like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
Thanks, finally instructions that make sense. I spent a lot of time on this issue. No matter what instructions I used it didn’t make sense, until this video. Edit: thanks also to those in the comments section confirming this video is correct.
This and Darnell Williams video really helped me figure it out. I had configuration 2 but it wasn't clear because both Box A and Box B shared the box with other switches. The line box (Box A) also had a load jacket going into the room behind to feed power to some outlets and a closet light. Box B just had a traveler but there were switches for two other fixtures there. So, it was a little complicated and watching both videos helped me understand it better.
They finally got the instructions right with this video, but i wonder will leviton admit they printed the wrong or had unclear instructions with the corresponding switches. As you see the published date of this video is 2-26-2020, now compare it to the other leviton videos explaining "how to do a 3-way wiring", The instructions contradict each other. This video is correct, FINALLY!
Great video.! Helped me out on a house rewire I did for a santa rosa fire victim.! I never would have figured it out if it wasnt for this video.! Thanks!
Was the 4 way installation any different than this 3 way installation video? Trying to do both but these instructions on the 4 way are driving me crazy. Wish they had a video for the 4 way.
@@anthonydimarsico3127 I'm sure you've probably figured it out by now but for anyone having trouble with this as I did as well, you want to look up directions specifically on how to wire a 4-way switch since that is the ONLY one that will be different. The 4-way switch lines will also look different since that will be the only box that has traveler wires on both sides. Your remote switch (with the line cable coming into it) will be the same as specified here and your main/master (with the load coming into it) will be what takes power to your light fixture. With the 4-way it's figuring out getting travelers connected from one 3-way switch to the other 3-way switch. In my case, on the 4-way switch, I matched black traveler to black traveler on the BK terminal and red traveler to red traveler on the RD terminal. Both Neutral wires into WH and the ground wire pigtailed onto the ground terminal.
This really did the trick. Don't skip pulling all the wire apart and checking scenario, it turned out that one of my 14/3 wires was really the line wire. I have tried Lutron, tp-link, and now Leviton... the Leviton switches are by far my favourite. Love the screw connections way better than the cheap braided pigtails on other products.
Hello. Apologies if that's already been answered, but can you set up 1 Decora smart switch in a 3-way switch set up and keep the second switch "regular"? or do you need 2 smart switches? Thanks in advance!
1s, they do not tell you when you buy the Smart Switch that you also need a Remote Switch. 2nd, as mentioned in the other comments the written instructions and previous videos are unclear and in some cases just wrong. That said this video is much better.

Thank you. The printed instructions were complete garbage. This is great!
One of the best instruction that I seen so far.

This instruction video did the trick! My new 4-way-dimmers now work as advertised. Thanks for a well documented procedural!

Hey! this guy is the guy that does the infamous “how to tie a tie” video, i recognize the voice 🤯

Just what I needed 💪🏼 all working now
Great video! At 9:21, which shows Wallbox B, should the cable exiting the top read "LINE" instead of "LOAD".
I noticed this also. Wallbox B is the Line and I think is incorrectly labeled Load. Otherwise this is a well made video.
At 6:33 it does show box B to be the line wire as well as audio instruction at 9:06. Most likely a graphic error but one or the other is wrong?
Yay! this worked!!! Thank you so much for helping me out!

I'm wondering the same thing...did you get an answer? Do you really need to get the Decora companion o is that just a marketing ploy? :-~
this video helped me out so much.. thanks

Both 3 way switches need to be the smart switch?
Wow this video is awesome
But what is the point in have a 3 way for lights that are controlled from an app?
This is a good video
I Have The Same Screwdriver!
I have a combination of the three jacket wire sets and the two jacket wire sets. Idk what to do!
