What an amazing place my friend, I could stay there..... FOREVER. 😀 Thanks for a very well made video, great tour. Greetings from Ang Kha, Thailand.... Thomas
The opening shot was captivating - love water. Can watch-look at it for hours. You’ve got my attention Paul. What a great hike. Nothing like a bit of Scottish bog. I’m glad Scotland is so vast. I’m hoping for lots more hikes with you there. So grateful I get to see places new and undiscovered by me. Thank you for sharing your adventures and knowledge. 😎🇳🇱🙋♀️🥝🏔️
Hi Anita, I do like a good waterfall myself but not so much the bogs. I also like to explore Scotland and I certainly have a bit more to come from there. I'm so glad you enjoyed coming along. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you're keeping well 🙂👍Paul
This video is a true alchemy of brilliance! 🌟🎬 It transforms information into pure gold, captivating the audience with its magical blend of visuals, narration, and expertise. I'm left in awe and eagerly anticipating the next magical creation. Bravo on this alchemical masterpiece! 👏✨49
It seems not all libraries are shutting in the UK. It was certainly a unique place. I did get a good look at the falls even tho it was from afar at the viewpoint 🙂
Hello Paul, loved the waterfall at the beginning, the scenery is amazing. There were a lot of fallen trees but such a lovely trail. The Library was so cute, loved the idea of leaving a little note. The loch looked very dark so yes very deep. A little boggy. It seems very tranquil Paul. Lots of logs, the Freedom Bar was interesting. Loved the little waterfall before the carpark. Thank you for sharing, take care x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie n Tony, I think the wind must whip in quite bad here at times with all the fallen trees. The library was pretty unique and plenty of notes written. The loch was very peaceful and ideal for a hermit. No beer at the freedom bar tho I was driving. I'm glad you enjoyed the waterfalls along the way. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 🙂👍 Paul
Oooh Paul this was captivating, the library in the woods sounded great, the walk that you did was so lovely with the views all around. I do like lighthouses and this was in a stunning area with that beautiful waterfall. That Loch was lovely too, shame it was boggy around there but it did look lovely and you made your way around the bog ok ! Like you said, it was nice and warm and dry and you got out of it fine. That was great 👍~ Anna
Hi Anna, the library in the woods sure is a pretty unique place and the views on the way up toward Pladda Island and Ailsa Craig were lovely. The loch was pretty peaceful but very boggy around it. This walk was 2-3 days after that period we had with 3-4 days of torrential rain so it was a lot wetter than normal underfoot I suspect. Anyway I still did the rest of the walk as I drove round to the other side to complete it. That's the next video. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂Paul
I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. I always try to stay safe when out but it's not without risk but that's life,. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great day Nanete 👍🙂
What a delightful video! The Isle of Arran looks enchanting, especially the Eas Mor Library in the woods and the Loch Garbad walk.🏞 Your footage beautifully captures the serene beauty and magical atmosphere of these spots. Thank you friend for sharing this wonderful journey 😊
Awesome place Lots of good landscapes at isle or Arran Seems unique Surprised the paper not molding in the cabin BTW happy B day to sis Kinda of a hidden trail around the loch Beautiful experience Paul Cheers 35
Hi Mike, I'm glad you enjoyed the explore. I'm not entirely sure how long all the notes have been there. I would guess some would be a few years Might take a wee while to read them all tho. Loch Garbad was lovely and peaceful but could have done without the bogs. Thank you very much for coming along. Have a great weekend ahead, Paul
Hi Paul... What a fun place to explore... Wow, all those notes in the library (expressions of life I guess)... Would the water have trout... Or maybe other fish species.. Hope all is well buddy .. great work. Jim 😊✌️
Hi Jim, I'm glad you enjoyed the explore. There sure were lots of notes pinned up in the library. It is a pretty unique place. You're correct on trout being fished at Loch Garbad. I believe it's brown trout they fish. Im all good here. I hope you're keeping well. Have a great weekend ahead, Paul
