    I have flown long range a few times and I have mad respect for those that pursue that aspect of the hobby. There is a huge feeling of risk of loss. Sustaining the focus required to fly FPV for that long of a duration under so much pressure is a challenge.

    Great formula on the build, I’m going to have to try it out. This could be a good multi use build.
    With the high KV motors. One might want to throw 6” props and a higher voltage pack for some ripping freestyle.

Love Ethix all the products just got the chesty and goigles 2 bag next is the Ethix hoodie and drone bag I use a Oakley bag I'm a huge Oakley fan the bag works great as a drone bag holds all I need and it's discrete and the Ethix bag looks like it fits that category and I know Ethix shit is made with pride for the products and that makes a great product when the man designing it makes it for himself and uses it tou know it's going to be good. Thank you for the great frame and products and content. Keep up the great work. Thank you, Steel.

  • @1337flite

    Hey Steele - thanks for the video. A question if I may: just curious why 4s? At the end of a long flight 4 x 3.3volts (for arguments sake) is 13.2 volts, whereas 6 x 3.3v is 19.8v. This idea obviously becomes way more relevent if your having a hard time getting home (e.;g. the wind changed) and you have to push your packs to save your quad - e.g. push your packs down to 2.x volts or whatever.
    What I'm getting at is at the end of a long flight with the same watt hours you can deliver more volts to your motors and maybe that will be the edge you need to get home.
    TBS lists the Konasty motors as 6s. (I haven't tried them yet I still have 3 sets of flying EFAW 2407s on my 6/7").
    Are you using 4s because you just happened to have that 4s battery available when you were flying Everest so that is how you built your formula?

    • @ariafpv
      @ariafpv 6 місяців тому

      4s can theoretically be more efficient considering everything else constant. However batteries are a huge limiting factor, hence you won't see that efficiency gain in practice. There's no reason to use 4s instead of 6s or 8s on bigger quads.

    flying my Apex LR7 with 2807 1500kv motors and 4S 5000mah (tattu bashing 50C) or 6S 3300mah 45C). I have some motor output limit in 6S. Love this setup. Only downside that the bottom isn't flat and I love mounting these large batteries at the bottom, to free up the antenna, and have a full size gopro on top.
    I still need to design a print to make the bottom flat, will do when I have some free time
    BTW minutes of fly time means nothing to me, if I fly FPV it's to go fast and far, not hover for X minutes lol. Last good flight with my ApexLR was 10km in 6 minutes haha 100km/h average.
