If I remember correctly Stanley made absolutely sure after every scene with Saiorse that she was okay and that he hadn't freaked her out. It's great to see that they're so caring for each other, these roles were probably not easy to have taken on, especially from Tucci's end.
+marcie pan its not easy playing a child killer. it does something to the nerves. Tucci is a brave one for taking this on
Sabrina Artois-Davis ecpeseally that he had child's In real life
I saw an interview with Saoirse and Rose. They were saying how sweet Stanley Tucci was to them.
He was in the hunger games
Yeah but it's hollywood if he didn't do nothing someone else did its sickening
tucci had a lot of trouble filming this. he said that reach night he would go home, scrub the character away in a hot shower and have a strong drink.
MindCalmASMR yes I’ve also heard deep characters with depth and strong personality take over some actors minds and fuck with them heath ledgers is victim of that some say he heard the joker in his sleep or he acted like him sometimes he couldn’t get rid of him like a split personality Evan Peters isn’t staying in American horror story because his roles are a bit much lol 💯💯💯 a role can fuck with your head
@@honeymilano5325 the Heath Ledger thing is a shitty urban myth that you shouldn't spread
MindCalmASMR ok?
Can u tell where he has said this words in which interview
@@kitpalmer1583 Jeez, you don’t have to get so defensive
i love how she askes repeatedly if he was alright. thats so sweet and i love how he was like nooo im fine and everything lol
Emma Nagy Was especially since that’s the character that murders her ughhhh your mind🥰😍
That's being irish for ya. Always apologisin for everything then askin repeatedly are ye ok? 😂
He is a seasoned professional, and probably used to a certain amount of cuts and bruises while filming certain scenes. But, she was still young, and hadn't had many intense, physical scenes like that prior to The Lovely Bones. It was sweet of her be concerned!
she is the sweetest thing! she really is a catch, whoever is lucky enough to get her!
ask your Mother to come here lol
What made me sad was that wasn't really her escape. that was her spirit running away. He had already killed her.
I already read the book, but I thought she escaped
Reminds me of that short story I had to read in high school. An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. Same basic idea with this scene. He's executed by hanging from the bridge, but the rope snaps and he falls into the water. He makes it all the way to his house and wife, and then we're brought back to the bridge. The rope never broke, and the execution went as planned.
RoyalEnigma I swear
RoyalEnigma it looked real that she escaped but other hand her spirit escaped her body didn’t.
@@cobrakairobloxenthusiast4291 Exactly
Stanley looks pretty uncomfortable grabbing her.
He had a lot of trouble filming this movie cos he hated the charater
A real man
@@miraculousedits2529 also he refused to film the rape scene with susie , so the studio had to remove it
@@sebastianolivares3021 ohh yes I remember that, such a kind man
@@sebastianolivares3021 I personally think the movie is better without it, the implications are what make the viewer most incomfortable, the things they left to imagination
"Did I hurt cha?" love her accent
yea, girl
Stanley is such a good actor, I like every single roles he has done, from the devils wear prada, spotlight, lovely bones to the hunger games. great actor.
Who did he play in the hunger games?
+Betsy Jones Caesar Flickerman the host for the hunger games.
+Tulyseng Yang oh. Lol didn't know that😂
omg I just realized he's in hunger games! gee he's an amazing actor
Tulyseng Yang Caesar is his best that I've seen. Seeing him in that HG role and thinking of him as the killer in 'Bones' I think is a mind-blower for most people. My teenage daughter who got me interested in both stories was blown away when I told her that the man playing CF is the same actor that was the 'Bones' murderer.
this was the creepiest scene ever. Tucci's a brilliant actor.
I'm grateful Peter Jackson chose not to depict Susie's rape and murder. I've counseled so many women and girls who've been raped. When this movie came out, so many of them told me watching these scenes was extremely painful. It brought back the terror and pain they'd experienced during their own rapes. Tucci and Ronan didn't want to do it either. Saoirse and her parents had concerns as to how the scene would be staged and Tucci basically begged Jackson - Don't make me do that to a little girl.
for real???
The rape itself was a very small part of the book the author didn't go into tremendous detail (thank God) so I doubt a scene would have been made specifically of rape.
