  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Check the DOMEBAUDRATE in your sketch, it may be set to 2400 which won't work with this setup, simply change it to 9600 and re-upload the sketch to fix this.
    Here's part two of "How to build a Padawan 360 system". In this video, I show you how to connect your arduino to a Sabertooth 32 and Syren 10 speed controller for your motor and dome control.

    These videos are simply incredible. The thought of attempting the electronics for my build was genuinely giving me sleepless night lol. I found your tutorial and you explain everything so clearly in layman's terms I now feel much more confident. Im going to start sourcing the components and needles to say have subscribed to your channel Thank you so much, these videos really are a godsend !!

    I have a question. How would I connect the teeces light system to the padawan 360 system? And thank you for these videos. You taught me a great deal about this.

      Teeces don't really "plug into" Padawan. On my personal set, I run my teeces from a separate 5v supply.

    Two questions with this set up. 1) Can you use the Xbox 360 controller to provide more sounds then just the four off the buttons? 2) How would you control servo's for the dome panels and body panels using this Xbox 360 controller? I'm about to start configuring my R2 to add motors, sounds and lights, but I want to make sure I can do all of these actions. Great video for a one-handed man! lol

    I've got this almost sorted after watching this video. I got my sounds back, I've got the acknowledgment when I hit the start button (I am using PS2 controller & original Padawan system) Before my drives would run constant but no sound. Now I have sounds, I have beeps when I hit start button, but drives do not spin at all. Any ideas?

    Is it required to installl Describe to the Sabortooth in order for the 360 system to work?

    What are you using to plug the wires into the motor controllers? Also, what is the Xbox wireless USB receiver used for?

      It plugs into the host shield to let your Xbox controller to talk to the uno, so you can give your droid commands.

      No, the arduino sketch is specially written with 360 libraries included.

    Hi Steve my syren 10 as finally arrived I plug it in the syren 10 goes blue but when I move the controller the motor for the dome doesn’t move I’ve plugged everything in the same as yours plus changed the 1 and 2 on the syren 10 I’m at a bit of a loss hope you can help I’ve made sure the motor works before hand too 😢😢😢😢😢

      Sounds like it's not getting a signal off the arduino. Can't recall if you are uno or mega, my videos show an uno, the mega pin outs are different, if that has a bearing on things.

      @@ImperialLightandMagic it’s uno I’ve tried to use everything you did even down to the waygo connectors I will try another wire see if that sorts it thanks again for your quick response

      @@paulbrady2801 ok so on Uno sketch, you should have pin 5 on the uno going to S1 on the syren 10 (pin 4 goes to the sabertooth). Bear in mind it starts at pin 0. Also make sure you have a common ground between uno and syren 10.

      @@ImperialLightandMagic not got a ground from uno to the syren got a negative from battery to syren 10 only wire to uno from syren10 is s1 to 5 on uno
