Great video and info!! Siri do you have a link for that Calavera racing? I think it is that you’re saying? Where we can get the pinion angle information? How’s everything holding up with your build? And would you change anything different? Thank you sir.
I bought them from summit racing as far as the caltracs. As far as done things different would've been first a ford 9 inch but supposedly these ford 8.8s hold up too. If this rear fails or the driveshaft I will get an aftermarket rear and driveshaft for it. One day I plan to add alot more power to this truck so I'll have to upgrade some of these things regardless.
Yes the info/help I used is from a channel called "the fabrication series". In my opinion it was extremely helpful. There's 2 or 3 videos all about narrowing it from him. m.ua-cam.com/users/results?sp=mAEA&search_query=The+fabrication+series+8.8
They're the ones for a 3.25 axle and I believe I got the 7 inch ones when i did it. They have a 9 inch length one as well. I would have to look it up to be sure on which I used it's been awhile
I have a 96 s10 blazer with a 6.0 on nitrous so I had put a 8.8 rear end and everything’s connected right but I’m getting nothing to the rear brakes just my front brakes would you happen to know what’s going on ?
Do you have manual brakes or power? If it were mine and I was for sure everything was hooked up right and system was bled I would check the prop valve next. I had read somewhere some people have issues with a prop valve intended for disc/drum brakes when going disc/disc setup but the article I read also said some don't have any issues.
Looking good! i'll be adding the bars , shocks and split mono springs to my 94 Sonoma, I notice your not using the split mono spring. Do you feel they aren't worth it with the stock spring being capable of performing the same function equally?
If I weren't "budget" piecing together this truck I would probably use the split mono also. However I wanted to try to use as many stock parts as possible for now but may change a few things later down the road. I have saw both splits and stock on people's builds so I am guessing there could be alot of different opinions on which is better. If you do get the split ones I would definitely be interested to see they work out!
Very well done. Getting ready to do this to a S10 Blazer and this video has been very helpful for planning. Thanks
Best of luck glad it could help in your build
great video.
awesome video you got some good information I put a 8.8 in my Subaru followed the same guy to shorten mine.
Yes I saw your swap into the Subaru also! That video was really helpful I agree.
