    These nano tape bubbles have blown up the past few days and here's the full-length video! I posted a Short recently with the basics but there were still a lot of questions which I've hopefully managed to answer in this video. These bubbles won't work with regular Scotch tape or sellotape. It needs to be double-sided nano tape which is available quite easily online and in many DIY stores. The rest is just practice and you should get the hang of it after a few attempts! This is the method that works best for me but there are many variations to this DIY. For instance, you don't need to trim the tape beforehand, you don't necessarily have to heat it (if the tape is thin enough) and you can also use a balloon pump instead of a straw.

    MYTHBUSTING: Nano bubbles are not the same as magic balloons or "Bloonies". These look similar but are two very different things. Bloonies is a paste made from PVA (harmless) and various chemical solvents like benzene (not so harmless). They were banned from sale in many countries but I've been coming across them again recently. The fumes from Bloonies are definitely not healthy to inhale. Nano tape is made from a stretchy polymer embedded with tiny nano-tube structures which give it adhesive properties. Nano tape does not contain PVA nor any of the solvents found in Magic Balloons. When you heat nano tape, it doesn't give off any fumes although it does have a typical "tape smell". I think this could also be the smell of the protective film which is very similar to normal clear tape. I think nano tape is safer to use than the toothpaste type of holdable balloons.

      Yea, Nano tapes & other extremely sticky tapes with Adhesive on both sides, Don't work at all and It's very useless to make bubbles and won't last long, I recommend Bubiloons, It's not extremely sticky & Won't pop, If you try to stick the bubbles together, Also, You could blow in different sizes too

    Thank you for the tutorial Joanna! I had so many questions about this DIY because it seemed way too good to be true 😂. And I’m glad that it’s a safer version of “Bloonies”. Bloonies are such a good childhood memory and honestly so aesthetic when filmed right. It makes me happy now that we have a safer alternative.

      @Old Blue Witch I don't know exactly if it's the same type but I use this kind of tape for bunch of stuff. Like If I want do stick something to a surface and than take it off easily because it's reusable.

    • @BTS_lovesweet
      @BTS_lovesweet Рік тому

      @Old Blue Witch Then I maybe use a different tape but I seems the same and it's useful for temporarily mounting my phone somewhere for example 😅 idk honestly

    • @hondoklaatu1904
      @hondoklaatu1904 Рік тому +1

      @Old Blue Witch I think it might be useful for temporary things. For example say you broke the handle off a mug. You want to glue it back on but glue takes applying pressure and you don't want there there and hold it. Glue the handle then wrap the mug in the tape. It just sticks to itself so when you cut the tape off it leaves no residue. You also could attach any two thinish things together by wrapping them, like you could attach a bunch of balloon strings to table leg . It could help you organize by bundling something like paintbrushes together. You are right though that it probably doesn't have as many uses as regular tape.

    The other videos I’ve seen seal the bottom and side edges first before inserting the straw and sealing the top. Some seal the straw on the side, like a flag (like in this video) and some seal it in the middle, like a shovel/sign on a stick. I found that it’s easier to blow a bubble with the straw sealed in the middle as you can get a better seal around it, and it’s easier to remove the bubble from the straw and seal it. With the straw sealed on the side, it’s more difficult to get a good seal even when you push out from the center fold, and when you remove the bubble, the tape sticks to your fingers and creates a gap around the straw that lets all the air out. It’s like folding a piece of cardboard in half in which there will always be a gap at the fold versus stacking two pieces of cardboard together in which there will be no gaps.
    For the glitter ones, the other videos seal the bottom and side edges first, creating a pouch and then add the glitter before inserting the straw and sealing the top. This way, there is no pile up of glitter at the bottom hole, which might decrease the chances of inhaling the glitter through the straw.
    Here is one of the videos I saw using the above mentioned methods:

    I got regular scotch tape to eventually work 😂. Just have to wash all the sticky stuff off it. Then you hold a lighter over it so the plastic softens. then you need strong glue around the edges put a straw in the middle and fold the tape in half then blow into the straw. Then take the straw out fast and quickly seal the the area where the straw was.

    Coat them lightly with cornstarch or oil to prevent them from sticking to each other?

    If you want to do the glitter nano tape but you don’t want it to go on you’re tongue then you can use a pump
    Hope this helps!

    Fun fact:you can skip the hairdryer altogether and prepare your tape as usual and just blow it up!
    Another fact:you can also use hot water!
    ❤❤❤

    These reminds me so much of Oonies, which essentially is the same put with a pumper and a silicone thing, that you can turn into a character

    It’s so funny how Nano tape has just become really popular now, because it actually has existed for around 3 years prior.

    Something that could probably save you time is sealing the other end of the straw with your finger while you pull the bubble off

    Instead of a hairdryer I used the metal top out in my porch (its like 103 F) so it cooked in 5 secs as an alrenitive
