  • This video is about my experience taking the ACTFL OPI (oral proficiency interview) and how to prepare for any kind of speaking test.
    Part of the video is my experience and the kinds of questions I was asked. The other part are tips.
    Tips start around 4:43
    Here is the full handbook that explains exactly what the ACTFL OPI is testing: bit.ly/2UGT5RA

    This was amazingly helpful. I’ll be taking an OPI for Korean this spring, and had never heard of the test before this week! It’s exhilarating to know that I’ll receive an assessment of my speaking skills, but I’m a bit nervous. I have a couple of language partners, so look forward to practicing in preparation for it. Thanks for the great tips, and I love your hair!

    This was a suuuuper solid video. Thank you for sharing the info! Especially the car role-playing question. Without thinking about that ahead of time I would definitely stumble over an answer. Great to have a better idea!

    I'm currently trying to study for the OPI and need to get an advanced mid or higher. Any other advice for those that need to get in the advanced range?

    Did you take opi test or opic test?I need to take one of them, and I'm not sure which one to choose. Also. I've heard something about a proctor with me while the interview. Does it mean that a real person has to be with me while taking it? Someone was telling me that, so I'm confused. Thank you so much. Your video is good help :)

      I took the OPIc but I have friends who have taken the OPIc and the OPI. For either one you need to have a proctor. The way it works is, the day you do the interview you have to have your computer camera facing you so that a proctor from a different location can watch you while you do the interview to make sure you’re not cheating in anyway. It doesn’t matter if you do the OPIc or the OPI. It should be the same. For the OPI, the interview will be by phone and for the OPIc it will be just by the computer.

    Do you know how much is the test ? And how much time you have to get prepared ?

    • @LetsLanguageTogether
      @LetsLanguageTogether  3 роки тому +1

      It’s either $108 or $165 depending on the version you take. You can take it whenever you want so you have as much time to prepare for it as you need!

      There are a lot of different places to take an oral proficiency test and the best one depends on your goals. Some job applications or programs might tell you which one you have to take.
