Bless your wife for her patience! Now the comparison with the original flyscreen from Triumph would still interest me ... somehow you don't find any reviews about it. Thank you very much for all your efforts, I will also get the set in black in the near future.
Thanks. I like the red with the silver, but have seen others that have painted theirs and they look good too. I saw one white bike that had added some red parts. It looked awesome. You might be able to just find someone that is willing to swap parts.
I did similar tests as you did with my Speed Twin a couple years ago. I tried the Piranha for looks but was somewhat surprised by and didn't like the additional fatigue compared to highway riding with the Classic. I also went with the light smoke Classic which I like better for looks. I think it just makes it look smaller which is good. Thanks for your review.
I have had the petrol blue classic dart flyscreen on my Trident for about two weeks. I own the crystal white trident, I thought the smoked petrol blue would go well with the white and the black of the bike. I definitely notice a reduction in wind pressure on the chest at highway speeds. I commute to work on the trident alot and the fastest way is the interstate. I like that it doesn't take away from the naked style of the bike or look like a slapped on universal type of screen. I can send you a picture of the bike with my Kriega bag and classic dart screen. Fun little commuter, I love it so far. It not as rambunctious as the MT-07 but, it has an air of class about the way it rides. Its composed and proper yet quick and agile as if its a distinguished gentleman that plays football as a running back.
@jRob Rides Looking for installing a classic one on my crystal white, have you done any modification to the mounting brackets? On Dart's official images both flyscreen classic and piranha line up with the headlight from side... Thanks for clarifying!
No modifications I just had my headlight pointed up a bit too high. I loosened the mounting bolts and tilted it forward during installation to get better access. I must have tilted it back too far. I looked at the pictures on the website after I saw your comment, and you are right, they do line up better than I had it. But I tilted the headlight back down a bit and it lines up perfectly now. Thanks for noticing that.
I really am averse to windshields. But I will add this: I bought and installed the Triumph tank bag and it kinda acts like a shield because it deflects wind from the chest. FWIW.
That’s good to know. Thank you. I’ve been reluctant to try a tank bag not because it would block the wind, but that I suspect (with no proof mind you) that it would hinder my ability to move freely on the bike. Probably one of those cases of where I shouldn’t knock it until I’ve tried it.
@@jrobrides1340 I've only used it a couple times and I don't notice that it's there until I lean way forward or look down at it. It genuinely surprised me at how it blocked the wind from my chest.
Veey good video.... Im waiting for my Trident already....... I will go with the Piranha. One question, where did you have attached your mobile phone? Thanks
Thanks. It's a Quadlock. I did a video about installation here: ua-cam.com/video/Bpbwl1LEWng/v-deo.html and another one about moving it to the center of the handlebars here: ua-cam.com/video/edzNZC_2iV4/v-deo.html
Love it....... "punched in the chest by a weak guy!" excellent! Had my Trident for a couple of months and will definitely look into getting one of these screens. Are they available in the UK? Thanks for the info.
Well. You know you’re in trouble when the manufacturer’s own instructions describe parts of the installation as “a bit fiddly”, but that is a fairly accurate description of the process. I highly recommend getting better bolts to mount the brackets. Also, even though I took care to put the headlight back where it was before installation, a commenter noted that it didn’t line up with the screen the same as it did in the photos on the Dart website. So I readjusted the light to line up nicer with the screen. Unfortunately this was the wrong choice as it pointed the headlight too far down to be safe for night riding.
@@jrobrides1340 thanks for this info. I watched your video on the installation which I thought was very informative so hopefully I can just follow your lead! It should be with me in a couple of days so I’ll let you know how I get on. Keep up the great work on your videos!! 😀
@@jrobrides1340 it arrived ok and after moving the headlight as you suggested, it took me about an hour to install so not too bad. Really happy with the way it looks, it doesn’t take too much away from the naked style of the bike. Thanks for your video and your research into screens.
Lol. Anyone who actually thinks these things block enough wind to offset the goofy look and exorbitant price is seriously mistaken. It’s a naked- leave it as such.

Excellent review man! I was happy to stumble across your channel!
Thank you!
My next 2 jobs on my bike will be one of the dart screens and then I'm planning on getting all the red trim painted silver.
Great review 👍

I bought myself the classic for my Trident. See you on the road!

I agree with your thoughts about the bike. Fast and agile as I need it to be, but still sophisticated.
Can I get that picture? I'm interested in adding an after market screen and bags

Which levers do you have on your trident ?
Got them from TEC Bike Parts. They have a UK site and one for the US.
Check out the Pyramid Plastics Ermax Fairing…… doesn’t look to be good coverage but man it’s so pretty
You’re right. That does look nice. It also looks like they have a super minimal fly screen too.
