0:48 I totally agree with that list, especially #6 in winter 🥶😎 Last summer I climbed the Mont Royal at 5 am (to see the sunrise at 5:30). It was magic! ✨🌄
Always enjoy your videos on Montreal. I am in Montreal now for a holiday! My second visit after last year, which was supposed to be just one trip. Visited Jean Talon today and walked all morning through Mile End, Plateau etc! Looking forward to discovering new areas of Montreal in coming days!!
Have been following you since Covid and love your travelling videos. I am actually visiting Montreal next week for the second time, since a really good friend of mine lives there and this got me hyped up so much to see the city again! Much love from Germany
19:24-19:33 Riding by the Lachine Canal was always a favourite activity of mine to do as a local, and it offers some of the nicest views of the city imo. I just remember a few years back at this timestamp there didn't use to be condos there and you would have some of the best, close-up unobstructed views of downtown from there. It makes me a bit sad that that view is gone now (and there's a lot more people in the area now too when it used to feel more like a hidden gem of the city), but it's still a great route that I enjoy :)
I would do research on that old restaurant you first went in. I believe it may have been in the movie. "The apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz ". I wouldn't call that a lake in Parc LA Fontane , I would say a pond. Lol In 1968 the engineering students from McGill University, mathematically figured out the light system on the cross on Mount Royal. So when it lit up at night the lights would show a ? Mark instead of the cross. Mount Royal and Central Park NYC are the same landscape designer. . Mount Royal has an even more country feeling in the middle of the city than Stanley Park or central park.
Beautiful. Really enjoyed this video! We arrive in Montreal tomorrow evening. Michiganders here. Thank you for the recommendations. My husband has a foot that is a pain in the butt. I think bicycle riding is a perfect idea. Thank you!
With regards to locking your bike at the first stop, you may know this already but that is a low-security lockup attaching only the wheel to the rack. Acceptable for short stops, mostly only if you can still see your bike most of the time. However, a thief could easily detach the wheel (especially if it is a ‘quick release’ latch. What you might come back to find is your U-lock attached to only the wheel after they take the frame and everything else. If you HAVE to use this style of rack that doesnt allow for locking of the frame, use a cable lock attached to the U Lock, and wrap that part around your frame. The most efficient and effective way to lock a bike in a city is to slide the ULock around the frame and attack directly to a street sign or bike rack. Not all racks allow this though, and it would be good to see cities phasing out the style that forces you to lock only your wheel because theyre so close to the ground.
Love the video! I'd also add that montreal is filled with so many beautiful landmarks, and especially beautiful European styled churches. There is the notre dame basilica of montreal, saint patrick basilica(these two are found in downtown, and are close to eachother), and the saint joseph oratory.

We had a great time in Montreal and Quebec! Your info was very helpful. I did learn a couple of useful things I might add: 747 bus to the airport from same location is around the corner from the drop off. Literally same grounds (directly across from the main doors). Also, if you are staying at an airport hotel the pick up location is literally up one floor from the 747 bus. Also, if it is a holiday the IGA grocery is probably going to be closed.

It may be just that builders have to get exceptions passed through city hall, or maybe the zoning is different - that I'm not sure about.
As a fellow Montrealer, I believe you did justice to the city's travel guide! Yet I suggest you learn how to lock a bike properly. Do not simply hook your u-lock to the spokes of your front wheel to a bike rack. Lock the front wheel which is more solid. Even better, lock the front wheel and frame to the bike rack with your u-lock. MTL is known for bike theft!

MTL is so beautiful. If legally allowed, the remote US workers from NYC/Boston would move to MTL. So they keep the US job but pay less in rent while enjoying the metro living life to the fullest. Not being crowded is a huge plus.
, exemples... à suivre anormaux en réalité.

Why state the country after Montréal ? How many Montréal are there in the world ? Sounds like "Paris France "
There is a Paris, Texas.
Tourists from other countries often search city name + country name. Since this is aimed at tourists it helps discoverability
Well, there's actually a small town called Montréal in France.
Last year I was in Sicily and went to a mountain town called Monreale.
MTL is so beautiful. If legally allowed, the remote US workers from NYC/Boston would move to MTL. So they keep the US job but pay less in rent while enjoying the metro living life to the fullest. Not being crowded is a huge plus.
lol, the MTL would become crowded, i think they're happy its not legal

, exemples... à suivre anormaux en réalité.
Since you have been living in Montreal for 5 years, shouldn't you be fluent in French by now?

Not suggesting Montreal's East End where rampant crime and street gans are everywhere?
You're still talking about Montreal, one of the safest cities in North America, right?
Toronto and VAncouver are worst than Montreal with daily gun violence , cars sotlen every 3 minutes ,people stabbed in the subways .
Great video... Your love for Montréal and French culture is obvious, but now, for the next step, I hope some day you will say "Vive le Québec libre" when the next referendum will be happening.