Yeah I think he would Stanley did was awesome and I think the way they filmed this movie was brilliant being an abuse Survivor myself I there's no way I could have watched this movie if they had done it any other way
I can understand these women but personally can't relate. I've experienced in particular child abuse and I've read the book and found it deeply cathartic. I hate when common people who didn't experienced it are uncomfortable about even mentioning it because they can ignore and cover up . I can't. I would have loved a delicate, devastating and true scene as it is in the book. But still I love the movie, I'm grateful there is a movie and a book like that, so terrible but hopeful at the same time. English is not my mother tongue so I probably committed some errors.
@@hannahm.9881 Even though the book doesn't describe the rape scene for very long, it was still very disturbing for me to read.
I'm glad they didn't make such a young actress pretend to go through something like that.
Aww I felt bad for the actor who played Harvey. I mean his character was so hated and despicable; but he’s such a kind man in real life. He even said that doing the murder scene was really hard to do, because it was really emotionally hard. But that’s what makes him an amazing actor
Don't feel bad. Stanley Tucci has had some loveable roles, too!
Stanley Tucci is a great actor tho
yep. that is what makes ALL good actors what they are, is their emotional sensitivity; it allows them to really play the character fully and move the audience.
Well he won the Oscar for this role so don't feel too bad lol
@@amyhintz471 he did??
I remember Stanley saying he hated his character in the movie and refused to do some parts. I respect him a lot and it’s a relief after watching the movie how sweet he is in real life.
0:04 can we appreciate how even tho he was a creepy character Stanley was respectful and kind to her and intentionally wasn’t looking at her back side when holding her
Poor Stanley. That had to have been traumatic.
kayper54 ,
These to actually asked eachother after every single scene if they were ok. That’s real acting and kindness. It shows to me what a nice guy he really is.
It's so weird to see this after the movie lol xD But seriously great acting, beautifull movie and amazing plot. I can't understand why it got bad ratings. After years this is still one of my favorite movies.
I just watched it. I've only seen parts of it and that was when I was 10. It's now one of my favorite movies it was amazing. I think people gave it bad ratings cuz it's like not realistic to them. They don't have imagination
One of my favorites
It was an amazing movie.
I know Roger Ebert(may he rest in peace 🙏🏻) gave it a bad review because he thought it glorified the idea of being murdered by a serial killer, probably because of all the merry scenes in the in-between, but with all due respect to Roger, he could be kind of a hard-ass at times!
The cutest "did I hurt chya?" 💕💕
Aw it's so sweet that she's all concerned about hurting him
My goodness saoirse was so kind...i love the way she said "are you okay" "did i hurt you" "are you alright" 😍😍
I know. She is so sweet!
Aww I love Stanley he's just adorable
Ikr? I wanna marry him!
I always hear Stanley talking about how he made sure saoirse was ok so it’s tripping me out she’s asking him if he’s ok. 🤣
*Sussie in the movie: Ahhhhhhh!*
*Sussie behind the scenes: Oh my gosh are you okay?*
it makes me so happy that Stanley Tucci is so kind and sweet, and not at all like the evil mr. harvey
Such a truly nice man.
This is so weird to see.
Stanley Tucci did a great job playing this creepy guy Mr. Harvey and then seeing this creepy scene behind the scenes and as soon as they say cut! You see Stanley again and not Mr. Harvey it's kinda weird.
I saw this movie 2 days ago for the third time and i'm still thinking about the movie it really touched me and creeped me out
i love their chemistry here. its refreshing seeing how much they're like friends here. Makes me feel so much better about the scene.
i can't believe that this guy is Stanley Tucci aka Ceasar Flickerman in The Hunger Games
I still couldn't believe this was Nigel from Devil Wears Prada!
He was also Puck in an adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
To us 90s kids he was one of Dr Varnick's henchmen in the first Beethoven
*_And Mr. D.... I wished that if there's a PJO Reboot cause I wanna see him playin as Mr. D (I wanna see his sassy side)_*
omg her accent! she does an american one so well!!
I like how they really bonded during the behind the scenes since it would have been difficult and traumatising to do not only for Susie’s actress but Mr Harvey’s actor too both did a great job.
