We were totally opposite when going in, as you were really looking forward to it - and I couldn’t have cared less lmao. Shame you weren’t the biggest fan, but I do see where you’re coming from. Atleast everyone can agree that the cat was peak
The cat was peak for sure. I have six cats so I’m always rooting for any cat. It at least entertained me with its action at points.
saw it yesterday and was surprised how many reviewers gave this movie positive reviews. the movie isn't bad, but its average. nothing special about it and easily the worse of the 3 films. pro's the monsters had more detail and i loved seeing the monsters move in a "horde" and you get to see the aftermath of that (like a tornado just came through) every time a sound is made. cons mediocre story & characters with no reason for the audience to care about. and Joseph Quinn's character just pops up in the movie and we should care about him? even though the acting was good. also the movie was from just these 2 POV. i think people have been wanting to see a full scale invasion. we got glimpse of this in the beginning of AQP2
the cat didnt bother me like it bothered others. i just hate when (and this film they only did it once i think) end of the world scenarios and people are going out of their way to save their pet. look bruh i own a cat too. but im not going to die trying to save it . its a cat. mini spoiler here. there was a scene when one of the monsters was eating (what looked like a spore or something). once it opened it up. then it communicated to the other monsters to come check it out. I could be wrong but i don't think either of the 1st 2 films having the monsters communicate (hell or eat) but this was just glazed over.
agreed with your review and subbed to your channel. this was a mediocre movie, average and not really needed for this film franchise
Appreciate you stopping by, subbing and giving your thoughts. There’s worse movies out there but, yeah this is nothing too special. I agree definitely in last as far as a ranking
Yeah, for all the noise the creatures make in this one when they hear a noise (breaking glass, flipping cars, smashing walls), I don’t see how they don’t attack each other. Have to agree with you. This one just didn’t feel the same. Definitely missing something.
I feel it’s just something to hold us over until the next one. I can’t say I’ll be rushing to revisit.
Seen some discussions about this one, pretty mixed with its change of direction into more mouth and less action. Most who like it do like it but admit it's not as good as the 1st 2 films. I'll probably agree, I will have ti of course and I'm sure I'll like it like those who like it do. But I expect it to be "less than" when compared to the 1st two which I love.
Yeah I’m pretty high on those other two films. It’s not that it’s bad I just wish there’s more substance with the prequel and there’s just not much.
Just saw the movie: I thought it was good all but yet slightly disappointing. I expected more. I feel like Lupita wasn’t the greatest but it was serviceable. Someone said this was a side quest film and I would agree. I would give it a 6.6/10 and put it above the second film but not as good as the first.
Fair enough analysis. Yeah I was definitely disappointed in ways with it.
Seeing it later this week. Honestly I didn't have high or even mediocre expectations for it, and your review let's me know I was right to think that.
Yeah it’ll be fine to check out but, not sure if you’ll be excited to research over and over again.
This movie is a 0 out of 5 😂 The story was very boring...ZzzZzz
I’ve seen worse this year but, I understand.
Okay but are there any aliens or is it all melodrama?
I'm kinda glad I didn't rush out to see this like I almost did. I thought it'd be a good cinema experience with it being quiet but realised everyone else in there becomes amplified. I'll hopefully still catch it before year end.
It’s fine to watch it just isn’t adding anything new unfortunately.
Solid review, man! I enjoyed it, but yeah it lacked the character development and story of the last ones.
Yeah it wasn’t terrible but, just very underwhelming of what I think it could have been.
It seems like so many other reviewers are giving this positive reviews but the trailer just didn’t excite me like the other Quiet Place movies did. It didn’t seem like there’d be anything new to learn and yep I was right!
Yeah it’s a very bland movie. Definitely wait for at home release if you have any interest.
Only channel I follow that has agreed with my thoughts. Everyone is riding this movie like crazy saying how it's the best in the series, one of the best movies of the decade etc. No idea what movie they watched
Haha the best in the series 😂. No way! What are they smoking?
So you're saying it sucks big time? I enjoyed first two so was thinking to catch this.
