If you want to rent a BIXI, might as well pay the monthly subscription of $20. It gives you unlimited and free access to bikes for as long as you want. You just have to dock it every 45 minutes to start a new free ride. It's great! Just remember to cancel the subsequent month. You can also take an electric bike if you want to take it easy, but there are no free rides on those.

Thank you ! I had wanted to go to the look out just above the Big O. Sadly it was closed. They were supposed to reopen this year, however the govt announced they will be replacing the roof. So not sure if it will be open to the public this year in the end.. The Vans skate park seems like it’s top notch. There was also outdoor rock climbing activites there as well..😅. So much to do in the city !

Thanks for recommending Old Montréal, when some travel hosts poo-poo the area as being touristy. Well, I don't mind the touristy elements because I focus on the history and architecture. And I loooove the restos, bakeries and historic houses that are museums much worth visiting. The Old Port is wonderful, including the lookout and la Grande Roue. That Ferris wheel was constructed for Montréal's 175th birthday in 2017 -- and I missed several chances to ride it before the pandemic, so I'll remedy that this spring.❤🎡❤ Other neigborhoods that I must visit again are le Plateau, la Petite Italie? la Petite Patrie, NDG, Hochelaga et Griffintown. I hope I have time to revisit Atwater market and to see the beautiful animals and marine life i side of the Biodôme. Merci!✌🏼

Le Village au Pied-du-Courant is a great place to chill, have drink, listen to some music and much more... i highly recommand that place... best spot to watch the fireworks

I’ve long had a fascination for Montreal. Some years ago I had a stopover in Toronto and stayed there for 4 days but I would have preferred if it had been in Montreal. Btw. The clock tower is nothing like the “Big Ben” (which is actually a bell) Tower😁

It’s a little cooler during the fall but we have been getting great September weather over the past few years. There are fewer festivals but the rest of the activities are still available, plus, there are fewer tourists compared to the summer months. @@travels_wright I went with my boyfriend in the winter of 2014 I believe and I loved the atmosphere and how secluded it was (walking to our room felt like a spa). It also had the biggest bed I've ever seen that was extremely comfortable, old brick walls, a fireplace, jet tub and was situated downtown by the St. Lawrence River. I paid extra to have breakfast and mimosas in bed and I'm planning for us to go back this year in the fall :)
Wow, sounds like they had great amenities when you stayed at the hotel. The location is super ideal as well. Very central to the touristic area. @@travels_wright Yes, that's when I'm planning to book us! They also have a rooftop terrace where you can watch the fireworks although we didn't do that last time but we'll probably have dinner there this time. It's quite expensive but I recommend the King rooms for a special occasion.

I love Montreal, but I have not visited there since a youngster. Thanks for the fantastic update. My only criticism is that they should use laser shows instead of fireworks, since fireworks contain toxins and pollute the ground and water, bioaccumulation.

Yah, I call it the orange circus as I struggle to get away from rue Ste-Catherine as I walk from west to east. Single-file walking makes me fume, BUT I respect the city's need to fix its streets and do renovations. And I do love rue Ste-Catherine still.💕

That’s actually a very good question. Like all hotels it really goes by season some periods will be higher than others. Most hotels in the downtown and old port region will be a little more pricy to stay at. So if your goal is to save money, AIr bnb could be a great option. I did a full review of the Honeyrose Hotel. It's a gorgeous walkable city..... I'm here right now. And I can tell you, I'm absolutely functioning alright, not being able to speak French. Montrealers are very welcoming and they help me out!

@@travels_wright Yes, very useful! That underground shopping center looks wild. A similar thing is in the Taipei metro and goes on forever. I'm from Ohio. My motorcycle is a Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.

I’ve long had a fascination for Montreal. Some years ago I had a stopover in Toronto and stayed there for 4 days but I would have preferred if it had been in Montreal. Btw. The clock tower is nothing like the “Big Ben” (which is actually a bell) Tower😁
Definitely make the visit! You won't ne disappointed. I agree that Big ben tower is a little more impressive to see :p

It’s a little cooler during the fall but we have been getting great September weather over the past few years. There are fewer festivals but the rest of the activities are still available, plus, there are fewer tourists compared to the summer months. Nice! November is definitely a cooler month, but as you saw, there are still quite a few indoor activities to enjoy in the city. Thank you! Very much appreciated . For the Christmas season, I believe (La Grande Roue) is still open so this could be a nice activity to take part in. I would also visit the Biodôme as it’s indoor. Place ville Marie is normally nicely decorated with lights during this time of year and also has a connection to the underground mall in case you want to do some shopping. Thank you for posting! I’ll be taking a group of 40 students to downtown Montreal next month for a day tour on a stop over back home to South America, I’m quite excited. However, none of us speak French 😢 can we survive with just English? I took note of some of your suggestions to visit. Thank you so much!
Wow amazing to hear! I’m sure you and your students will have a good time. I wouldn’t worry so much about the French especially if you’re in a touristy area. Most people are bilingual and can accommodate you in both English and French.

I highly recommend staying at l'Auberge du Vieux-Port... it's my favourite hotel in the world :)

@@travels_wright I went with my boyfriend in the winter of 2014 I believe and I loved the atmosphere and how secluded it was (walking to our room felt like a spa). It also had the biggest bed I've ever seen that was extremely comfortable, old brick walls, a fireplace, jet tub and was situated downtown by the St. Lawrence River. I paid extra to have breakfast and mimosas in bed and I'm planning for us to go back this year in the fall :)
Wow, sounds like they had great amenities when you stayed at the hotel. The location is super ideal as well. Very central to the touristic area. Autumn is an Amazing time to visit because of the changing foliage. No doubt you’ll have another great time. Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check it out 👍🏾
@@travels_wright Yes, that's when I'm planning to book us! They also have a rooftop terrace where you can watch the fireworks although we didn't do that last time but we'll probably have dinner there this time. It's quite expensive but I recommend the King rooms for a special occasion.

I love Montreal, but I have not visited there since a youngster. Thanks for the fantastic update. My only criticism is that they should use laser shows instead of fireworks, since fireworks contain toxins and pollute the ground and water, bioaccumulation.
Perhaps that may be the way of the future ! Thanks for watching. It would definitely be worth making another visit before the summer is over.

Yes! A lot of the indoor activities are still open. Even the Ferris wheel for example is still open. Yah, I call it the orange circus as I struggle to get away from rue Ste-Catherine as I walk from west to east. Single-file walking makes me fume, BUT I respect the city's need to fix its streets and do renovations. And I do love rue Ste-Catherine still.💕

Where’s a good mid priced hotel?
That’s actually a very good question. Like all hotels it really goes by season some periods will be higher than others. Most hotels in the downtown and old port region will be a little more pricy to stay at. So if your goal is to save money, AIr bnb could be a great option. I did a full review of the Honeyrose Hotel. It's a gorgeous walkable city..... I'm here right now. And I can tell you, I'm absolutely functioning alright, not being able to speak French.
Montrealers are very welcoming and they help me out!
@AhhhSukeSuke Absolutely ! Within Montreal you will always be able to find bilingual people. Especially in the downtown sector. The know it’s the season for tourist as well so they will try to accommodate. Hope you’re having a good time so far ✌🏽
