Shane Gillis was supposed to be a regular cast member on SNL (back in season 45 [2019-2020]). But there was a scandal involving him telling racially insensitive and homophobic jokes on his podcast, so he got fired two weeks before the season 45 premiere. For a lot of fans of his, this hurt. But hey, now they have an episode showing what could have been.
