance within our community. We need to look at ourselves first!

Black people need to understand that Sports and Entertainments are NOT the only careers or ways of making a living. These two industries are very saturated, and as a result, predatory abuse of vulnerable people is out of control. What happened to being an educated professional like Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer etc... We need to shift our focus for a better future.

if you think your culture rests on what entertainers, music labels and producers are doing, that's your small mindedness.

With all due respect, I don’t think you all were listening to the caller from Arkansas. She did not compare Diddy to Emmitt Till. What I heard her saying was that there is a culture of trauma that causes people not to be as outraged as the should be when situations like what is happening with Diddy come about. She did ramble some but she was giving examples of how this current “norm” has developed and why we (collectively) seem to accept/excuse these negative behaviors.
