Wonderful foundation interview for printing building materials and tools.
Robotics is a great tool and that it printed without a human on site for the night, making programmed adjustments as needed, is profoundly liberating and life saving (i.e. construction worker on site mortality rates).
I too experienced sticker shock at the cost of some gantries, a print head, a wi-fi and tube attached. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
The price of printers will fall dramatically once folk realize that printers can print printers and robots too. For example, shielded drones eliminate the need for gantries &/or a house of worship with a building fund can purchase a printer for use by the congregation. Jarett's affordable HOW TO 3D PRINT A HOUSE course removes all fear and doubt about this profound shift in the construction industry.
Using geopolymers, the filament can be locally produced, i.e. hemp.
Hempcrete - Hemp, lime & water is environmentally healing, inexpensive to produce, and can empower residents with environmentally conscious, safe structures. Hempcrete is fire resistant.
Hemp plastics - 10x stronger than steel according to Henry Ford who used it in his early cars. A layer of that up to the roof would help make the structures waterproof.
    Hemp adobe ...
Thank you both for this great, consciousness expanding experience. We are limited only by our imaginations.

Another GREAT interview. Our tech team needs to speak with Luka due to his specialty. I look forward to catching up with him in the future. 💜

Great interview - glad to hear similar opinions on the current state of industry.
Would be interesting to hear Luka’s comments after reading the chemistry of the Sika Patent (spoiler; it’s not what he thinks).

I’m interested if the addition of the additives used to slow or hasten the reaction for 3D printing have any effect on the conversion of aluminate cement known to cause the reduction in strength (which I’m interpreting to be the safety concerns). (Edited with correct terminology - thanks SpaceCrete)

Hello, if referring to an aluminate cement activated inline, this can be very reliable for setting and make a very heat resistant result. The track record of a Calcium Aluminate cement in weathering is not good though, which is subject to a process called conversion, where it basically self-destructs. Sika would know this, so not sure of their prevention. Costs a lot more than portland.

I will look into all that asap. Thanks
