Dr. Jekyll is highly underrated for a horror icon, but I'm glad both he and the Phantom of the Opera had their own musicals.
23:29 They called me mad. They called me crazy! They called me Kevin for some reason...
You seriously missed the "I couldn't find the Invisible Man bar" LOL 🙂
Frankenstein's Monster is trying to wake up from this horrible dream. Trying to open his eyes to find life's not as it would seem. He never felt like he belonged here with these creatures so depraved, if only he could find a way out of this place so he could finally plan his escape.
The Mummy is such a Caffeineaholic that his favorite kind of coffee has to be..
De-coffin-ated! 🤪
The Slaughtered Lamb is in walking distance of the Barrow Street Theater; not a restaurant, but I did see an amazing production of Sweeney Todd there, where, for a little extra, audience members got to enjoy savory pies from a menu curated by a former White House pastry chef. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life.
I love that the tiki restaurant played one of your songs
That's no coincidence, probably asked them since he made publicity for their restaurant lol
I flipped out SO HARD when he showed that last resturant- as soon as I saw the animatronic wolf head and king tut head, I instantly recognized them from Spooky World Cafe from Chicago, from the 90s. When they closed and reopened (as an ESPN Zone no less!) My 9 year old self was crushed! I shit you not I've always wondered what became of the DOZENS of animatronics in that restaurant. I am at peace seeing that they traveled to a new eatery to entertain new folk!.
Oh my Goth I remember Spooky World!!
I know that this is a old post but portland oregon now has an amazing haunted house restaurant called ravens manor!! It's amazing!!
The Werewolf was drinking a Pina Colada at Trader Vic's, his hair was perfect!
You know a funny thing about the fact that vampires can’t see they’re own reflections is that in modern day times that wouldn’t be a problem for them because back in those days, when the main way to see ones own reflection being a mirror, is that mirrors back then were backed with SILVER which is one of the things that vampires are weak against so it makes sense that they couldn’t be seen in those mirrors. Modern day mirrors are usually backed with aluminum which no vampire is weak to that we currently know of. This information can also be applied to phones and cameras meaning that a vampire could definitely have a picture of themselves taken in modern times!
Vampires are never visible in photos though?!
08:05...that's not a iv-bag...that's a...uhm...urin cathether bag. Trust me, I am an RN.
Cool. That works for me just as well...as long as it's filled with booze. 😉
Fun fact , according to folk lore vampires are susepitcal to silver.its a "pure" metal and early mirrors were backed with silver which wouldn't reflect the "impure" vampire. It's theorized that modern mirrors backed with other materials would probably reflect them.
Probably why we haven't discovered them yet☠️⚰️
That's fascinating! I've never heard that. Thanks for sharing!
imagine getting the Creature from the Black Lagoon as a Tinder date
Dracula is the most beautiful, horrifying, lustful, romantic, dark & delicious horror story ever written. I love the classic, but Bram Stoker’s Dracula will always have my heart - it’s the costumes! 💜🦇💜
The Mummy is impressed that Voltaire went to Las Vegas twice to get that shot at sunrise for him!
Dracula is Lord of the night but Voltaire is the King!
Dracula is one of the very first monsters I was introduced to growing up, and for that reason will always hold a special place of horror in my heart!
Mr. Hyde is definitely a great monster in that he shows us the duality in humanity. We all have innocence and curiosity just like Jekyll, but also have a darker Hyde side.
Mr Hyde is definitely one of the best classic monsters, he doesn’t deserve to be Hydden away that’s for sure!
Frankenstein is finding it very easy to pull himself together since he met his bride. 💜💚
Dracula is and always will be forever, my favorite monster, platonic crush, and most relatable character 🖤...
"Death, the final, triumphant lover."
- Bela Lugosi
Voltaire:
- And creature from black lagoon.
Me(an intellectual):
-OCEAN MAN!
-TAKE ME BY THE HAND!
-LEAD ME TO THE LAND!