Hi Paul Nice to see your hike in Scotland where your heart belong to(?) Birds singing on your background.....such peaceful ahhhh so many notes in the library. why? Did you pin your note? Wow the dark clouds hanging down low are coming in the mountain You often hike the trails with expose rocks, but not many trees. The tall evergreen trees along the hiking trail flatter my eyes. oops no go? So much overgrown greenery along the trail..of course, summer haha what is that? No likely Starbucks??? 18:22 The little waterfall is charming....where is the upper waterfall? by the bridge you crossed? It was very pleasant and enjoyable hike, Paul. Nice to see you and listen to you with little relish. Miss Your jokes hahah cannot say in your films hahahah Have a great summer BTW, how can you choose hiking shoes and hiking boots for? I did noticed I am not fond of rocks on the hiking trails. I will get cramps after. I wonder if hiking boots ease my pain...??? or booths make worth bc of their weight? I don's use walking sticks. oh it was painful after the hike a couple days ago. See you next one I am spending with elderly in-laws...hope I did not miss your film. cheers Paul
Hi Ms Kayak, I do like to do a bit of exploring of Scotland. The library was pretty unique but I didn't post anything. There was no pen and paper to hand. I'm not sure about my eyes and the trees ha ha. This walk was from late Spring and not long after 3-4 days of torrential rain and hence the bogs at the loch. The upper waterfall was that big 103 foot one I saw at the viewpoint but the little one at the bridge also fed it. I can't do jokes on serious filming 😂 Maybe I need someone along for the banter. I do like banter but I also like being a hermit 😂 As to whether boots or shoes are better. I'd say if you know there are no bogs I tend to go for my hiking shoes as they have more grip on the rocks. As for cramps after hiking try drinking some electrolyte fluid and doing some stretches. The second part of this walk is next up when I get chance to edit it. Hopefully soon. Thank you very much for watching. Enjoy your time with the out-laws 🙂 Paul
Hi Paul, it’s so nice watching this video in 4K, wonderful solo hike at this Isle of Arran. I like that charming library, waterfalls, vast woods etc.. and the peace while walking. Such a really cool place to visit.. I enjoyed watching your video! 24👍✨ have a fantastic day!
Hi Pam, I'm glad you enjoyed this wee explore on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. The library sure was unique but could have done without the bogs at Loch Garbad. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great weekend 👍🙂Paul
It's always nice to have a destination when you are hiking, like this unique library. I was quite surprised to see all the momentos, very special place! Such a lovely island with green everywhere, the rain makes its impression. Loch Garbad certainly has a lot of nice trees. Great exploration! 🚶♂📖👍👍📽
This sure was a very unique library with lots of notes left by visitors. You could stay there all day reading them and still not read them all. They call the Isle of Arran Scotland in miniature because of the varying terrain and features. I'm glad you enjoyed the explore and the captured views. Thank you so much for coming along. Have a great week 🙂👍
yay! i've been waiting to see this place since the ferry ride. eas mor... i agree, not a bad waterfall at all, my friend, it's gorgeous! and then there were more of them. 🥳did you leave a note in the library? "the hermit was here!" maybe they should plant some more trees. i like them. it was unclear if they were cut down or natural fall. and yay for a hermit friendly walk, even though it got a bit sketchy around the loch. worth it for the views! who was the picture of in the freedom bar? this walk was filled with so many pretty colors, paul. any filtering or do i just need to be even more jealous of your hikes? 🤣hope you have an awesome week, paul! 🛴❤
Hi Anne, well I managed to get around to editing one from the Isle of Arran. I do have a few more to come from Arran. The Eas Mor waterfall wasn't bad but the one on the next walk trumps it 🙂 I didn't leave a note in the Library. I did look for a pen but there was just crayons and no paper as such left. With regards the trees I think it was a bit of both. In the UK a lot of the wooded areas are man made so they can cut them down for wood. They can be eerie places as the animals tend to stay away from man made woods. I'm not sure who the picture was of in the freedom bar. I only had a quick look inside. Looks like a place where groups have get togethers. A great place for them I'd say if the midgies don't get ya. And I do no filtering at all on the colours and they are just straight out of the camera. However I do have my own settings for my GoPro and don't have it all on automatic so I'm glad the colours look good 🙂Thank you very much for watching. Have an awesome week yourself 🙂👍Paul
The library sure was a unique place. Not sure how it took to gather all those paper notes from people. The waterfall was super but a pity you couldn't get a closer look very easily.