This film is so disturbing but so cute behind the scenes, the actors all care for one another so much
saoirse is so sweet and polite, the behind the scenes are adorable. she will always be one of my favourite actresses.
I get an uneasy feeling watching Tucci in other films. That's how good of an actor he is.
Aww, Saoirse and Stanley have such a nice relationship in the film! :D Stanley's a really sweet guy!
He did do that because I think he's a very kind of actor he always cares about the younger actors that he works with. I think because the concept that the story was pretty scary he mentioned that as time went on she started asking him the same thing
Wow, I actually thought they were really underground in the cornfield hehe didn't realize it was a soundstage. Even the camera showed the field and the underground from top to bottom in the film, gotta love camera tricks.
sometimes i don't like to know how it works because i prefer total immersion in the illusion!
Omg what a nice guy! .. Still scares the fuck outta me :L
Great actor huh? Yeah I was on google and I stumbled across several pics of Stanley and Saoirse.
Did I hurtcha? God, she's adorable. Fell in love with her after watching this movie.
I was kind of relieved when I saw her escape, but then realized it was her spirit and that she had already died, crushed me, my heart is broken.
I love their relationship behind the camera is the cutest!
"Did I hurt your nose? Oh my God, are you okay???"
Saoirse is so sweet and caring.
This movie had me in tears,I’ve only seen it once and I have yet to convince myself to watch it again 😢😢😢😢.
Same here! I've watched it only once so far( not counting clips from the movie that I've watched online over and over at different times) and as much as I like the movie, I feel like once is enough. There are movies like that, movies where you watch them once and have yet to convince yourself to watch them again.
He's not creepy at all. He's an amazing actor and was great playing this character.
"Oh my God, are you ok? Are you alright?". Saoirse is the sweetness ❤
I think everyone should watch this scene after the movie. It really lightens the mood and helps.
Awww bless her I love it when she says "did I hurt you?" I'm in love with this movie, really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
I love this movie so so so so so much. It’s my favorite movie ever. I’ve watched four times and every single one I still cry. It makes me cry so much when Mr. Harvey just pushes the safe into the sinkhole. Just like, that’s it. She’s been put away forever. She finally has her grave. She’s gone and will never be found. Stanley Tucci is such an amazing actor and he’s so sweet too. I feel bad that he had to go through that. My favorite movie. Ever. ❤️❤️❤️
MRH OFFICIAL it's even worse in the book. He takes the safe to the sinkhole immediately after he murders her and gets rid of all the evidence.
Another thing I should add: she was ready to let go, but not before she had her first kiss. I'm guessing that the kiss happened right when Harvey was doing it in the movie to signify that she didn't care about what happened with Harvey or her body anymore.
videohistory722 yea I read the book. It was graphic but good.
oh my gosh! when Saoirse came down from the ladder to ask if he was okay and that she didn't hurt him was the sweetest thing ever!
HIS LAUGH WHAT THE ACTUAL FRICK
This scene is so heartbreaking.
awe they are so nice to each other :)
This is why I absolutely adore Stanley Tucci as an actor. And even more so, Alice Sebold as an author. If you read her first novel: Lucky: A Memoir, it retells her experience of being raped as a freshman in college. Sebold knew how to hit home and write the truth and the dark sides of society. Tucci, Saoirse, and Jackson beautifully brought that novel to life. I, myself, have never experienced rape...and I never want to. But damn, when this scene came on, I was literally screaming.
She's a liar. That book is based on a complete LIE. Because of her an innocent black man spent 16 years in Jail
Actually, she lied. She got a man wrongfully imprisoned for rape.