@@jonfreeman9682 I don't think it sucked and was absolutely terrible. Just found it pretty pointless and boring because it gave us no information about this world or creatures it's just an entirely separate story. I did my own review on my channel that he agreed with
@@SeanKennyYT Thanks for the honest opinion. I'll checkout your review. I'm not expecting a masterpiece and like to support indie films in cinema if half decent. Most are rather awful though. One thing about M Night Shyamalan is his movies are all similar... dark creepy atmosphere in a single location with a twist ending that doesn't always deliver... signs, the village, the visit, devil, old, knock at cabin and now this even though he didn't direct it.
@@jonfreeman9682 unless I'm mistaken M Night had no input at all into this quiet place movie. You might be thinking of the watchers? Which was directed by his daughter. We both did reviews on that one as well. If you want a silly little indie movie I enjoyed this year give a look to Deer Camp '86. Won't be for everyone but it's a fun little horror comedy that feels similar in tone to a modern version of Club Dead
I liked this one. Not my favorite installment, but not a terrible entry. I do feel like djimon hounsou was underutilized, especially given his role is Part 2.
Yeah it wasn’t terrible I just wanted more from it. I guess really enjoying the other two I had higher expectations.
Nice review man. I saw the film for myself yesterday and honestly I enjoyed it but TBF, I do think you actually made some fair points
Thanks dude. Least you didn’t mind it. I just wish we had more with this one.
I have the exact same thoughts, the lead is one of the most unlikable characters in cinema. I wish she didn't get her pizza.
Haha 😆
Good review... This movie was pointless and disappointing... I like part 2 the best out of the 3...
@@EmperiolReviews yeah it depends on my mood for liking 1 or 2 more.
I’m not sure how I’d feel about this,, Fiction is kinda weird,,,,,,,,,, but then again,,,.l there really are aliens 👽 on this earth!! Haha 😂,,,,,, I’ll probably skip
Have you seen the other ones? You don’t have to too be able to watch this but just was curious.
@@RavensOsFan89 no I don’t think I have
Fair review man 🙏 i feel we all went kind of easy on it .. thinking back on the experience- geez wtf were they thinking. Such momentum building all for this
Yeah, I hope the third is much better but, now I’m skeptical. Maybe this is their place holder to just give us something until the third came out.
We kind of opposite on this one. I didn't love it, but I definitely had fun with it.
I enjoyed the bare bones approach along with the two main characters teaming up, but I think this would've been better without the unbelievably quiet cat and don't buy that multiple people were ready to die for it. Personally, I would've been trying to stay as far away from it as possible 😂
Yeah definitely had to suspend your disbelief for the cat.
Excellent review, man! I’ve heard a mixed bag of reviews. Either way I can’t wait to see it
I hope you enjoy it. It’s definitely all over the map for this one.
I can see where you’re coming from as there wasn’t much substance to it. It relies to much on the acting and jump scares but for me, I didn’t mind that. Great review as always!
Thanks I appreciate you stopping by. Yeah I was hoping for more substance for sure.
I saw it on Friday. I agree with you. They didn't go in depth about the monsters origin story. Not really much a sequel.
Yeah I was very disappointed with it. It seemed more so a holdover until the next film. Collect some money meanwhile they make the next one in the background.
I thought the characters weren't great, but I thought their performances were fantastic. That cat was the worst part of the movie to me. I enjoyed the movie for the most part, but I can see why it fell flat for a lot of people. Great review I rank the series 1, 3, 2
That’s a fair ranking. Yeah I have six cats so they know how to play into the emotions like you mentioned in your review.
Yeah I can agree with some of your thoughts for sure, Sam isn’t exactly an amazing character at all but instead I cared about the cat for the entire duration rather than any human 😂
Yeah the cat definitely brought the A game lol
I agree that this was pretty generic, doesn't really add anything to the franchise, but has some heart. It felt like just a more action-packed Quiet Place film. I marked it up a little bit higher because I felt the chemistry from the two leads was there for me, but everything else was meh.
Yeah I was highly disappointed with it. I definitely wanted more.
i totally agree... exactly what i felt... i thought day one can be a bit different from the other 2 movies and have more dialogue because i don't think it is reasonable and logical that on day one suddenly everyone know they need to keep quiet...
so i thought this movie would bring something new and different and let us see the discovery process how the survivors learnt to survive by keeping quiet..
and yeah i could not care less about any of the chars in the movie.... not even the cat... which i assume must be dumb as in its vocals are spoilt hence does not make a sound... otherwise it's just unrealistic on how a normal cat would behave...
