I don't speak any french actually, only basic terms and phrases so it was difficult to understand rapid speech, this was the case on Quebec only. In Montreal, it's more common for people to speak and understand English if that is what you're more comfortable with Unfortunately I don't have resources for travel ready quebecois on hand, but there should be plenty online!
Thank you for your nice visit of my home town. Next time, you could climb Mont Royal to see the view of the city. There are some nice parks like Parc Lafontaine. Oh ! In Quebec city, there a great restaurant next to Chateau Frontenac called "Anciens canadiens". It's the building with the red roof in your video. The food is prepared in the old fashion style. And don't forget their mapple pie !

Just wondering if you had any issues with communicating in English there? I heard multiple stories of people getting upset if you didn't speak french. I'm travelling to Montreal with a friend next month and we both don't speak french am really worried about it.
In Montreal, no issues as most people spoke English too! In Quebec however, it's less common for them to speak English so it may be a bit more difficult to communicate there
I stayed at a BNB by the Montreal museum of fine arts and the Guy Concordia bus/subway which was super convenient! It was 10-15min to central downtown Montreal/old Montréal and also accessible to nearby spots on my itinerary (plateau mont royal, st Joseph's oratory)
@@annietimeanniewhere12 You summed it up pretty well. I would only add to go enjoy the amazing bagels from Fairmount or St-Viateur bagel shops. If you enjoy music, there is also a TON of free music shows/festivals to enjoy during the summer in the Place des Arts area.

I’m from Montreal and suggest that you avoid april. Can be cold, rainy and and the buds are not out, no flower beds … it’s not a good month to visit Montreal. Plus the city is a little bit dirty from winter thaw. May, june, september and october are the best months. July is OK too but can be very hot and humid and there’s lots of tourists.
There are many affordable and reliable airbnbs just outside of old Montreal which I would recommend looking at! Ours was just by the George’s vanier station
Yes, the direct bus is the 747 bus right at the airport! It's an $11 ticket, valid for 24hours, I believe it's separate to the weekly passes actually. The airport fare is different from regular fare
For posterity : You can use any of the passes for the 747, except the Evening Unlimited. So : 24h Zone A 3-days Zone A Weekend Unlimited (Friday 4PM to Sunday 11:59 PM, all network) Weekly/Monthly Pass Zone A If you do not take the 747, you can use a regular $3.50 Zone A ticket.
I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country. We took the Orleans Express, 3hrs each way, for $117 CAD round trip 😊 we just stayed in an air BNB in Rue Saint Marc!
