Great video! Personally, I like these trains (Personally because they are Japanese and I am a fan of Anime) but I still miss the Class 91s and the HSTs ofcourse.
IETs are so much better than HSTs, tbh i've never got stuck at Reading waiting for someone to reach out and open the door in order to get out for my next connection
Great Video like always! Clicked as soon as I saw the notification! These trains are Ok, but I found the GWR sets a lot less comfortable than the ex LNER HST I rode on EMR. These trains are not designed for enthusiasts, and I think they look sleek and modern. Using Japanese technology was a good idea seeing how they have progressed with rail travel compared to us back home. These trains are way better than the trains that ran before them. Upgraded, brighter and more energy-efficient lighting, guaranteed plug sockets, guaranteed automatic doors which is better for safety, better acceleration and braking than previous models, quieter and better for the environment due to Bi-Mode allowing for using Electric being used at the most amount of times. I think a big controversy with these trains, as well as the voyagers, is the general length of these trains. These 5 Car trains (that sometimes run in singular formation and unable to be walked through)replaced guaranteed 8 car HST Trains. I wish LNER and GWR, EMR, Lumo and Avanti had all ordered their trains longer (10 car IETS straight from production.
Absolutely agree with your comments about the length of the trains. It can be frustrating especially when services are short-formed because the capacity is almost halved. That said, when you're on a 5-car service anyway, capacity is lacking. These trains have a lot of general improvements, but I also think too many rail enthusiasts expect new trains to be designed revolving around them and their interests.
@@tothetrains It’s just people not ready for change! These trains will probably be missed when they will go, like how the 508s were hated when they entered service and now everyone is sad for them to go. I think the biggest complaint generally is the comfort, and tbh I felt the ergonomics of the IET seats were not as good as the Aventra seats. Train Spotters would notice subtle downgrades in designs of trains, whereas a regular user will not.
They do look like beautiful trains, the seats do look a bit stiff however but I'm sure that'll be fixed, as for the trains being slightly bumpy, they haven't been in service that long so there's obviously going to be teething troubles, but I have faith LNER will fix it, can't wait to ride on one myself
Lumo to operate on the West Coast Main Line. Well apparently you got Caledonian Sleeper that operates on the West Coast Main Line from London Euston to Glasgow Central and north of Scotland. And Grand Central were going to introduce a new open access service to Blackpool North and Liverpool Lime Street before Coronavirus came and pulled the plug on that proposed route. But if Lumo is successful then maybe they could introduce a new service to Blackpool North with ordering more extra Class 803 AT300 IETs.
I love the azumas much better than most trains on the railway.
smooth transitions and animations 👍
Thanks!
This is some epic editing seb, great job!
Thanks very much!
I haven't watched the full video but I can tell it is good.
Another fantastic piece Seb, great detail and love the animation touches as well!
Much appreciated - I'm glad you liked it!

Haha, yes, that is indeed an upside of the automatic doors

In simple words: train go zoom
couldnt agree with you any more on that one

The /2s were introduced on my birthday lol

Soeb uploaded some quality content, greeting pro driver Rowan (not the bad driver) 👍

What do you use for your thumbnails?
Photoshop - it's mostly just editing a template
@@tothetrains ah ok, thanks
I'm sceptical of bi-mode trains in general, seeing them as an excuse for not electrifying lines.
Germany's ICE3 trains are far superior to class801.
