We are loving the new Lightning Lane! Yes it's basically old fastpass but paid for 😅 but it's better than Genie+ for sure!

With Jeannie floss, it was every two hours or the moment you checked into your most recently booked ride. By 1 PM you could easily have been on six or seven rides. And the failure with this is you can’t stack them up for those who don’t wanna go there early in the morning or unable to go there early in the morning and want to have a pile of rides ready at the end of the day. That’s the major failure of this system. I do agree we like the fact that you can book Animal Kingdom and pay for it, which is the cheapest and still get rides and all of the parks if you have APs like we all do.

@GoofyGuy-WDW we were NEVER able to get the scan in process to work on Genie. And nobody could confirm one way vs the other. Some people said the 2 hours is always the limit and other people said once you scan in you get another. But we always had to wait 2 hours. You are right, stacking isn't a thing, but I'd take a guaranteed 3 attractions I want over potentially missing them, plus battling first thing in the morning to get the ONE ride you wanted stunk. So, it may have been a good system prior with genie, it just never worked out where we could hit another one till the 2 hour mark. We only used it a handful of times with friends and family, we never wanted to use it on our owns much because it felt like it wasn't worth it. But I'll take your word that it worked that way! Just too bad it would never work like that for us. I do think this system is also MUCH easier to understand once you get going with it. Especially if you knew fastpass prior. 😃 (all my opinion at the end of the day, however)

Really good to see the new system in action, and definitely made our mind up we want this next time we go! Great video! 😊 Hope you're both staying safe in the crazy weather!

@CraigAndJay-sw7qd It was WAY nicer than Genie+ and it was great to ride so many rides! Glad you made up your mind on it, it'll be amazing for you. Thankfully we didn't get the brunt of the storm, but we have had lots of storms and rain still. 😯

With the new system most families aren't park hopping. We need a clean clear video of someone trying to go to a busy park and seeing if they can get everything done with the pass.

So since we did most of the big rides, minus FoP, you could definitely add the others later. There wasn't many issues finding times in Animal Kingdom. But a busier park, and one of the others could be a different story.

@@Dillon.Thomas I appreciate your comment and completely understand your perspective regarding the Animal Kingdom. I realize that my previous message may have lacked clarity. What I meant to convey is that it would be interesting to see this experiment conducted in a busier park such as Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, as Animal Kingdom is often considered a half-day park for many visitors. Thank you for your understanding.

@@rfs056 Ya, I think the other parks could be a better sample, but AK is the only park without the tiers. So I liked the idea of starting there in general. Otherwise you may only get to pick one of the main rides you want to do depending on what you're looking for. I like that we were able to pick 3 top tier attractions, where other parks, since they have tiers, you have to wait to open up the extra selections if that makes sense.

When I heard of this new system and was reading about it, I found it somewhat confusing. Thanks for this video as it made the use of this much more clearer. It does sound somewhat similar to the old Fast Pass system. I used Genie+ in tandem with DAS, cause the DAS only allows one reservation at a time. Using LL and DAS sounds like we will be able to get much more done when our non-AP friends are down.
I was going to ask if you could do one ride at AK and then leave to the next park - so thanks for explaining that you cannot. What's the difference in price between the parks? Is it worth it to always start at AK? I don't see that happening, but is the pricing that much of a difference?
Safari is one of my favorite things to do at AK, along with the fantastic Lion King show. Did they close off Dinoland yet? I read somewhere they started to remove trees around Dinosaur.
I've been on ToT during rain, but I am pretty sure they shut it down when it thunders because of the possibility of lightning.
Would love to see Rock change over the Queen!
I've seen some TikToks on how bad the rain got down there - but at least the main part of the storm didn't hit.
This was a fantastic explanation - thanks. Good to know you can do re-rides - I was wondering that. Be well.

I feel like Fastpass+ was such a simple system (I thought). Now since Genie+ I think it's just gotten more confusing on all of the stipulations/rules. I REALLY enjoyed this LL system, though, and I heard Genie supposedly worked pretty similarly minus the pick 3 to start. But we never got the option to pick a ride after we scanned in, only after the 2 hours so I don't know lol.
I saw MK at like $25 and AK was $17, so probably similar ratios to whatever Genie would have been. But you do have to select all 3 of your first attractions at your selected park, then it opens up after you scan in to your first. I would say just pick the park you want to get the most attractions done at, still, but if you're planning to hop a bit, I would really weigh your options!
We actually didn't go over there since we had other plans, but we will check next time! We were on a mission to beat the rain and try the park hopping haha.
Wouldn't the lightning just add to the aesthetic of ToT?! Really bring it to life haha
I think Nicole would die if they made it Queen, she went through a big Queen phase. Still loves them, but not as obsessed anymore lol.
Also, just to clarify, you CANNOT select the same ride if you already picked it on LL. We attempted to see if we could, and it states "you've already selected this attraction for the day". Hope that helps!
