In this Halloween Decor Hunting video, I take you to Home Goods, Kmart and Bath And Body Works as we find wonderful Halloween decorations and macabre home furnishing that you can use to decorate your Gothic lair all year long. We also get great ideas for Halloween activities to film this season including some Halloween baking and I unveil my "Globlin" creature-shaped hand sanitizer! Black cocoa brownies so they're super dark and spooky. Then frost and decorate them as frighteningly as you like. I always love brownies made in muffin tins, the best. Because they're crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside..and if you want, you can stuff something in the middle before baking for a surprise, like those new Hershey's Halloween Vampire Kisses or Strawberry/Raspberry Jam for a bloody center. I've never done this myself, but I feel inspired. (Edited to add that this video really made me smile today. I've been down with the quarantine blues and your wonderfully campy sense of humor and macabre, innovative ideas always perk me up. Thank you so much for all you do.)

For the tombstone cakelets mold, I recommend either Devil’s Food Cake or pumpkin spice cake. They’re just the right cake mixes for this spooky time of year!

Mr.Armenian I was a kid in the 80’s so they didn’t have a Little Caesars there yet but we would always go to the cafe they had in the back of the store and I always got a Blueberry Icee at the snack bar.
Our closed in January of this year in st. Petersburg fl . We don't have anymore at all .😭😭😭😭

For the cakelet pans - I suggest making mini lasagnas. Layer of boiled noodle, meat, sauce, noodle. Then baked and it's a delicious dripping red treat.

I think a graveyard cake would be great for the coffin cake pan and it's really easy to make or red velvet cookies. You can find the receipts on allrecipes and the instructions are easy and the recipes haven't failed me yet
The oven mitts! An actual set?!🤯 I don't when it became normal to sell them individually and the designs never match up if you buy two of them. So excited to pairs are becoming a thing again.

Nigella is Queen when it comes to baking. Her Devil's Food cake and triple-chocolate brownies are to DIE for! She also has a recipe for Guinness Gingerbread cake, which is technically a Christmas recipe but has all the scents of autumn. Also look up recipes by the Homicidal Homemaker.

That tombstone mold for small cakes is TOO amazing! You definitely need to make some cakes! Kmart is RIP in Arizona, I miss shopping there. Seeing those beautiful candles (the Pickled Eyeball and Philters, Brew and Elixirs) in your video makes me sad as I won't be able to get any of those! I went the Palmistry/fortune route last year and this year... Michael's has a few gorgeous hands this year so I grabbed them all and Spirit Halloween had a gorgeous Rascette hand as well! I also picked up the black Phrenology skull at Michael's, too... so pretty! I love vintage looking items that don't cross over into cutesy territory - old signage, old-fashioned decor, and anything that will fit into a oddities cabinet - that's my aesthetic! Some of the retro Halloween stuff can be right on that line but I am in love with all the different collections out this year. JoAnn's has a spooky art deco thing going on... not really my taste but it's pretty. I did see a retro mask collection at Spirit Halloween, brings back memories from my childhood - so cool!

Me and my mom always make cute little Halloween cupcakes with little bats and mini pumpkin shaped cakes 🖤 Its super easy for a first time baker, I think
I mean, the possibilities are endless with baking. I’ve been enjoying the changing of seasons with spiced zucchini chocolate chip loaves. The best combination of late summer squash and fall spices. Very tender and delicious for dessert or breakfast.
What to bake? I mean the obvious: Devil's Food Cake. Some dark red frosting? Some halloween sprinkles (or not). Mmmm. Also cakelet pans are usually deep enough to make pizza-pocket type things! Stuff em with cheese, sauce, and other pizza toppings of your preference! I LOVE halloween bake-ware. Last year I got 2 mini loaf pans that I love baking things like brownies and mini cakes in.
Bath and Body Works wise, Vampire Blood and Ghoul Friend are two of my favourite go-to's, and any caramel pumpkin scent is wonderful. This year I tried the Perfect Autumn soap and it is AMAZING for an autumn scent, a sort of walk through the woods scent.
And I am 100% gunna shank a bitch for that Globlin!
I have my entire October filled with Halloween activities for my kids and I. Nothing can ever stop Halloween! Not even lousy 2020.

Actually, if I lived out in NYC, I'd scoop up that Easter stuff. Imagine all the Halloween DIY projects you could make with that stuff and a little paint. Easter egg eyeballs with spooky treats inside? Halloween baskets for holding trick-or-treat candy? There are a lot of possibilities there.

My favorite as a kid (and simple) halloween treat is dirt mousse with gummy worms on top,and you can really get creative with them. Crumbled up oreos or black sugar cookies,creame,vanilla jello and whatever you want. Sometimes we added chocolate chips to make the layers of soil look like they had rocks in it. Would look great with all the tiny tombstones you collect lol. You could put some aside just for that.

