The hardest part was trying to get lines back into trans. Had new fittings too Would not go into trans two days no room to get hands in. Fishing lines in was not bad
At the back of the transmission.... Which is the top line and which is the bottom line? I only have to replace the bottom line. The top line is all good. Awesome video by the way 👍👍👍👍👍
Tranny Rubber line is much easier replacement option especially if your dealing with a vehicle that’s rusty to the pint of the lines leaking that means it’s aged to the point of just going with rubber lines double clamped onto where there’s a chunk of good line at ea end won’t rust on ya again that way to .
Just buy the tool that spreads the retaining clip so you can pull the line out. The dentist pick method is backwoods mechanics. The jiffy tite removal tool keeps the clip in place.
If the pick works perfect, every time, why waste the money. If you think about it, I’m sure there are things in your life that you don’t go out and buy the most expensive item..
Thanks, man... This lets my old ass know what to expect. Kind of got weirded out when I saw no threaded fittings. Lol

@@jimbob1096 yep, not a fun job at all.
Thanks for posting. I have to do the same job. I removed a couple lines from a local junkyard for practice. Nice to see I did it correctly.
Thank you for sharing your time and expertise. What if your lines do not come out after you have removed the c-clips.
They should come out. Might take a little more force then expected.
Great video, helped me out a lot!
totaly worth buying southern cars. zero rust usually. i grew up in michigan. never buying a used northern car ever again.
Thank you your video help went well

I was hoping to find out where the top line went and where the bottom line went from transmission to the radiator and transmission cooler.
Hay very good video guy ! Are those part # good for 2002 Silverado 1500 - 5.3 v -8 ?
My Tahoe was not 4x4 and video did not help me, but good video 👍 on explaining.

Wish I knew if it was a 4wd & if that ever made a difference. The oil cooler lines made a big difference
Yes, 4 wheel drive. And yes, more stuff in the way.
Can these lines being replaced without oil loss ?
You loose very little fluid. Just enough to make everything slippery.
@@RustBucketRepair Thank you for your quick answer