Dracula is my first love. When I was a little girl, I carried around a graphic novel of Dracula like a Bible. After seeing Frank Langella in the role, I was smitten (or bitten) and hooked for life.
I once went as dracula for halloween, even gelled my hair back. Though I lost my medallion unfortunately.
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is the Shape of water merman’s granddaddy.
Dracula is big on "Fang Shui". His painting will be the finishing touch in my dark arts hallway!
I love this episode! I'd be honored to win one of the monster art pieces. My cat is named in honor of him - Bela Lugosi! 😼🧛♂️🦇
Make sure your follow his instructions so you can maybe win! Good luck!!
@@suburbohemian Oh, thank you! 😏
The Creature From the Black Lagoon is a memory I will cherish with my late grandfather. He was never one for horror but he loved that movie. Rest In Peace, Papaw!
The vampire cafe is just the coolest! I love the whole aesthetic and how the staff even get into character. The gear sculpture in the Frankenstein restaurant was also really sick.
Dracula is and always will be my number one favorite vampire. Whether he is acted by Gary Oldman or Bela Lugosi, I will still love this Vampire. I also love the Castlevania version of Dracula. 🧛🏼♂️
Dracula is by far my favorite monster of all time! 💓
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is moist in tears since he isnt in my arms!!
That monster will be kept neat and tidey, on my wall.... kept for all to sea. These puns are on porpoise... Salmon otter stop her! 🐠🐳 So give the Black Lagoon to me, oar ye be left these monstrous ponds. 🧟♂️
I went to the Jekyll and Hyde in NYC and trust me in was for a birthday gift and the animatronic called me out for not standing to get the attention, sang me a B-day song, and told me I should have went to Chuck-E-Cheese if I wanted something happier. One of my most memorable dinner of my life tbh
The show at that Jekyll/Hyde place was using Danny Elfman's music from the movie Nightbreed
No love for Claude Rains' Invisible Man huh? It's ok, I couldn't really see it either.
Didn't see that pun coming
Dracula is a grandpa who despises that his grandson learned to say "Bleh bleh bleh!".
"Dracula is a proper bastard" - Trevor Belmont.
Jekyll and hyde have always fascinated me. That duality that lives inside us all is physically expressed in that story.
the Creature from the Black Lagoon is retired in Florida and is doing well
Dracula is my absolute favorite monster ❤️🦇 I was a Vampire almost every year for Halloween as a child. Vampire Bride, Vampire Princess, Vampire Kitty, Vampire Elvis 😂 I would pick a costume, cover it in blood, and add fangs. Halloween must be spooky after all 🧛🏻♀️
The Creature From The Black Lagoon is still my husband's favorite horror movie!
Mine too
Frankenstein's Monster is definitely one of the coolest monsters to me! From being a misunderstood creation to an evil re-animated zombie, I love every kind of interpretation of him there is! I'm obsessed with re-animated corpses, so I might be a little bit biased.
Dracula is the coolest part about my childhood! 🖤❤️🧛🏽♀️
Dracula is the best monster, and that vampire place was so freaking cool X'D
Dracula is basic, but only because he’s legendary. Classic, elegant, and truly codifying a lot of gothic elements we see today.
Dracula is Aurelio Voltaire
The Monster Club, in Omaha, Nebraska is pretty neat. They play horror movie soundtracks and usually have classic horror movies playing as well. The foods also pretty good there.
Dracula is the book I'm re-reading while recovering from kidney failure and a month long hospital stay. I read it in high school but it's great to come back to it and appreciate the flavors of the narrative, the structure, the pacing, etc.
Also, Voltaire: a couple of years ago, I sent a message through your website with a question. I figured I had a 25% chance of some representative actually getting back to me and answer my question. I was blown away when you personally replied to my message. It means a lot that you take the time to respond to your fans directly. Thank you.
Wolfman is the life of the moonlit party!
There is a Zombie Themed Restaurant and Bar located in Des Moines Iowa Called Zombie Burger and they're worth checking out.
Dracula is my favorite monster ever since I wore his cloak as a child.
