Never had a gym fail that resulted from my stupidity but I did have a carabiner snap on me while doing face pulls and the metal part of the rope attachment hit me square in the lips. I was just glad I kept all my teeth.
Some of the funniest (or saddest) things I have seen at the gym when I was a trainer were so sad and yet the folks doing them said "Well my friend said......." never mind what the trainer is telling you!!! Good reaction lads.
I'm a personal trainer and one day at the gym I was working at the general manager had me go over to a guy who was on a Bozo ball doing squats with 150 lb on his back. when I asked why he was doing that he said he had seen a video and how it can help recovery from injuries. this guy was recovering from two blown out knees. smh
8:42 if you can position your body like that, you can get so much torque and leverage into your bench press. That guy does it to an extreme, But in general when guys are trying to max out their bench press, they arch their back and try to get their feet planted in the ground as far back as possible. It really does make a difference.
not putting the collars on the bar is a saftey thing a lot of the time, if the bar falls on you, you can tilt your body slightly and have the weights fall off the bar, like what happened in this video.. but if the collars are on and that bar is on your neck theres no getting it off
The one where the weights fell off and you wasn't sure why they didn't have the clamps on, normally if lifting heavy and you don't have someone spotting you then it's best to leave them off incase you get in any trouble, that way you can just slide them off if you can't lift it back up.
A lot of this stuff just hurts to watch. I understand some people might be inexperienced and too afraid to ask someone how to use a machine or what to do at a gym. But they could always take 5-10min to watch a youtube video to find a workout routine and learn how to do it properly. If you're going to put effort into doing something you might as well give yourself the best chance to succeed.
From where I live, most of the gym equipments here doesn't have a lock on the sides. Except for those legit gyms like gold's gym and planet fitness but most local gyms doesn't have any lock on them.
6:34 my wife will do things like that. If she uses up a ton of blood sugar through using a ton of energy in a short period of time, she'll faint after. It scares TF out of me when it happens.
If this video has taught me anything about the gym it is that people are foolish and disgusting and like shoving things into their mouth. It has convinced me even more to sanitize any and everything around me since people are stupid enough to do all sorts of wrong.
Don’t use the collars when lifting heavy weights ( bench press ) whilst alone……… if you fail the lift you can slide the weights off either end instead of crushing your ribs/face ;-)
at 5 min in: that is a calf raise set up and often they do not hold enough weight for bigger guys. his buddy is hanging off the machine, at the longest end of the fulcrum, to provide more resistance. Im sure they know what they must look like, but once you get that into weight lifting the drive for the pump is stronger than the concern of what people may thing. Not just that the attitude is a little bit "let someone fucking say something to us"
They guy fainting is only dead lifting about 315; i had a 123 pound girl on a high school powerlifting team i coached that could do that. hell i used to use that for shoulder pressing 5-8 reps lol. its just not a lot of weight. it looks like more because they are rubber bumper plates
Also, on the bench video; power lifters often put a large arch in there back to activate more muscles and to decrease how low they have to go to touch their chest, however you MUST keep your butt on the pad
The neck thing..maybe he,s a wrestler. when i wrestled we would spend hours a week bridged up on our heads, usually do it on a mate though. you would swivel your head around a bit, but with more control than that
You don't put the collars on the bar when doing pretty much any weight lifting because if it becomes too much for you you can lean to one side and drop the weights even if there's a spotter there you won't fucking die
The guy who was throwing the bar was at a planet fitness, I believe. I used to go, and their bars are locked into rails with rollers in them.to make it easier to push them up. So while it is somewhat impressive, it's mostly just dumb looking
2:26 I'm not a physiologist or anything, but isn't it good to stretch and move your spine, bones, vertebrate, and muscles like that? That just seemed like high speed yoga to me.
That guy's doing it way too fast and with way too much range of motion without enough support. He's slingshot-ing his body around too forcefully and could either pull a muscle or hurt his spine. That should be like two separate exercises done slower. Dude seems to think he can just go beast-mode to save time when in reality he's going too fast to properly engage the right muscle groups. It might look somewhat impressive, but it would make any personal trainer or kinesiologist wince. Notice how he sort of snaps back and forth with a sort of bounce at the top and bottom. That should be way more tightly controlled, slowed down, and targeted. This is just gonna mess up his back.
5:20 oh you Blokes and your dirty minds! LMAO. I'm pretty sure this machine is for using your calf muscles. And the guy lifting it has reached the maximum allowed by the machine and that isn't enough for him. So he has his friend use his body weight to add on another 200 lbs or so.
Mate steroids don't cause less libido - quite the opposite. Steroids EXPAND your blood vessels, leading to stronger and bigger erection. It's one of the reason why people don't stop taking them. What those 2 guys were doing is simple - the weights on the machine weren't enough for the bigger guy, so the 2nd one was hanging to give extra weight.
shin kicks, and hitting solid objectives with no gear was a practice used primarily in the east. Micro-fractures were and still are the best way to improve resistance and endurance, as the bone heals stronger and stronger, hence the reason why old monks can break wooden planks and bricks with their hands, feet and head. the head of a martial artist with years of microfracture training can have a skull in between 5-10 times as harder than the average human. fascinating.
To be honest one of the best ways is to grab a smooth wooden stick and roll it down your shin bone really hard, and then tap it off of the bone. Technique used by Thais.
As far as new gym goers (or out of shape people) being judged goes...nobody gives a damn about them. People have their routines, and that's where their focus is. When I'm lifting, I'm focused on what I'm doing and the only other thing on my mind is the next set. The only people I'm going to judge are people with poor gym etiquette. If you're hogging a piece of equipment or doing some truly goofy shit (not unlike the stuff in this video) then I'm gonna notice you. Otherwise you're just background noise.