Loch Garbad looks like a beautiful place to explore, the little cafe looks so cute! Beautiful views across the coast there, everything looks so calm and still. The walk to the waterfall looks absolutely gorgeous, I loved the sign saying bow your heads! Lovely waterfall xx The library is so cool! What an amazing place and such a creative idea and those messages were so heartfelt. Really enjoyed this video, the walk to the lake was gorgeous x
I'm glad you enjoyed this explore on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. It sure did have quite the variety of landscapes on the walk. The library was a pretty unique place . Thank you very much for watching. Have a great weekend 🙂
Hi Paul, a great intro with that wonderful waterfall. I loved the charming library in the woods with all those handwritten notes. What a sweet idea, so cool. Beautiful trail through the woodland. Shame all those trees were knocked down. The loch and little stream were lovely. Thanks for your brilliant vlog!
Hi Julie n Lucy, the library is certainly a unique place and shows not all the libraries are being shut in the UK. The walk was a little different for me but was lovely nonetheless. I'm glad you enjoyed coming along. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 🙂👍Paul
Hi there friend, that was really a beautiful hike immersed in the wild beauty of nature 👍😍 Love the waterfalls. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us 👍🥰 Happy Sunday 🙏💕👋
Wow! Such a beautiful place to hike. But that little library in the woods is so cute and unique! I love the grass growing on the roof. The note mementos are so cool. Such lovely little notes there too. Loch Garbad is lovely. I don't blame you for turning back if the bogs are bad. Definitely don't want to be knee deep in them haha. The freedom bar is so cute. A lovely exploration as always. Thanks for taking us along! :)
It looked like the library had a head of hair with the grass on top ha ha. Lots of little notes pinned everywhere. Loch Garbad was lovely but the bogs not so lovely. I could have done with a beer at the freedom bar. I'm glad you enjoyed the explore. Thank you very much for coming along. Have a great weekend ahead
That library is sure something unusual. But the amount of letters within is just incredible. The area in Scotland is just as beautiful as I have seen so often. It is an amazing place and we should finally get around visiting. If only the visa was not so annoying for Georgians.
The library is very unusual. You could stay there all day and not read every note. The Isle of Arran is known as Scotland in miniature as it has a bit of everything. I hope to visit again one day soon as I didn't get to do everything I wanted. Then again there are also other parts of Scotland I want to visit. You will have to let me know if you ever plan on making the visit. I heard visas can be a real pain as I have a Chinese friend who has shied away from visiting the UK for that very reason.
What a beautiful area for a hike! Loved the moss covered trees and the loch. The cabin was very cool too. Good thing you turned around if it was that boggy along the shoreline. I hope you are having a great weekend!
Hi Anita,I'm glad you enjoyed this explore on the Isle of Arran. It sure did have a bit of everything. The library in the woods was certainly unique. I wasn't a fan of the bogs and I made the right decision turning back. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you're also having a great weekend 🙂👍Paul
What a beautiful area! The trail was so lush and just beautiful. Looks like you had to do the limbo some on trail. The library in the woods was so interesting. There were so many different landscapes on the trek. Spectacular views and lovely waterfall. I enjoyed following along 😀
I'm glad you enjoyed this explore on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. It sure did have a variety of terrain and the library was certainly unique. Thank you very much for taking time to watch. Have a great weekend 🙂👍Paul
Just checked out your Isle of Arran video-really enjoyed it! The Eas Mor Library in the woods is such a cool find, and that waterfall is pretty awesome. The hike to Loch Garbad looks super relaxing. Thanks for sharing this nice little adventure! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
Hi Simon, I'm glad you enjoyed this explore on the Isle of Arran. The Eas Mor library sure was a unique place and Loch Garbad very peaceful. Thank you very much for taking time to watch 👍🙂 Paul
Absolutely wonderful Paul. Lovely views across to Ailsa Craig. Gorgeous hike and loved the little “library” how cool was that! They say Arran is Scotland in miniature and certainly looked it with all the bogs - good decision to turn back . Definitely good to be not raining!! Loved that waterfall at the start too mate - quite spectacular even though it was small Freedom Bar a strange addition to the route 😃 Nice one Paul mate hope you’re having a good week. We are thinking of heading for Arran next year.
