I love these movies, I love Bob Hope! Hilarious, adventure, romance, and it's beautiful to boot! Those costumes, the settings, just amazing!

It's too bad they didn't make these old films in color but before television they didn't need to to get paying customers into the theaters.
Now in the age of the Internet we can see how priceless these old films are compared to the banality of today's tv series.
Will there ever again be another Bob Hope?:- he was so amazing!
His other costume comedies, "Casanova's Big Night" and "the Princess & the Pirate", are in glorious TechniColor. They're all lots of fun. Bob just might be my third favorite funnyman after Groucho Marx and Curly Howard.
I myself do prefer the old Black & White films much more than the ones in color. It was an art form with the lighting and shadowing. Especially the with the horror, mysteries and film noir. Dark and suspenseful which made them better. Even the comedy films.

Patrick Knowles was also one of those actors who was not appreciated the way he should have been. He was an extremely versatile actor---- comedy or drama!!
