Just repaired my 04 1500 glass. Glass fit perfectly and instructions online were spot on. Tip, nitrile gloves are a must when working with urethane and BUY A QUALITY CAULK GUN! I used my old pos and it made it very stressful. Have everything that you need ready before you begin. And don't forget to urethane the latch keeper before you take your damn gloves off. Brads instruction steps are spot on. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I feel much better now. I was quoted about the same and I'm extremely happy that I can repair the broken window for a fraction of the price I was quoted.
This sealed the deal for me and I ordered my panel. Thanks.
I have the same problem. I would like to know if it is advisable to remove all the pieces of glass. If I can remove it, will the glue add without a problem?
hey where did you find just the corner glass separately?
where I use the glass I have the same problem
Looks good from my house
Also sometimes I share this, the Bible says that GOD loves us so much that he sent his son JESUS CHRIST to this earth and HE lived a perfect sinless life. And JESUS went to a cross and gave HIS life for us.And rose again in 3 days and who ever will receive JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOR AND ASK HIM TO COME INTO THEIR HEART AND FORGIVE THEIR SINS,HE WILL TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN.
Amen 🙏
How do i go about getting the piece for my passenger side? Everyone around here says i have to replace my whole back glass.
Call Brad, he'll hook you up
I have to replace my passenger side rear...not happy about all the broken glass not being able to come off. I haven't repaired it yet..🙄 ugh
Use the black primer that they sell to hide the remaining glass by painting athe back side of the glass. Use masking tape to creat a nice line
Don't do it this way loo
Buy a pneumatic air powered scraper and in a couple of hours you can remove all the glass. I just did it and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be
Did you only remove the pieces of glass or also the drop?
@@montoyadeejay4418 I just removed the pieces of glass. It took a little while but it’s didn’t damage anything
@@montoyadeejay4418 you’re welcome and no problem
can you do closeup and side view of final weather strip? awesome video bro, some of these comments are ridiculous lol
Hey how is it holding up any leaks ?
Perfect , however, many years and miles later, thanks for asking
You think a 20$ heat gun from harbor freight should loosen the glass?
For anyone wondering, heat gun was no help its heat resistant
I've never tried it, but I highly suspect that if you can order that glass piece, you can also remove that broken glass you glued over. Typically, my shop just replaces the whole thing, but the next time I fix someone's back slider, I'll look and see if it's just factory urethane bonding the old glass on. I never paid attention. If it is, the broken glass can be easily removed with the proper urethane scraper tool, but it shouldn't be removed entirely. Just make it as short as it can be. Then primer the glass and also primer where it will be seated, urethane the glass with a V bead all the way around and slap it on. Make sure it's centered properly and put a couple pieces of painters tape on there to keep it from sliding/falling off.
Yeah I bought a pneumatic scraper and removed all the broken glass and bought the single piece of glass off of eBay
Where can i order the panel

Just fix it the right way the first time ! Cutting corners will cost u in the end .....let a professional fix it
Pift..
This option has proven itself
I’ve been doing auto glass for30 yrs , this is Not how u repair a rear window . This is called a cob job ! It will leak , it’s just a matter of time ! Guarantee...... good cob job tho 👍
@@jeffobrien333 naw, the black 3m glues is complete on all three sides and the weather stripping that seals the slider is as good as OEM.
Over a grand for a professional full replacement, maybe if it were a show truck
@@MikePailliotet its a cob job bro...
@@Thelegendl23
Still working fine, no leaks, no one's ever said the word..
Cob this...
Just do it correctly. You need a full replacement.
3 years and counting with no issues
For cheapest guys that's good..
But for me look like ssht...

True that

Power sliding, privacy, heated, cost $990+ factory comes in one piece, can’t just change one of the three
I just did that to my buddy's 2005 ram 2500. Safelite is $514 for the whole back new installed. Gonna let them do it
Only got $90 for my scrap metal, what a loss for me.
It's 1250 now
SafeLite quote me $1000 just now. August 2023
This is so bad. Hopefully this truck isn’t in a rollover accident.
yeah, that window could possibly keep the whole cab from collapsing...
@@MikePailliotet The back glass does in fact contribute to the structural integrity of the vehicle.
@@cxs379 yeah, ok, so what are you selling that this video is threatening?
@@MikePailliotet safety. Some things shouldn’t be “diyed”
Lmao everything is like a paper plate now everything is made to brake so you can buy new
