For anyone doing all three on a 2001 Siverado ext. cab 4x4, skid plate off, plasic underside cover, air cleaner cover, and air intake tube too. Plan on buying new quick connect fittings for the front cooler. Mine were so rusty the lines would not come out. They are only $10 a piece, so well worth it. Also, purchase the jiffy-tite disconnect tool. It's primarily for the lines above the trans, those are tough and that tool is a HUGE time saver. Did this on jack stands in my garage and had very little issue routing the new lines in from the back to the front. Did not remove any crossmembers, or anything else underneath besides the plates.
2000 Astro. I removed the upper outlet line to drain the fluid before dropping trans pan. Now it won't tighten back. I got an 18 line wrench, fits good, feels tight, but line still wiggles. Did I lose a part? It was very hard to loosen in the beginning, needed breaker bar, maybe I just need to put a break bar on to tighten it? scared to.
Is the line (tips) causing the leak? The old like ends look fine to me. Seems like there'd be an o-ring or something inside the rad-side fitting that has gone bad? Is there? (My lower trans line is leaking at the radiator fitting. But I don't want to replace the entire line if it's a simple o-ring inside the fitting that's gone bad.)
Transmission Line Connector is name of the part, there are o-rings and a tension clip that hold line in place, those parts range from 5-15 a pop.. people on reviews said they tried swapping o-rings without success. I wish I had seen this earlier as I am about to swap lines, and one was rusted out right at fitting so certain the o-rings are bad too.
Mainly watched this to figure out how the clips come out of the fittings. But out of curiosity I looked on their website to see how much they wanted for the transmission lines that go to the radiator instead of the radiator & separate cooler, they wanted $175 for the same dorman lines I got my local oriellys for $39 for both.
Is everything the same if it's a Duramax? Mine is an 01 Silverado Duramax. Also as the other guy asked how long does this take if you know what you're doing and if you don't know what you're doing?
Thanks for the video! Just placed an order from your attached link. Im trusting that they are of good quality . I do have a question however, Mine blew out on the road, i notice it when my truck would not shift, i coasted and pulled over and noticed a puddle of transmission oil and saw the drip. Do you think my transmission is ruined?
I am confused! Why is the line on top of the radiator is connected to cooler? Is this another GM engineering mess up? Transmission should send hot fluid to the top of the radiator. Radiator cooled fluid should leave the radiator at lower port to auxiliary cooler for additional cooling and than returns back to transmission.
Vehicles with the tow package have an auxiliary trans cooler and one that's built into the radiator. They are plumbed in series so that the fluid is essentially cooled twice. If you don't have the tow package then there would only be a line into the radiator and one out to the trans.
I got a dealership put a rear main in my truck they packed the transmission out a week later it blew oil everywhere all under my truck but it it's not near the transmission the transmission is dry in the transfer case is dry it's farther back how far is that oil line I'm not sure where the oil come from cuz it transmission and the remaining I mean the rear seal on the transmission is dry in the transfer case is dry it's farther back so where did the transmission oil come sorry I was talking into my phone
Looks like you skipped part of the video so I can’t see how you got the lineup in there. You started it and started to twist it and then stop the video and the next thing I know it was most of the way up there. No help.

I used a sawzall blade with the 2nd tooth broken off the tip to remove the little clip. Thanks for the Video guys.
Good idea.
Awesome you are the best. Helped me out so many times. Your instruction skills are second to none. Thanks
Now do the other two lines please.
2001 Suburban, 360k miles. Great vid! Thanks for the tips.
Great video, exactly what I was looking for. Good info at a good rate without bs
Great instructions. Didn’t assume us unskilled people knew the simple things

+Eric Sauverwald Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Anytime. Your video made so I could repair my truck. I now have no more leak.
You just made my day so much easier Thanks !
This guy makes it look 100x easier
Nice job on the video, concise and to the point.thank you.
Can you give a link to the line clip tool you mentioned. Thanks
How did you tape off one end of the line, put it that end in towards the transmission and ultimately connected to the radiator?
You make that look so easy to change up

How many hours did it take because the camera changed scene a few times

What kind of vericle is this again?
When I took the connector off the side of radiator I lost the Threads to screw the connectors into. Any help is appreciated
@trq Do you have a video on 97 k1500

one hour vs all day .
i am not bragging because i am the all day guy . lol
Thanks for the video! Just placed an order from your attached link. Im trusting that they are of good quality .
I do have a question however,
Mine blew out on the road, i notice it when my truck would not shift, i coasted and pulled over and noticed a puddle of transmission oil and saw the drip.
Do you think my transmission is ruined?
Was it toast?
No sir it should be ok .
Great video great presenter also
thanks for not showing the trans connections
Have you found a video that does show replacing those? I seem to have lost the threads inside when taking those connectors out
I like how he skips the entire part of him getting it turned
unable to find the correct p/n any where in your vid or online at your store. thanks for vid though

yeah, the video is very confusing. He shows a external cooler connecting to the radiator which isn't correct.
@@BadmanTru Mines the same way. 2007.5 vortec Max

I was just looking for a way to snake the long lines back
Would a 2009 suburban be the same process?

Man I wish you guys had a video of the other 2 trans lines on this truck! Shit I feel I should send a tip for even this video!
Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team. 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Why don’t you show both ends of the lines? You didn’t even show or tell where the other ends of the lines go???
Hey men good job
Yo is he the same dude with 1a auto?!?
👍👍
2011 Silverado looks to be same inside. Grill different but rest look same. Fitting on cooler is not same in 2011
Looks like you skipped part of the video so I can’t see how you got the lineup in there. You started it and started to twist it and then stop the video and the next thing I know it was most of the way up there. No help.
How the living hell does anyone with adult-sized hands get the little clip back on the transmission end of the line in a 2002 silverado?!
I had better luck removing the whole nut with a 19mm or 3/4 socket and then installing the clip when the line was down
Do a demonstration on 99 1500 Silverado 2wd
Thanks in advance
Ya I don't have a cooler
you put new line in, but left OLD O'RINGS in place. Not a good habit to get into, plus you did not check for burs on new lines
