  • Part 2 of the 3-video series of how to deep clean a Miele Blizzard CX1 includes: disassembling, scrubbing, and drying the filter(s), dust container and related components.
If you see fit, you can soak most of the plastic parts in a cold bucket (or sink) with a disinfectant to eliminate viruses, bacteria, mold, odors, etc. Make sure you use a low-reside all-purpose cleaner that is certified to be a disinfectant.
I like to use Pine-sol, but only the original pine scent of Pine-sol is classified as a disinfectant. If a cleaner is a certified disinfectant, it will say it on the front label of the product; something along the lines of “kills 99.97% of….”
    NOTE:
Avoid bleach as it leaves a reside that can be difficult to remove.
Make sure you rinse all the residue off of each part before allowing to dry.
    TIP:
    - Use distilled water to clean the GORE wash the premotor filter. I did not, but I did not have any on hand and am about to replace the one in this machine.
    - Non-distilled water contains a lot of minerals that will get trapped within the fibers of the GORE premotor filter and will not come back out, clogging the filter and restricting airflow. Discoloration of the filter’s fibers after washing is a good indicator that this has occurred, so just be mindful of this.
(This may still happen with distilled water, but it will be minimized compared to using regular tap water or filtered water).

How did you remove that smaller triangular filter from within the main filter?

If you are referring to the screen filter within the dust bin - pull up on the thumb tab with your thumb. Screw driver is not necessary at all.

@@Cleaning_Hero I discovered if I pushed down on the clear end of that filter hard enough and pulled on it at the same time, it would come out. I saw it on your other Part 1 or 2. Thanks a lot cuz it was driving me crazy as it was filthy. Haha

I did this and now the screen filter will not go back in. Just keeps falling out when I put the dust canister upright.