I love the chemistry here. Like, it’s such a creepy scene but behind the scenes everyone is so friendly
0:07 THAT LAUGH "HUehueheh"
She got so worried about him that’s so sweet😭
her accent😍🙌😭
That was adorable. She's such a sweetheart
Those two had really good chemistry. It was quite cute of her when she's like "did ah hert ya" with her real accent. XD
“Are ya alri?” Couldn’t be more Irish if she tried ☘️ ❤️
This movie made me cry so much and its still in me
i always love/admire actors/actresses. i never pursued that kind-of stuff in school (i was more kinda like into reading/writing), but i always loved going to the plays to watch them and the musicals and stuff. i can't imagine even to PRETEND doing this kinda stuff. yeah, it would be so hard, but it, in the end, really sends a powerful/poignant message. thanks for posting
Aw hes so nice. I needed to see these behind the scenes after watching the clips from the movie
both such underrated actors!!! love them!!! they should be in another movie together!
this was actually very sweet to watch, love how they both took care of each other during these roles
when an actor's portrayal of a character creeps you out, that's real acting.
Haha. She is asking the murder if he is ok. Such a sweet girl :')
I like how Mr Harvey character is so well made, literally the actor make you hate the character so much... Great actor
I lost count as to how many times I watched this movie. ALL GREAT ACTORS. AWESOME MOVIE....
Cuando te impacta la pelicula y vez el detrás de camara. Te sientes extraña.
He seems like a nice guy in real life.
aww, the one who plays the murderer is actually really nice!:] proves how good he is a playing parts.
does mr harvey have a wife
wow.. great to see them care each other, after saw the film
Stanley Tucci is just great, I remember him for his work in The Core, The Terminal, Conspirancy and specially SHALL WE DANCE
this movie had to have been emotionally grueling to film. everyone who worked on it did such an amazing job tho
It makes my heart happy to watch this, seeing them be so sweet and lovable to eachother. I mean I already knew Stanley Tucci was sweet but it makes the movie a speck easier to watch.
wow: very lovely girl. Thank you for put this making of. I feel terrible seen this scene in the film :(
Lol I think it’s so funny how she’s so worried about hurting him , but he killed her. I know it’s a movie but still I find it hilarious
How cute they are together I never seen such a good team work bevore
I NEEDED TO SEE THIS AFTER THE FILM omg ::::'3
This definitely helps to watch the real scene. The real scene is so unsettling and makes your skin crawl. Them in that hole. The tension. Mr. Harvey's creep factor. The way you can feel how terrified she is. The actors were phenomenal in this scene.
Oh, her little voice is so adorable!
A great actor makes people hate their horribke character but love them as a real life person and actor 💛 look how amazing these two are. They work so well together and care so much about not hurting the other when they've finished acting the scene out. I really feel like actors need that great relationship sometimes to have those hard scenes be the best they could be.
he is such a good actor that he nearly made me hate him but in the behind the scenes he looks really kind
Thank God it’s just a movie. She is Ok she is still alive but the movie is very heartbreaking🥺
The dynamic between the real move and behind the scenes is crazy. This is the ONE fictional death I’ll never get over.
Stanley's turned acting into an art form you know there's acting and there's embodiment and that dude embodies every role he's ever been in
Awwwh!!!
Yay.. it's 2020 and this film still gives me chill. Randomly found it btw thanks UA-cam.
Omg she’s so sweet 😭,
I watched them movie to the first time with my bff last year, and me and her sat their bawling our eyes out, eating snacks, lit was so sad
Aww bless them 💕
"See, I nearly broke away that time!" Bless her heart, that's only because the actor is a nice guy who's mindful of the fact that she's a teenage girl & is trying very hard NOT to accidentally hurt her. The kind of perv who really does this kind of thing would have dragged her off the ladder with no trouble. I can't believe I never heard of Stanley Tucci before this movie; he's really good, and so is Saoirse Ronan.
*_Sersh asking Stanley if he's okay.. that's the cutest moment in this video_*
i can tell Tucci is nervous or uncomfortable here, when Saoirse kneels down by him it seems he is in a hurry to get up...if they had shown a rape scene i know i would have cried...but i still love this movie
For a really messed up move they have such a sweet cast
After watching the actual scene and then seeing this....it makes me feel that much better
Saoirse is such a sweetheart !
Watching this makes me feel alot better
Es una película hermosa, aún cuando el tema es muy difícil por la muerte de la niña y bueno de las otras niñas que aparecieron después.
Pero a mí me encantó, esa niña tiene una mirada preciosa!! El color de sus ojos es lindísimo!!
Omg. She asked him if he was okay I LOVE THIS BEHIND THe SCENES
i like this man
