@@isaaclatham7393 standard soda cans are 12 oz. The stubby "half cans" are 8 oz. They also make some regular height, thin bodied cans at 8 oz.
That dr pepper bottle is part of the 16oz 6 packs.
I dont really know what you're trying to say with 8 oz cans. They're available, but you only ever see 8 oz cans at like summer camps and cheap graduations.

now. The horrific visual of the scene still haunts my
mind to this day. He had 17 years clean & sober and out of nowhere he just started drinking again and within 6 months of him losing his sobriety he committed suicide. I try to tell everyone to stay in touch with the people who love you and don’t ever feel like you have to fight this battle alone. i know i just went on a long rant but i felt like i just needed to get that off my chest.

12oz Dr pepper
1 "cap" (the bottle cap) of Tenquery Dry Gin
1/2 shot fireball
1 shot 151
2 shots of Captain Morgan (private stock, but if you can get the 1867 it's better, vanilla undertones)
It is by far my favorite creation, even though I can't drink anymore.

Man, ive been sober for 8 months now. And seeing Dissarono and Dr. Pepper activated my taste buds. This used to be my go to mix after a long day at work. Im proud to be sober, i wasnt a heavy drinker or anything like that. I had surgery, quit drinking during recovery, and wanted to see how long i could go without alcohol.

Bartenders handbook says NEVER stir anything with soda or beer in it: the bubbles will do all the stirring needed before you can get it to the customer.

i would stir it, but not alot, just about a single spin or 2 just to make sure it quickly moves trough the glass, unless i pour the alcohol first and soda later, then it dont need a stirring since it does end up mixed because of the fizz, if however you add in the alcohol last then give it a single stir/swirl

When mixing drinks, you add the fizzy to the alcohol as in put in the alcohol first then add the fizzy.... if there is ice in the recipe then add the ice first then the alcohol then the fizzy.
When adding anything fizzy, pour down a tilted glass or the receptacle you are using leveling up towards the end and then dumping in the fizzy at the end to cause it to foam slightly.

If you put the alcohol in first, you don't need to mix it. Alcohol floats on water so it mixes itself as it makes its way to the top
This is how I've always done it.
Never knew alcohol floats though, my logic was the carbonation going crazy will mix it because it's all bubbling lol
The agitation of adding the mixer will help to mix it, but because ethanol is water soluble, it will tend to dilute into the mixer, not float upward through it, so its lighter density isn't actually contributing any meaningful mixing action. That's why most alcohol will tend to sit at the bottom of a drink that doesn't get mixed, even if you add the mixer second. Dilution is much slower than separation.
Or simply the strong mixing effect caused by the physics of adding a tsunami of dr.pepper to a puddle of Disaronno.....

Neat trick if you have a shaken can or bottle of pop: place it on a flat surface normally and turn it several times before opening. You won't get fizz.
This is a twist on the classic "Amarreto and Coke". One of my favorites. Vanilla coke was made for a reason lol. (Amaretto/Disarrono etc.. are vanilla liqueur)

I dont know if you have these in USA but here in South Africa we have its Rum called Jack Tarr and with a soda called Iron Brew.
2 shots of rum with 330ml Iron brew with some ice.

I HIGHLY recommend you try Disaronno and milk, its actually delicious! It tastes like a sweet pastry, to be specific it tastes like a Polish pastry called Makowiec(Poppy seed cake/pastry) and its amazing! Trust me! Also, you can go heavy on the Disaronno😊

Try 2 parts A&W rootbeer and 1 part woodford bourbon. Usually after the first cup I’ll split it half and half then gradually pour more whiskey and less soda for the following cups

To avoid stirring soda drinks I always put the soda last, so it mixes in the pour, not shure if its right, but its how i do it
This is my goto friday evening drink. But Pour your shots in first and then add the DR.P no need to stir.

I remember being in high school. I used to do the same drink because my friends and I all thought they both tasted like Dr pepper but we filled the glass in the opposite ratio. Almost to the top with the alcohol and a splash of Dr pepper haha tasted great! Try it that way next time. But as adults now, just do neat vodka instead. Clean favor gets the job done more efficiently.
If you pour the Dr. Pepper down your bar spoon (and it has the twisty handle) it will keep it from foaming over. Nice drink
I have a home made premix that adds 2 more items to boost flavor and then provide kick. When you premix 4 bottles, you end up with premix.
Disaronno and simply Apple. Hands down the best. 50/50 mix is still fine.
If you want to avoid stirring something too much, try to pour the stirrable thing first (you can stir the liquor here so that goes first. Then with a light rocking motion pour the unstirrable thing.
Source, i would do this with nesquik, hot cocoa powder, etc to avoid dirtying a spoon.