Yeah it didn’t do much whatsoever. It was definitely a lazy movie for me.
I think I loved it because I saw it in 4dx. It put you more into the story than when I saw it in a regular theater. I agree that I wish they explained where the creatures came from. Well developed review.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I’ve done 4dx a few times before I had a theater pass at amc. Gran Turismo was the last time I watched a 4dx movie.
I caught it in theatres the othe night and I had a fine time. I mean, I did like that the movie flew by. I don’t know The budget but I think they could of added some more characters perhaps
The budget was 67 million. Yeah I don’t think it was too slow but, it had its moments where it slowed down here and there.
Great review man shame this movie did not work for you been hearing mixed things about this one and it just sounds like a wasted opportunity glad to hear that atleast Lupita got some character development
Yeah it seems like a holdover until they pump out the third one.
I think I liked it a little more, however, something was missing. It was a side quest movie.
Definitely a side quest for sure.
I doubt I'm checking this one out. I love the first one, sound design and tension in it were great but I really don't understand where everything goes from here at this point.
@@mountaindewey3580 yeah I think they are going back to the original characters for the third one. Guess will see though.
Good review. You got your points across clearly.
I disagree about the story though. I also wanted more about the aliens' origins, but the topic and characters were fine. The story in this film is about how Sam taught Eric to survive. He was basically this chicken shit kid that needed mommy when things went bad, and Sam reluctantly helped him. I like the idea of people finding meaning in doomed situations, and we'll probably see Eric again. It also helps make the world feel a bit bigger.
If they kept doing the same characters over and over, they'd end up with the Star Wars problem. You can't change anything or do anything new without making people mad.
Will see if they adapt them into the third film. It’s a waste to me if they don’t. I’m all for doing something different but, i definitely wanted more.
@@RavensOsFan89 Yea I totally get that.
Excellent review my friend, i can't say that I'm too hyped for this one - I'll wait for streaming or digital my friend.
Did you enjoy the previous ones?
@@RavensOsFan89 The 1st one was brilliant, the second one not so much, I think I like the fact that the origins of the creatures was shrouded in mystery. Branching out into a full franchise, I don’t know.
Reminds me of the 2nd movie. It felt like it brought nothing new to the story that we already haven’t seen.
Yeah then this will definitely do nothing lol
Whoever said they were gonna explain how the outbreak started?
I would think that’s the point of the prequel but if it doesn’t bother you and you love it more power to you.
Thank you for your review. I liked #2 of the franchise.
Yeah that one explores a lot more than the 1st
The way those monsters coming in the movie gave me the alien isolation video game play vibes where you have to stay quiet the whole time. Any noise you make, they are on top of you like white on rice. Very solid movie review and how are you doing today?
Doing well. Definitely agree about the monsters.
@@RavensOsFan89 I forgot to mention about the cat. The cat went survival mode when those monsters are everywhere.
Great review. You saw my review so you know I feel the same.
Yeah I couldn’t agree more.
Agreed Ryan. I was distant this one.
It’s a shame it just was very average.
Thanks bro. You just saved me from a bad date.
@@TheProlificA3 No problem glad I could save you time.
Yea the cat was so unbothered he was cool as shit 😂
Definitely for sure
I skipped this one this weekend. I had planned on seeing it in the next couple of days. I think I’ll wait till streaming.
I can understand that. At least it made descent money from a box office perspective. I saw that American saga you reviewed only made 11 million.
I’m thinking it would’ve been a better series than a movie. Probably would’ve gotten more viewers.
@@Boblovesmovies especially when summer is usually the time where most would watch it.
I agree, I thought it would be better
Glad we could agree Angella. Thanks for stopping by.
🐱 MVP 🍕
😂👍
Totally agree man this movie was such a disappointment and by far the worst Quiet Place movie. The cat and Lupita Manyongo were the only saving graces. But it feels like a cash grab prequel we didn't need, the prologue in Part 2 did a better job telling the Day One story. Why would you have a Quiet Place movie take place in New York? One of the noiset cities on the planet?
Yeah it’s definitely a disappointment. I will stick with the original 2. I hope the 3rd gets us back on track.
