In Casino Royale book it is said that James Bond looked a bit like Hoagy Carmichael, so its seems that Timothy Dalton was the most similar to this etalon.
This is my favorite Hoagy song ever. Plus, its a real treat to see Dorothy Dandridge in an early dance performance. She was beautiful! So were the girls at the piano. I love this vid--two thumbs up!
Very good song and the video is fantastic. The stunts made by the tray carrier and the equilibrium he maintains despite his motions are amazing. And the scene of the girl who first tries to play the piano and then to get his cigarrete is good also. Very entertaining.
Good and somewhat funny song but one of those I really like to hear. And the video is also very good too and gives one a few chuckles which is what one needs to forget one's problems sometimes. Very good.
You, sir, are a savant. There aren't many people who know that Ian Fleming saw a tuxedo clad Hoagy at a dinner party and thought that that's what James Bond should look like.
una pasada.............jajajajajajajaja.......vaya al carajo os tiempos actuales...................jajajajajajaja.......clase y mas clase en el pasado.......totallllllllllllllllll
Gorgeous Dorothy Dandridge with the amazing Nicholas Brothers doing Chattanooga Choo-Cho with Glenn Miller is unforgettable.
Hoagy: pure genius. Composer, pianist, actor, poet, singer, ad infinitum.
He was also an attorney.
My grandpa would play this in the 90s on the piano any time I slept in. RIP
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 74yo Aussie fan.
DOROTHY DANDRIDGE HAD A FLAWLESS FACE AND BODY!
This guy was brilliant! Just watched him with Bogie and Bacall in To Have and Have Not.
Wonderful 🎉❤😂
Love this song. I first heard it on an episode of Miami Vice about 10 years old. Loved it ever since.

Thanks for posting this. Hoagy was great.

My mother used to sing lazy bones to me in the 50's
well the song worked because u r not lazy now, right?

There is something about Dorothy. Eyes are drawn to her and never want to leave...... even with the waiter's balancing act.
yes! I love dorothy also!
But that is an impressive tray-balancing act.
yup. only a lazy bones can pull that off
Even though i'm very young and never heard of this guy before.. I must say.. this guy has some very good songs and this song I like very much now :)
I hope you've heard more in the last nine years. He was the Great American Songwriter.

Parece mais antigo,mas é de 1941
Good and somewhat funny song but one of those I really like to hear. And the video is also very good too and gives one a few chuckles which is what one needs to forget one's problems sometimes. Very good.
Great oldie
Hoagy composed the music, the lyric was written by the brilliant Johnny Mercer who wrote the lyrics (and often the music) for many famous songs
i love this music
Too Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Favorite club I go to called "Lazy bones" @ Marrickville where I was hatched
mr carmichael very cool a fan
...she's dancing not like Tina Turner, but like Josephine Baker. Remember, it's 1941.
Carmichael wrote this song and many other great ones
My mom sung this to me when she was waking me up.
from 3 day sleep?
Paul Robeson does a great version of this, I like this by Hoagy though.
Классика жанра! Супер!
>LOVE the MILLS BROTHERS version BEST...from 1933 !!!
There's a yoga workout with a tray I wouldn't try! Great routine, wonder how many times he had to try that to make it all the way through the number?
first take for lazy bones
Wonderful find! Too bad ratings are disabled.
For the record, Hoagy wrote the music, Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics.
That's what I was about to comment, Johnny Mercer should be credited more for all his work
Spoken like a true Sherlock Holmes Fan! :D
If you find out any information Grayce Gadson please let me know...Peter Ray is my Father.
Peter Ray dad is pretty awesome.
the original lazy bones?
Hey! It's James Bond!!!!
You, sir, are a savant. There aren't many people who know that Ian Fleming saw a tuxedo clad Hoagy at a dinner party and thought that that's what James Bond should look like.
National Unknown Hero - Peter Ray. Too bad he is not lauded like Others. How can correct this?

hey is that oliver hardys voice in the end?
It certainly is!
Superb! MUsically, codemically, and humanly! And note, in 1941, an interracial cast--though Dandridge's "racial" characteristics are downplayed.
@webboffin I think Tina does the dance the black girl does.
Is this a Soundie"? I don't think it's from a movie; am I right?
Soundie.
harryoakley Thank you!
Rafael Storm
What genre is this?
guess lazy bones?
jazz :)
Get off my ciggy! 43secs lol
Has a drag on a joint at the end;just 'cause he can;bless
“Even? No... not even close.”
It's difficult to watch this seeing as how racist it is... but Dorothy Dandridge is so lovely that it's worth the effort.
If you think this is racist, you think racist.
Mycroft's theme tune.
Don't touch the piano
@charliebubblesoar She did favor Lena Horne .
Dorothy and Lena did not look alike.
K9
I wonder how much the tobacco companies paid for a placement in this ad.
thalassocracy Nothing. Smoking was fully accepted at the time and just a way of life.
Yikes. I have such conflicted feelings about this video. It's fascinating, beautiful, shockingly racist.
It sure is racist
