  • This video shows my process for digitally sculpting a Bear Head Ring in Blender 3.1. A blank signet ring model was used to start the sculpt (made in a separate video). The sculpt was done with reference images on a separate monitor using PureRef software. I used the default sculpting tools that come with blender (Elastic Deform, Move, Clay, ClayStrips, Smooth, and Crease).

Thank you! I think a good way to start is to watch some UA-cam tutorials on the fundamentals of 3D modeling in Blender just to get a feel for it and then start branching out into the projects that interest you the most. Learning to model simple objects (cups, chairs, etc.) Is a great way to start but It's always best to work on projects you are excited about so you are more inclined to stick with it and keep practicing.
Best of luck on your Blender journey! 😃

Amazing video. I really want to learn to do this, but Im struggling immensely to find any resources on the fundamentals of jewellery design... for example, something as simple as prong settings; how thick they should they should be, how much the should curve, where they should curve, how long they should be, how curved the tips should be, different types of prongs and when/why you should use the different types. Or how to correctly and properly create a shank, where it should curve, how much it should curve, how thick it should be etc. Just simple jewellery design principles. I'm shocked how difficult it is to find this information.

I absolutely understand this frustration. I always try to learn as much as I can before starting anything new and there's so much that goes into jewelry design and the reasons behind certain decisions (like prong length, angle, thickness, etc) that it can be really aggravating not to have those answers before starting.
I'll try and do my best to show more and more of those useful details whenever possible in my project videos. Thanks for the great feedback 😊