Love the Halloween season, but damn seeing Kmart's name makes me sad, they closed all of the ones in my area not long ago.
I know of an easy cookie recipe I would make year around using my favorite bat shaped cookie cutter: scotch bake cookies. You'll need flour, salt, sugar, one egg, water, I think a splash of milk, vanilla flavoring, baking soda, it's much like a common sugar cookie recipe. I found the original version in my Betty Crocker cookbook that belongs to my dad. I just adapted my bat cookie cutter and then when the cookies cooled down I would frost mine with black icing in a squeeze tube. I remember in early 2000 (around Halloween), my Walmart began selling the black cake icing first, then I bought them out of that and the black food gel. I believe this is how I won my late Fiance entirely was with those cookies I made for us the first year we celebrated Halloween. And he really enjoyed the Cinnamon Imperials I added on for the bat eyes. I miss him dearly. We'd dress up every year for Halloween. It was our favorite time of year. 😉
Anyone else wanting gothic homemaking on dvd? My local Library has the "what is goth" book, I check out constantly to keep in circulation due to "paint it black" being taken out. You could take Easter decorations and transform them into Halloween decorations. It might be a ghoulishly fun project. :)
You should make molten lava cakes! They’re delicious and while they look intimidating they’re actually pretty easy
trick or streaking...that would eliminate the stress of "what am I going to dress up as this year?" XD
Sugar cookies, cookies with icing, Pumpkin bread or cake with orang and black cream cheese frosting, Gingerbread haunted house kits are also fun!
You could definitely make some miniature layer cakes with that tombstone pan. fill the molds up pretty high then just cut each in half and fill with your choice of delicious fillings. i’m personally drawn to a raspberry or strawberry filling for these. you could even go as far as to frost them the way they do snack cakes!

In my family, my mom would make apple pies, cake, churros, brownies, cookies, and bolillo. You can put chocolate inside the brownies.

I hit up Bath and Body Works a few weeks ago and snagged a glitter bat, a couple peach belini hand sanitizers and some Vampire Blood hand soap. Walmart actually has some awesome Halloween oven mitts and pot holders this year.

Baking isn’t as scary or as difficult as you’d think it would be. Following a recipe will be enough to get you started. When making anything that rises though like muffins, cupcakes or cakes, speed is key as you need as much air in them as you can to make them rise. And DONT OPEN THE OVEN until they’re cooked. Or you’ll have flat cupcakes. That’s my advice ☺️
Also you could try making red velvet cupcakes with black frosting. Pinterest has loads of really inventive spooky baking ideas as well

You could make small novelty pumpkin pies in those tins. Want em black? Get some dark cacao or chocolate powder and hit them with a nice sifted hit of the good stuff once theyre out of the oven!
Coffee jelly (coffee jello) is a fun desert to make. All you need is some coffee of your choosing, unflavored gelatin powder, and a mold of your choosing. Just be careful with the amounts of gelatin because you don't want it to be too runny.

For all the British peeps, I've got you covered! So far, TK Maxx has some stuff out. They've got a lot of prop-esque stuff, but I spotted what I think are some candle holders and some Halloween style plates. Poundland also has their Halloween stuff out right now! They've got some black cat candle holders and ghost candle holders, a couple skeletons (like, full deal) which you could probably take apart for projects, and much more. BnM also have their Halloween stuff out! They've got some doormats, a lot of animated props, some candy bowls, lights, cobwebs and if you're lucky, you can find these massive rubber props of rats, spiders and flies. I've checked ASDA like a million times, but I suspect in the next few weeks they'll be getting stuff. Also, food wise, M and S has Halloween candies and foods out right now. Also, check Poundshop.com for some more cheap Halloween stuff - they've got some bat window stickers, bat balloons, some Halloween themed deskpals, a cobweb lantern, and a couple other things from what I'm seeing, but not the biggest selection (as always in Britain). I wouldn't know about Morrison's, Tesco's, Waitrose or Sainsbury's, so if someone can update about those stores that'd be great. So far, though, this is every place I've found so far that is doing Halloween stuff. Happy searching, and remember; stay safe!

The globlin is so darn adorable! I like carrying hand sanitizer with me, but I've never been too into the holder designs BBW had. This is definitely more my style, so I'll have to buy one when you have those on sale for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing baked goods and treats because I've been in a huge baking mood lately.
As for ideas with baking, even though it's not a sweet (or technically baking), I think the spider web deviled eggs Trisha Yearwood made were very cool and you could definitely do something even spookier and elegant with different colors like purple or red. It would be fun to have a few sweets or hors d'oeuvres videos, that's for sure!
