Thanks for watching! 😃
Thanks for posting this. I had no idea that the minimum setting was programmable. I had an electrician install six LED can lights and he could not figure out how to make the minimum setting lower. I almost went out and purchased a new dimmer. It now works perfectly!
Awesome! Happy to hear the video helped out!
Great video! Are you using LED bulbs in this video? If so, have you ever noticed any flickering or humming from the bulbs? Thank you
Thanks 'The Fixer'. I too had the same problem. My electrician has been putting in Leviton dimmers for years and did not know this feature existed. Without programming it (LED to CDL and back to LED) it would always revert to about 50% brightness as the lowest setting. Really frustrating. I bought a Lutron dimmer, but had the same issue. I reverted to the original Leviton slider and now with your instructions am able to reduce the lowest setting to an acceptable level!
I can’t get them to go lower. The lowest I can dim them is 50% What did you guys do to get them lower? The video doesn’t explain that.
Same, I had an electrician install TEN LED lights and he could not figure out how to make the minimum setting lower. I almost went out and purchased a new dimmer. Problem solved. Great video. Simple. To the point!
You’re awesome dude! Thanks so much. Rewiring my 50s house atm, and couldn’t do it without you and others like you. Cheers man!
Thanks for posting this video. I like to see it rather than trying to read the tiny instructions provided with the switch. Saved me time!
Awesome to hear it helped out, Michael! Thanks for watching!
Hi, I just bought the Leviton 6674 dimmer for some new dimmable recessed lights - two sets by Commercial Electric, and two sets by Illume (Dals Lighting). In all cases, the slides don't dim significantly for the first ~50% of travel, and at the lowest setting are still at ~40-50% brightness. Note that the lights are from two completely different manufacturers, yet exhibiting the same behaviour with the dimmer switches.
I have two other sets of the same Commercial Electric lights still connected to a pair of older (non LED rated) slide dimmers and they dim down to ~10%. I've tried playing with the low range adjustment without success. Any guidance?
Thanks for this video. I have the same dimmer no. 6674. I watched your video several times. But couldn't make it work. One thing I noticed.. it works the other way around. Turn off, mode A selected, turn on, switch to mode B, adjust slider, switch back to mode A, light flickers once. But it only program brightest level not the dimmest level. Been at it for maybe 2 hours. Cant figure it out. Any thoughts?
I have the same exact problem, did you find a solution?
@@inductor1.77 no unfortunately not. I gave up lol.
I got a new 6674 as well (mode A and B, no middle). Had to make a google search for it to find proper instructions pdf from Leviton's website.
Thanks, this helped me set me dimmness!
Thanks so much for that. Very helpful.
Awesome to hear the video helped you out, Tom! Thanks for watching!
Very helpful thanks
Great video. Thanks!
Leviton is now labeling the switch positions as A (left) and B (right). In 4/23 I bought a new switch and it came with the old "CFL-LED" instructions- it seems to work the same. I called Leviton and they immediately emailed the NEW (copywrite 2020!) instructions.
Thanks!
Hey! Thank YOU! 😃
So this works without the low voltage wire ?
Thank you
Wow thank you so much, I don't understand that I never saw this untill now, I did read the paper so many times as I was trying to make a 3way works and never saw that. Btw the 3 way didn't work.
wow thanks a lot
Well, I set it for my under-the-kitchen cabinet lighting.....and it is lower but not nearly as low as I want.....I could bring it down but not really low....and when I thought I locked in a setting I could live with....it still went up a bit more than I liked.... could there be something else at play? I noticed that when I cut the power to the switch it also cut the power to my kitchen light, my hallway light and my foyer..... would it help if maybe the switch was on a breaker with fewer lights on it? Right next to it is a plug that has its very own breaker (for some reason)..... could I somehow connect the switch to that breaker instead? Or am I stuck with fairly bright under-the-cabinet lighting?
why when i leave this dimmer on low and turn it back on it goes to full brightness to low.
That is a great question that I unfortunately do not know the answer to. I notice it happens to me sometimes too. Must just be some kind of bug in the switch... Thanks for checking out the video!
Perhaps you left the adjustment switch in CFL mode. It gives a little boost when turning on to get the CFL to light up.
Hello, I need help regarding led lights flickering. I got one similar to that one and I fix the flickering doing that but I got another dimmer, the leviton 6672 and I can't fix the flickering on that one, the light are flickering at all the time. Could you help me?
You may need to increase the minimum setting as described here. If this does not help, your dimmer may be faulty and need to be replaced.
Two major issues I'm also having without a solution including the programming here -
1. The top 50% of the slider does nothing. It's all at the bottom of the slider that any change happens.
2. The light flashes bright on, then lowers to the level selected on the dimmer. This happens no matter what level on the slider (but if it's at the higher 50% it just stays bright - see #1).
I had similar issues with my new lights and dimmer. Then I read that not all LEDs are dimmable. Sure enough...mine aren't. I'm guessing that's why mine don't respond correctly.
Helpful video.. But my settings are reversed... Slider At the top it is dim. Slider at bottom is max light.. Slider intermediate flickers the light... Have just left it as is... Not fully happy with the install
OMG thanks, i was about to destroy everything
I’ve tried doing this ten times, nothing changes
I believe this video is dated. Current Leviton dimmers no longer have the switch between LED and CFL on the top, it's simply A and B now. They also have a third setting for SSL7A.
Yeah that happens. The video was posted 5 years ago. Thank you for the info. Might have to buy an updated switch to make an updated video! 😁👍
