I made one too. It has three stereo slider potentiometers and two ordinary stereo potentiometers. It's definitely worth of the work. It takes a lot of patience. The multimeter will certainly not be idle. Sometimes there is a problem with the impedance of individual inputs. However, the second output would have to be solved via a unity gain buffer in combination with a good-sounding headphone amplifier, which might be better to make as a separate device, but I haven't started its construction yet.

Amazing!! I needed it a lot, because I'm going to use it to put a play alone and listen to the sound of my guitar in the same headset. I can do with less inputs that does not interfere in the operation?

If the sound level of your sources is not that strong... you can skip the 1K resistors.... or replace them with something smaller like 100 Ohm. Also you can replace the potentiometers with something like 5K instead of 10. I just made one a few days ago with two channels only.... in a lot of rush trying to have sound for a live feed here on YT ))) 10 was too much for the potentiometers. Great video. I love the box. Smart )

Great video. I was wondering if I would be able to make what you made and use it for plugging in multiple devices (computer, CD player, turntable mini preamp, tape player, etc) and using 1 of the outputs for a set of speakers? Basically trying to use a set of speakers with multiple devices. Would it work, or would I need to make one with only 1 output instead of 2? Thanks!

hello. any particular reason for 1k ohm resistors? i read that with higher resistor value there is less posibility of distortion but the signal will attenuate more. some guides also use 10k ohm. is there a sweet spot or is it not very relevant for such a small project?

  • @nivek29

Thanks for the video. What is the purpose of the resistors? I've only ever done guitar electronics and haven't used resistors. If I use 500k potentiometers for a mixer project like this (which I have from guitar projects), would I still need resistors?

funny enough, your first diagram is not a mixer, but seems to be a splitter. yay.
which is exactly what i was looking for, wonderful presentation, and video, production, yes buy yourself a microphone. you deserve it.
i recommend the chinese BM800 for 17 Euro, it will do what other 70 Euro mics will do easily. a condenser microphone makes the dif.
    - a Splitter, as in you seem to have your inputs as outpus and your outputs as inputs.
i m going to make a 10 route passive splitter, i might loose massive volume, but i don't care, they will go to guitar cabinets and a mixer that all have all the gain i could want per channel.
also in your video diagram, your right jack seems to be the general input, and your left jack seems to be the bypass, i m guessing that would work exactly so - i m new to this field. (had to think this over and over until i could figure what is what)
so cool that your video diagram was really what i was looking for ahahahaa, oh thank you. Jah bless, Jesus loves you find him.

After looking at your diagram i'm confused. Are the 5 jacks not used as inputs to mix it all together into one output? You label them as outputs. Also if it is mislabeled or easy to swap around how would I then make a master volume for everything?

    • @luluBusam

my fault i swapped the names in the Diagram, i uploaded a new version and swapped names ;)

Nice video do you live in the uk. I would have added diodes for input output so the sound signals can only go one way because with the korg volcas there's an error with some of them if you have the sync cable in as well as all the all your volcas leading to one audio source your tempo skips beat or doubles in Speed meaning that you will need to only allow the current to flow only one way.

MASUB in the diagram you have the audio jacks connecting to the potentiometer through the resistor. Towards the end of the video you show that the two don’t connect through a resistor and instead you loop the potentiometers together with the resistors leading to the output audio jack.
