    For anyonecwho wants to play a bit more ranged pressure, you can swap the head down to the Alba head, replace the fcs with the WLT, and replace the pistol with the ransetsu RF. It will help against your toughest matchup of rifle kites but slow down your outgoing cqc fire rate and impact build up. That said you have access to the charged rf shot for a burst of ~750 impact if the moment arises where you can risk the firing stance, ex if they whiff a kick or you parry their firing stance

    I could never understand how to make the flamethrower work until this video :)
    I'm finally having a lot of fun with a thematic 'Fires of Raven' build: hiding coral rifle / redshift nebula shots in the flames. It hides the charge state and the splash helps with high recoil situations. RJ jumps or tetrapod hover can help with the speed, because it's pretty heavy (unoptimized is not an issue at my rank though 😅)

    Flamethrower was always one of my pet weapons. I often used two flamethrowers on a double missile build with heavy RJs.

    Flamethrower is such an interesting weapon because you can hide things in it, and it kind of blind your opponent. The downside is that this goes both ways and it can be hard for you yourself to see incoming attacks.

      The gills is crucial on this build for a couple reasons. In order of importance:
      Vertical thrust and vertical thrust efficency are extremely important especially on a coral gen as it is the primary way to escape the flame for opponents once we close the gap and have transitioned to shielding/flaming. Alula would be fine if we could AB and shield at the same time but alas.
      2nd) In order to get the defenses/stability lifted and synergize with the shield, we need to run a bit heavier than the alulas ideal weight. This would make the alula have a qb reload penalty and end up at 0.4s where the gills 0.31. It might not sound like a lot but this really matters against dual pistol/zimm rushdown. Its effectively a 30% longer vulnerability window. This would also clash with the high recoil/sec of the flamethrower and cause bloom if we try to fire during the whole down time, requiring manual timing.
      3rd) the gills qb EN efficency allows us to squeeze out more qbs per EN capacity, meaning less vulnerability time when the shield is cooling, which is the difference between getting staggered or not for most lightweights. Think of it as, alula would mean there is a ~ 1.0s vulnerability window vs 0.5s window at the end of qb spam once your shield is overheated. Plus the alula has that extra 30% window between wbs.

    How about a laser turret optimized build? I wonder what you can cook up for that one. They can do some juicy damage, especially when doubled up.

      Hmmmm sounds unique, i have the salad arms build 90% optimized so that is next (i started this and that at the same time) im liking the challenge though..... Ministuns ought to be a huge resource for laser turrets though.... Let me see what i can cook

    I tried doing a tokorobu type build with it awhile ago, the aim was for the flames to hide the lrb shot which worked well but but I couldn't figure out how to build around how heavy the cook and lrb were so I ended up with a heavy build keeping in mind I was trying to stick with the 150 gen. So I kept losing to the lighter kite builds and d Zim/d lrb big bois. The flames sometimes made it hard to guard myself aswell

      Lightweight kites are a struggle with the flamethrower. For this build just focusing on not taking a hit by their missiles, and staying out of range until you get a salvo of heavy missiles to land using the flame to mask them incoming does the trick. Once the hp lead is in your favor they have to chase you into the flame which extends its range by 50-100m and utterly melts them.

    Can wait to try piecing this build together, started ng+ today but i only got the fires of raven ending so i still need the head piece you’re using (im assuming its ng log based or ending based (plz dont spoil me i love this game so much)). Was really wondering how to make the flamethrower actually viable and this build looks freaky strong

      @@gabiconstantin2937 this build is particularily fun against all the lightweight high impact builds like vientos, pistols etc. The big test of skill is knowing how to get the health lead and force opponents into your flamethrower. Second, is not interupting the parry window by habit like its the 61PS shield!

    Would a VP-20D work for this build ? I think you have just enough weight load on the Ephemera legs.

      @@Zakat82 it would exceed the ideal weight of the gills, incurring a qb reload penalty. Additionally the loss of capacity would severely hurt chasedown of lws who backpedal especially because shiffling is extensively used. Lastly the weight would impact the boost speed while the shield is up. You could get around some of this by downgrading the missiles but that would be tge difference between a full stagger to acs anon.ed lws or not.

      @@InAVanByTheRivr also, would BML-G2/P19SPL-12 work better then BML-G2/P17SPL-16 ?
      It's a slight damage/impact drop but an increase in overall DPS because of the faster reload and lock-on speed.
      Anyway, thank you for a detailed explanation and for making these awesome non meta builds.

      @Zakat82 from a volume of fire perspective those missiles do better over time, but tge heavy missiles when they do connect essentially do >1500 impact and also hit harder as a stagger punish if they do land during acs. The flame obscuring makes their reliability very high anyways and so I reasoned that the volume of fire was less needed than maximizing the benefit from acs anomaly and also for damage/impact in one single burst especially against kites where we wouldnt have time to get a second salvo before burning through en regardless of which missile we took anyways

      That build was too fragile to make that work. I think they were going for a missile kite that uses the double zimm against rushdown.
      The following match at 26:00 shows what happens if he tried. The AP bleed in the flame is brutal, and even after they finally exhaust the shield, they are taking a heavy split missile salvo from behind right after, plus the coquillet magazine all while its flame enhanced and I am qb spamming between single shots. Its really hard to rush this build down in other words. The best weakness to exploit is the range of the flame and pistol when I need to AB them

      @@InAVanByTheRivr yeah but still trying to ahhh that makes more sense but there are better weapons to use than zimms for kiting. Also, you actually do have a pretty cool build which actually gave me an idea how to rework one of my builds!