Long story short, when I was four years old I got to try on Bela Lugosi personal cloak.
Was just watching your live stream, but it ended before I could post a chat there, so here is what I wanted to say.
You mentioned that you were a pessimist. That is good. An optimist, when he is right, is merely satisfied that things turned out well, but if he is wrong, the optimist is totally crushed and thrown into a fit of utter despair. On the other hand, if a pessimist is correct and things turn out bad, he is not crushed since it is what he expected. But if the pessimist is wrong and things turn out good, he is ecstatically happy.
Therefore, by this incontrovertible sequence of flawless logic, a person has a much better chance of being very happy by being a pessimist.
Dude your play on words are poetic and just make your videos an absolute joy
I agree. I love all the puns it just makes me giggle XD
Dracula is to die for! Or maybe be undead for?
There is a pretty neat blogger called Toothpickings who is "Investigating the Western fascination with vampires, one dad joke at a time." I'm sure he and Voltaire would get along spooktacularly!
Frankenstein's Monster is the one man in the whole world who can electrify my heart. A little shocking, I know.
Dracula is what set the... Image, for the 20th century vampire.
Dracula is a handsome but terafanging beast! I’ll see myself out.
The Creature of the Black Lagoon is underrated.. it's funny how the word Lagoon gives me chills all thanks to this creature😅
The creature from the black lagoon is made by the woman who worked on the planet of the apes makeup.
Hi V! If you are looking for an epic Witchy bar/tavern? Next time you go to Southern California, go to Buena Park across from Knott's Berry Farm is 'The Cauldron'. And yes, there is a secret room. Fyi!
Surprised you didn't include phantom of the opera played by Lon Chaney, he is often lumped with the others.
There is no Phantom of the Opera themed restaurant, is why.
There is a kickass Frankenstein bar in Edinburgh, Scotland. Well, there was when I visited. My drinks came in beakers and the whole place was flooded with green fog. It was epic!
It's Voltaire, we know that this will be great!
I love the Wolfman. I get quite the looks when I am out howling at a full moon. For a HOWLING good time call the Wolfman. With razor sharp nails running down your spine, and bloody good kisses so devine. He is the biggest cuddle monster I know. I am just dying to meet him again at the light of the silver moon!
The Creature of the Black Lagoon is under-appreciated and would be the most beautiful synchronized swimmer.
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is iconic and designed by the first woman to work in special effects - also iconic! 🖤
Aurelio Voltaire is my hero and the king of the goths!!
The vampire cafe looks so good and atmospheric!
I know it's old but I'll always choose Dracula, he is Very Old School but Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi got me with their acting XD
Also I miss my Frankestein themed pub in Italy, it closed so soon it broke my little goth heart! Why are always the best leaving so soon?
The Dracula is very wise. He knows many secrets trough the blood that feeds his hunger.
The Wolfman is one of my favorite movies. I love Lon Chaney Jr. in the role and it's always been memorable to me. To be honest all the movies are memorable. I still remember catching Dracula on TV be accident because I couldn't fall asleep. And I remember falling asleep to the third Creature of the Black Lagoon movie and never finished it. But my favorite is the Wolfman, there's just something about the way Lon Chaney Jr, plays the character that's always stuck with me. Also my favorite part of Universal Studios in Florida was going into the monster cafe and watching the old movie trailers and seeing how many I knew.
The mummy is misunderstood, dude just wanted to take a nice dirt nap but some explorers came in and woke him up
Dracula is the gateway drug for gothic literature.
I wouldn't have raised an eyebrow in surprise if Screaming Mad George had been seated at a nearby table at the Japan first stop lol :D
Well it looks like Voltaire finally went to THE CANNIBAL BUFFET
I adore the tale of the creature from the black lagoon. Truly a story about the lost world coming to the modern. Really wish there were more sea man stories like that
Frankenstein is ALIVE!!!! He's ALIVE!!! HE'S ALIVE I TELL YOU!!