😂
Jesus that guy in yellow’s back at 12:22. Mine was hurting just watching him.
Some of these people deadlifting could probably lift a good bit more if their form wasn't absolutely DANGEROUS nonsense.
Never had a gym fail that resulted from my stupidity but I did have a carabiner snap on me while doing face pulls and the metal part of the rope attachment hit me square in the lips. I was just glad I kept all my teeth.
Holy crap! Did you get cut or bruised?
That country song was Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. 9:22
Some of the funniest (or saddest) things I have seen at the gym when I was a trainer were so sad and yet the folks doing them said "Well my friend said......." never mind what the trainer is telling you!!! Good reaction lads.
The clamps are more of a safety risk if going for heavy weight. If you get stuck you can shuck the weights off to un-stuck yourself lol
i was looking for this comment
they dont put the collars/clamps on because if the weight gets trapped on your neck, abs etc you can just turn the bar to let the weights fall off.
That's right Mr. 12:15, the saying is to always lift with your back and not with your legs.
I'm a personal trainer and one day at the gym I was working at the general manager had me go over to a guy who was on a Bozo ball doing squats with 150 lb on his back. when I asked why he was doing that he said he had seen a video and how it can help recovery from injuries. this guy was recovering from two blown out knees. smh
Brilliant 😂
@@elliottdodson4912 yeah I told him he was going to blow out both his knees again if he fell off the damn thing
that guy does not need to breed
If you're by yourself when you bench you leave the clips off the bar so if you bail you don't strangle yourself 😆

More of these please
We have a guy who is a weightlifter in the Special Olympics and a personal trainer. He puts the bigger guys to shame with his strength.

3:40 when Daz brought up the Humpus....ROFLMAO!!!!!!

You don’t put the clamps on so that they do fall off if you don’t have a spotter
From where I live, most of the gym equipments here doesn't have a lock on the sides. Except for those legit gyms like gold's gym and planet fitness but most local gyms doesn't have any lock on them.
Just go to any of these gyms and you will get abs rolling on the floor laughing at these people.
Please please please do more nfl reactions!!! Would be great to see some actual games or game highlights.
Some of these had to be trolls . There's no way you don't question the camera right up in your face if you think you're doing everything right.
that hitting the abdominal area is for conditioning the core, martial artist do it all the time
People are not stupid. They are just doing stupid things hahaha
That was disturbing, but couldn't stop watching.
Honestly the people recording should be helping these people out. Some of this shit can get you really injured.
They were playing Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats
6:34 my wife will do things like that. If she uses up a ton of blood sugar through using a ton of energy in a short period of time, she'll faint after. It scares TF out of me when it happens.

Pretty much my logic as well. I havent used collars in 8 or 9 years since I'm mostly without a partner
Embarrassed to ask, possibly but I don't think many of the people in these videos are capable of being embarrassed lol
You should react to the Carrie Underwood video for the song that was playing in the gym ("Before He Cheats").

I second this because I have been asking a lot. They do Patreon requests first though, which is understandable. So give them time.

y'all gotta react to the best deserts from the us states. i wanna see how y'all tastes differ.
They probably all taste like sand.
So good. People are odd.
Here in the gym? 😂😂😂
That's why I don't go to the gym. Because I'm fat and don't know what I'm doing. I would end up on one of these videos. Lol!
yeah i think he was strengthening his neck boxers do it

You may find tons of gyms fails on instagram on the channel gymfuckery.
Some of these people have the worst form ever!!!
That arched back benchpress bullshit is just bullshit! That's not the way to benchpress, seems like a good way to screw up ur back though
