Cherry mx browns are hated so others think the all the other brown switches are trash too but gateron browns can sound very thocky and have a bit of a better tactile bump than the mx brown switch.
Beautiful sounding board! Though I am surprised you used dielectric grease with the holee mod. The holee is a great mod that reduces alot of the rattle and makes the hole in the stabs smaller and tighter. Because of this many tend to use krytox 205g0 with the holee mod more as a lubricant and less as the main means to reduce rattle. Using dielectric grease with the holee mod is perfectly fine but tends to be a bit too thick.
Really nice video man, I'm preparing to do this with optical brown switches and saw in another video someone mixing the 205 Grade 0 with the 105 in a ratio 1:1, is this something worth doing or is the 205 Grade 0 fine to use on its own for the switches? and just use the 105 for springs?
krytox 205g0 and 105 mix is will have lower viscosity. 205g0 will be fine. you can try the krytox mix and see what you think is better. but other says that in a matter of months maybe a year 205 & 105 will eventually separate from each other.
Sounds so nice! Was wondering if putting switch films would be worth it? Waiting for my switch puller before i lube mine but was wondering if filming the gat browns would be worth it. Thanks!
Hi @Nifty keyboard! Can you do post a video lubing low profile switches? I want to lube my low profile gateron browns but I don't now how it will sound
Master. How much tactility is reduced when you lubricate the legs? In some forums I have read that it disappears completely. I would have no problem dimming it. but definitely if I remove it
hey I am about to do this to my keyboard and was wondering what do you have in the bag in the beginning before you put the strings in? there is little droplets in it?
I have a question, I was trying to follow along to make my gat browns sound like this but during the stabilizer mod part, it only shows you clipping, lubing, and wire balancing it, but during the sound test (9:33) it also says bandaid mod, and holee bandaid, did u do those as well to this build? And do I need to do that to make it sound like yours?
yes those are kinda important part to removed the rattles on stabilizers. there's a lot of great youtuber out there who has a tutorial on how to do that. Try following Keybored

Interesting. I really like the feel of tactile switches. Even posted a rant about it in an fb group but i seem to type slower with browns than gat yellows. Since i only got 1 keyboard, ive been swapping the yellows and browns to see which one i really like. I like the softness of the Gat yellows but it's mushy without the clicks. Man im so confused.
if you want tactile switches , if you want so light tacticility that you can almost feel then go with browns, they're the middle ground between tactility and linears. but for pure tactility get any panda you feel fits you, glorious panda, trash purple panda, purple panda, holy panda, if does dont thock enough go with Boba U4t
kuya! i currently have the stock royal kludge rk g87 with brown switches, kaso di ka madesolder yung board :( what kind of lubing technique would work best to make it sound as perfect as yours?
Depending on how much lube you add to them that is. I added a tad bit more lube to one of my keebs and it nearly completely loses it's tactility, it was still pretty nice though and sounded deeper. I lubed it enough to just barely not feel mushy, basically at the breaking point of almost being mushy but not feeling mushy. Edit: Forgot to mention that the keeb I'm talking about also uses gat browns, and of course the materials of the other stuff like the case, plate, whether you use foam, and the key caps all can change how it sounds.
hey I'm going to try to lube my keebs for the first time and i have the gat brown too same as yours. and if i want my keebs to sound the same like this video, all i need to do is following your step on this video or? I'm afraid I'll destroy my keebs 😂😂

@1:06, cool thing to see some sort of esd protection sa fairly priced boards
that's cool. I don't know much electronics haha
i have a question, i actually like the sound of the stock browns in my keyboard so could i just lube the switches with stabs?
yeah, if it's up to you if you don't want to add dampening foam inside the case

So, how long does the lube last? Also do I need that specific grease or can I use some other silicon maybe?
use one that is meant for keyboard. lube should last couple of years.

one question. does it change click severity?
what lube did you use in lubing the switch?