Dracula is The Most Elegant and Sexy Monster Ever! I am ofcourse, meaning the Original, Bella Lagosi! He is the Original and The Best!
Thank You, Aurelio for sharing these cool Monster Themed Restaurants with Us.
Best Wishes to Mayumi and You.
😊❤️👍🏼👋🏼
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is, hands down, the top monster. It would be amazing to find an entirely Creature themed restaurant.
The mummy is trying to practice social distancing but people keep crashing into his tomb and stealing his stuff.
Dracula is *Almost Human* besides for the fact that he prefers *The Night* and sometimes has *Feathery Wings* If you meet him at the *Vampire Club* and he gives you a bite *(Oweee)* dont be offended.. he's just *A Romantic Guy*
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is both lovable and frightening, and that's what makes him the perfect monster!
Also, next time let's see if there's an invisible man restaurant somewhere in the world. Although I guess going to an invisible restaurant would mean you're just eating outside, so maybe not.
Jekyll & Hyde is such an awesome character(s), asking questions about what lies in the souls of humanity. My favorite restaurant in this video, however, would have to be the Frankenstein themed one. Creative drinks, pizza, good music, AND monster makeup? Sign me up! Jekyll & Hyde's would make second, though. I especially love the hidden bathroom.
"Frankenstein" is by far the most interesting out of the five stories and the monster himself is so tragic. The novel is tricky to read in places due the old fashioned English used but I'd suggest anyone that hasn't to give it a read! 🧟
Frankenstein is the greatest representation of the horror of finding purpose in a meaningless, uncaring, and wholly random universe
Dracula is longing to be with you, and by the sea, where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air!
Great video as ever!
The Creature from the Black Lagoon is the one my daughter's demanding I make a comment about now, though......
If you ever do another one of these, there's a Monster Club in Nebraska that's not too bad. It's kind of an upscale pub, not not enough to totally break you if you just want dinner and a couple drinks.
Dracula is...sexiest when played by Bela Lugosi.
The mummy is my first love. I have studied Egyptian Hieroglyphics since Elementary school. ❤️🖤
Sickkkkk. I can totally relate. When I was in elementary school I'd study about how they'd dissect the bodies! 🧟♂️
Syanne Siler yeah I adored Ancient Egypt. Watching all mummy movies was something I did over and over again. I was never afraid of him.
There is also the beetle bar which is a tim burton themed bar
That's in the next video, both NYC and LA locations
Dracula is a pain in the neck 😉 couldn’t resist! But Bela Lugosi has been a favorite of mine since my childhood, I remember watching Dracula with my grandma who is a huge universal monster fan. 😬
Dr Jekyll & Mister Hyde are like a two for one deal if you think about it.
I'm not sure if you follow Abroad in Japan, but he mentioned a bar in Shinjuku called Deathmatch in Hell that's a haven for all things heavy/death metal and horror movies. The place looks really cool, as do the other horror bars in Japan.
Check out Kaiju in Louisville, KY for more monster-themed madness!
Dracula! I grew up with a vampire fanatic who passed on his passion to me.
(I'm going to use predictive text for mine.)
Dracula is the best way to get a hold of the guy who was the guy who was the guy.
Damn.
The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was the first book I took out from the library I volunteered for in middle school. It really rocked my world, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
the creature is my best friend. also the creature is misunderstood and just wanted a hug from a pretty lady.
Bela Lugosi's Dracula for me is the most "classic/ iconic"/ best iteration, only just topping Christopher Lee, with Gary Oldman's portrayal a close 3rd. Vampire movies are my fave monster movies, only just SLIGHTLY Above Mothra and Werecreatures. Thank you for giving me Sarcophagus envy with your Mummy picks, as a Kemetic Witch, they are right down my Tomb, if you will. Love ya, stay safe.
Frankenstein is my ultime monster. We had a Frankenstein and bride themed wedding ♥️♥️♥️
The Mummy is my favorite classic monster because, to put it simply, you never forget your first monster. The one that made me fall in love with being horrified, and I'll never forget it.
