My grandpa taught me that coffee trick probably 40 years ago. At the time I thought he was just pulling my leg. It wasn't until about 8 years later that I was out in Montana elk hunting, i had my camp on my back and I was miles from any type of civilization. I had checked the weather report before I left and it was supposed to be good weather. (This was before cell phones). Well every morning id brew a cup of coffee and this particular morning i waa pouring it in my cup and i saw the bubble go to the center. I had never payed it any attention before this morning i noticed it. I just shook my head and chuckled and said nahh surely not, the sky was clear and seemed fine to me. I packed up camp and continued on trying to find an elk to harvest. Well sure enough about 3 hours later it blew up a awful storm and all i could think was that I should have listened to my grandpa. Lol. Them old timers knew what they were talking about.
@@BigboiiTone It's the same reason why a female voice transmits better over a radio. I can tell you as a ham radio operator that it's easier for a woman to get contacts than it is for a man... their voice carries better.
Welcome to Cowboy Country's Paul Harvey. Almost makes me wish y'all were on radio, so I could tune in and listen at night.. except we'd all miss the beautiful pictures and actual ambiance while you're weaving your tale. This is the kind of stuff that's priceless.
Many decades ago I remember my late grandmother saying, "It's going to rain. I can feel it in my bones". I never knew what she meant until I reached my late 50's / early 60's. The barometric pressure falling causes joint pain. This is another one for your list of nature's weather signs. Thank you for another great video!
For your next book, you should do something like "The Cowboy Way" and put in all your stories, tales, and wisdom!! Best seller right there!!! God bless you guys!!
I never tire of hearing stories about our Fathers creations! Our Fathers creations are the best Weather Forecasters! I'm an old Country girl from Georgia and my Daddy n Momma always told the weather by walking around in the yard! Momma would tell us girl's to get the clothes off the line bc rains a coming! Lol. Daddy and Momma would tell my brothers to hurry and cover the seeds in the garden they were planting cause rains a coming! They knew and we learned it all from them! Kent. I love the stories you tell about Camp. I know those times were hard. I never lived in a Cowboy Camp but I've lived a Poor ole country girl's life without running water, or inside facilities or without electricity. Had to draw water out of the well for everything from cooking, washing dishes, clothes outside, to baths in an old round tub or the creek. We used oil lamps for light and an old cook stove to cook n heat the house. I lived a rewarding life. Some might say it was hard and in some ways it was but we didn't know no different. Now, I say it was a rewarding life and I could go back to living those days and do it good. Looks like we might get to do that if this world keeps going like it is. Thank you Kent and Shannon for this video. I sure did love that rainbow God painted in that Old Camp.. It was a beautiful sight! God Bless and keep the stories a coming! 🙏🙏❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
Mr Kent Sir when I was a youngin on the farm I remember my uncle would say if we would see a rainbow when we were in the field that meant that God was watching over the farmers. So I reckon that beautiful rainbow you and Shann and all the other cowboys God was watching over y'all! Thank you and Shann and the pups for all your hard work and time. I enjoy your videos very much!🤠
Mr. Kent, as much as I like the cooking episodes, I have to say these coffee episodes are just awesome. They are informative and have such an uplifting message. Two things we surely need more of these days. Keep up the good work
Thank you Cowboy Kent and ms Shannon fer another great video!!! And on a personal note, Cowboy Kent the Bible teaches that a man that finds a wife ,truly finds a treasure more precious than rubies. As you make references from time to time how ms Shannon, stands with you . May I say The Lord has Truly Blessed you with a Great Treasure!!! Yal keep up the Good work. Looking forward to your next video.
Your missus is an excellent photographer. It's a gift to be able to capture natural beauty on film. God Bless! (It was a bit funny to see her speaking at your chest due to the microphone).
Good Day Kent. Always enjoy your videos regardless of the topic at hand. You both bring a real joy to what you're doing. As a believer, I really appreciate it when you give God the credit that is due Him when you talk about His creation. By way of encouragement, lets give the Lord credit for the weather too, the good & not so good. He brings trials & tribulations, including challenging weather, to draw us closer to Him, that we may be more & more dependent on Him. Have great day, & God bless you both.
Once again, my hats off to both of you for all that you give, information you provide and just plain old fashion wisdom and for the love you show for our country, veterans and just folks in general. May God be with you both forever. With the love of God almighty, thank you always. Tom
One thing that I've found helpful is taking the National Weather Service's Skywarn training. It teaches you what to look for in the clouds. I really encourage it for anyone who works or is otherwise outdoors in situations where phone/internet service is limited or nonexistent. It's not hard, you don't need a lot of science, and a typical training session lasts only half a day. Best of all, it's free and open to the public.
Storms come through scares some causes anxiety to others, worries many. After the storm you see the humanity when people come out from their homes/shelters to help each other, from cleaning up the mess to just enjoying the sunset after that stormy day . Y’all take care out there, good prayers for you and your wife Kent!
Kent Rollins AWESOME VIDEO SIR!! I hope to someday I get to meet you and visit with you before I cash in!! You are the real deal sir!! Mrs.Rollins you're a gracious lady ma'am, both of you are what keeps a lot of us old folk's going!!! To you both God Bless and thanks for all you do!!!🙏🙏🙏
Didn’t see it mentioned, but a Maine weather stick is the craziest and pretty accurate way I’ve seen to predict rain. Perfect to nail up to a roof board on a chuck wagon.
You inspired me to write these words Mr Kent a place where I can roam the place I call home the feelings always good when I come to this place the feeling is always good when I feel out of space I'm thankful to call this place home for when I feel alone by myself and Downtrodden i can always remember at home is where I'm never forgotten I'm thankful for the life that I have and the gifts that you give I smile when you do your jig so keep up the good work and know that we know that home is where we're never forgotten the place that we go thankful for you and the beagle and the pups to thank God I know a cowboy like you I'm thankful for all that you did and you do

Invaluable sub.
No cookin, just talkin and coffee drinking-perfect!

Make tall ships
Carry low sails