HI Dave, they do say Arran is Scotland in miniature but I wasn't a fan of the bogs. It was a walk with a bit of everything and good so see not all libraries are shutting. No beer in the freedom bar but does look a place where groups of people hang out on in the evening if the midgies don't get them. Thanks for coming along . Have a great week.
Oo the library in the woods interesting! The bird song is lovely! The climb up looks great! Bow your heads for the fallen giants! Nice waterfall! Hidden Scotland and the library in the woods was so cool but also questionable 😂 this looks a great hike Paul! The boggy spot looks a lickle less boggy in places! We love your accent so much ❤ gosh we are watching this after a 9 mile hike which was so overgrown it went terribly wrong 😂 enjoyed this Paul! We must meet up this year! Have a great week ❤
The library is somewhat unique and the walk a little different for me. At least not all libraries are shutting in the UK 😂 It was very boggy around Loch Garbad tho I did probably select the worst time to go when there'd been 3-4 days of torrential rain a few days before. I guess I was just hoping things got better and they didn't. Glad you like my dodgy Manc accent. I should definitely arrange to meet up with you guys before the year is out. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 🙂👍Paul
Hi Paul Hope you are well. That library in the wood looks interesting Those notes were fab The Isle of Arran is on our must visit list so really enjoying your videos from here. Sorry only just watching, we've just got back from our Summer adventures in Scotland ❤🏴 Hope you're having a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend
I'm already starting to plan my trip for Scotland next year. I might venture further north and also get to the Isle of Lewis. The Library in the woods certainly is unique. You should deffo do a trip to the Isle of Arran. There are not too many tourists either. I was in Switzerland over the Bank Holiday and it was awesome. I hope you had a great time in Scotland. Look forward to seeing what you got up to 🙂 Paul
Imagine if it was tipping it down outside and you had to get to the library that day to return a book 😂 hope you got a Hiking Hermit promotional post-it note on there Paul. Looks like a creepy cabin in the woods from outside. The falls look great. What did happen to the trees 😮 lots of stepping stones. Lochs look lovely. Could definitely see myself camping there, midges and bogs permitting. Cracking first part on Arran Paul
Hi Matt, well it was tipping it down before I started this walk. I had a coffee in that cafe hoping it would stop. Unfortunately didn't do the promotional post in the Library but would probably get lost in the multitude of notes somewhat like my videos 😂 I think most of the trees were felled by the loggers tho they were probably planted for that purpose. It did look like some had been felled by the wind up on the ridge tho. I think I tried to get around Loch Garbad at the worst time as it was not long after we had that 3-4 days of torrential heavy rain. Anyway turning back wasn't a bad idea and I did manage the rest of the walk after a drive round to Whiting Bay...coming next. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂Paul
Enjoyed this hike Paul a very different side to Arron from what I’ve seen a camp by the loch would be brilliant mate wouldn’t it 👌🏻 The library was amazing (new to me that ) thanks for flagging that up 👍 ATB Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Hi Simon, I'm glad you enjoyed it. A little damp around that loch. The library sure was a unique place and something different. Not all libraries are shutting in the UK. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂Paul
The library in the woods certainly is unique. I'd hope nobody would burn it down tho there is less chance of it as it's on island with a small population. I'm glad you enjoyed the explore. Thanks for watching 🙂
I had the pleasure of watching your entire hike as I ate my lunch Joking Hermit! I had to google the word "boggy;" a new word for me:-) This was a very sweet hike and I'm glad you made your way out of the boggy maze & loved the smashing views! Did you write a note? I look forward to part two!
Ah you're too kind watching my entire hike. I hope it didn't put you off your lunch. I'm surprised you didn't know what boggy is, I taught you a new term. I didn't leave a note but wish I had done now but there was no pen or proper paper. I should have been proactive and took my own had I known. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂 The Joking Hermit
Aisle Craig is wonderful & one of those iconic islands that you can spot from lots of places. Not sure if you've seen my pics but was good to see it from my last holiday accommodation. .... I don't know why they named a tomato after it though 🤔😃 This looked a good walk for if the weather was a bit breezy for out in the open, though a hermit would have to duck under some of those fallen trees. Good job you went prepared with the right gear as it all sounded a bit soggy. Always a tough decision to turn back but well done for making the right choice. I was intrigued by what the library was going to offer perhaps a Famous five adventure but no haha Did you take your ticket just in case haha ? Have to admit it spooked me a bit, perhaps all a bit eerie. Anyhow looked Hermit friendly enough and pleased we are getting to see part 2 ... sometime soon I hope 😊
It was pretty cool seeing Ailsa Craig on this walk and the lighthouse on Pladda Island. I didn't expect Loch Garbad to be quite so boggy but I made the best decision turning back. Anyway nothing lost as I still do the other half of the walk and probably get better doing it that way. The library sure was a unique place. At least they're not all shutting down in the UK. I hope to have part 2 out very soon 🙂
The weather doesn't seem to help you on your journey.😒😒 It was a wonderful trip, though. It was a wise choice for dangerous roads. 💕💕👍👍 Thank you for your hard work. I'm looking forward to the next episode. I wish you a very lucky schedule...❤❤
The weather wasn't the best but it did brighten up as the day went on. I think I made the right decision turning back when I did. I'm glad you enjoyed the explore. Thank you very much for coming along. I hope you are keeping well 🙂👍

Hi Simon, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for coming along. I hope you're keeping well.
Very nice area. the cabin is fabulous 👍👍
Interesting library, Paul. The falls would have been stunning but for all the trees getting the best view😊.

And I do no filtering at all on the colours and they are just straight out of the camera. However I do have my own settings for my GoPro and don't have it all on automatic so I'm glad the colours look good 🙂Thank you very much for watching. Have an awesome week yourself 🙂👍Paul
@@TheHikingHermit jealousy it is then! 🤣
Interesting place to have a library. All the papers inside it were really interesting. The waterfall is lovely.
Nice hike and video. Have a great day 😊
That library is sure something unusual.
Super 🙂

Cheers,
Simon - Tales From Abroad
Hi Simon, I'm glad you enjoyed this explore on the Isle of Arran. The Eas Mor library sure was a unique place and Loch Garbad very peaceful. Thank you very much for taking time to watch 👍🙂 Paul
Absolutely wonderful Paul.
Lovely views across to Ailsa Craig.
Gorgeous hike and loved the little “library” how cool was that!
They say Arran is Scotland in miniature and certainly looked it with all the bogs - good decision to turn back .
Definitely good to be not raining!!
Loved that waterfall at the start too mate - quite spectacular even though it was small
Freedom Bar a strange addition to the route 😃
Nice one Paul mate hope you’re having a good week.
Hi Paul
Hope you are well.
That library in the wood looks interesting
Those notes were fab
The Isle of Arran is on our must visit list so really enjoying your videos from here.
Sorry only just watching, we've just got back from our Summer adventures in Scotland ❤🏴
Hope you're having a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend
I'm already starting to plan my trip for Scotland next year. I might venture further north and also get to the Isle of Lewis. The Library in the woods certainly is unique. You should deffo do a trip to the Isle of Arran. There are not too many tourists either. I was in Switzerland over the Bank Holiday and it was awesome. I hope you had a great time in Scotland. Look forward to seeing what you got up to 🙂 Paul
Beautiful video my friend and beautiful place 😍 have a great week 😃
Enjoyed this hike Paul a very different side to Arron from what I’ve seen a camp by the loch would be brilliant mate wouldn’t it 👌🏻
The library was amazing (new to me that ) thanks for flagging that up 👍
ATB Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Hi Simon, I'm glad you enjoyed it. A little damp around that loch. The library sure was a unique place and something different. Not all libraries are shutting in the UK. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂Paul
this "libary" in woods was interesting! i hope nobody will burn it someday..... cool nature scenery during walk :)
The weather doesn't seem to help you on your journey.😒😒
It was a wonderful trip, though. It was a wise choice for dangerous roads. 💕💕👍👍
Thank you for your hard work.
