Your dad and uncle Rob are two very cool guys IMHO. And Logan saying the headlight was the hardest part of the turbo swap had me laughing out loud for real.
Correct my dads Colorado with the 8 speed lost the converter at 6k miles. It needs an upgraded one and the GM new fluid for that issue. We went to the dealer and they tried to give us regular ATF we had to ask for the new fluid I think it’s Mobile 1. But the issue does come back once it starts it means the clutches in the converter are done for.
We all have an Uncle Rob, properly he doesn't flinch. I have several. All my Uncle's have done things you can't even get away with anymore. 13 fun Uncle's between both sides of the family. I learned how to party, and properly maintain, enjoy and Break in a vehicle properly since the early 80's.
Dude your dad is a riot with the suttle flexing he his a past and there was hoonary involved and uncle rob straight wild glad they enjoyed uncle rob in its glory
You are a perfect mix of those two you can tell your uncle had alot of influence on your dont give a shit attitude I also think you had more fun than they did
Hands down one of the best videos yet!!!! Best part was when your dad says " I expected it to be really powerful because you built it/done it and I've seen all your videos" that's what proud father who supports his son sounds like! Now lets get your ole man setup right with some power and lets help Uncle Rob fix his transmission or whatever is going on there LOL #MurdaSquad
Been working in the sun all day to get my motorcycle up and running. Finally took it for my first ride this evening. Felt so good to finally get to experience the fruits of my labor. Thing hauls ass too. Today was a good day.
Logan, you literally made me lol when he asked what the hardest part of turboing it was and u said without zero hesitation "the headlight"! Weve all been there with these GM's lol just be thankful they arent aftermarket lights
First off, this is an epic video. Your dad's burnout gets a 10\10 from me. Second that GT500 is beautiful! Third, there's 3 possible causes for the issue with the 2015 Yukon. One is torque converter shudder, which is a common issue on the 2014 and newer GM fullsize trucks. The second is the advanced traction control could be on the fritz. The third possible cause could be bad injectors. Sounds strange, but a customer told me and my boss about his 16 model Yukon shaking like that, and he assumed it was the torque converter issue. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong with the trans and after 3 trips to them he traded it in for something else. They called him later and told him that they replaced the injectors after looking over everything and that had solved the problem.
Pop's first burnout rates a good 7-8 out of 10, the fact that he didn't just do a standing burnout is sikk! You can tell by tge smile on their faces it is genuine. Great family!
EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT!!!! LOVE IT!!!! I have a turbo Ranger now , my first turbo engine vehicle ever. Ive had nitrous cars and have a Vortech supercharged foxbody with nitrous. But a 10R80 i4 turbo with all the bolt ons and a Borg Warner S300SXE. MAN i love that TURBO PULL!!!
Find the traction control button, hold it until the advanced traction control shuts off. If it still does it then theres a problem, if it stops shaking then its just shitty gm traction control that breaks shit.
I give your dad's first burnout an 8. But the the video as whole a 10. Nothin like an original purchased vehicle passed down and then come back to do this. So awesome
Such a cool video. Not only to see but I would imagine it's pretty far up there for you to have made it. I give the burnout a 9. Now, get to yellow belly mannn...
Reprogram the TCM then do a fast learn with a GM scanner. Then do a fluid exchange with the newer style fluid. Drive it at least 500 miles and if it still does it, it needs a valve/solenoid body plus programming and another fast learn. HTH
Good morning Mitchell! It's been a while for me. I so enjoyed the look on uncle Rob's face when he lit it up! I would SO love to see him drive the Escalde. You can tell he respects it, but he ain't afraid of it. Wonderful video with your Dad and uncle Rob. Thank you for bringing us along for the ride. 😊
Your dad's burnout was a solid 8.5. Call it a 9 just for "beginner" status. Uncle Rob is so gangster just chillin' with one hand on the wheel and the arm on the console as if he did that every day. Love it! If they're really down, you should definitely turbo their rides too!
Dude, your Dad & Uncle Rob are cool as hell!! 😎 Comment of the video has to be Logan.. what’s been the most difficult part of the build? …‘the Headlight’ 🤣
That Escalade has either the 6l80 or the 8l90 transmission. It looks like a classic case of torque converter shudder under acceleration. Big time issue with those two trans. You can try a fluid change but most likely the front pump and converter are junk
I think it's cool to see your uncle and your dad driving something that they shared and then it being souped up and then out having fun in it something that they made a lot of good memories in together it's cool
Great vid. Ur family seems cool , it was funny pre staging you have your dads look, stage and send you’re like uncle rob. Lmao lug nut don’t fall far from the tire!🇺🇸💪🏻

And yes by all means turbo those Yukons !!! Oh those 8 Speeds did that, there are all types of class action things going on about those , GMs answer is it is what it is
They both need to do turbos and get them lowered. am trying to find a yukon xl 2500 to put a procharger on along with a couple little things that way I can use it to pull my enclosed race car trailer around the country. My 07 duramax is great but I want more room than my crew cab dually offers.

I had a 2017 gmc Sierra Denali that had Trans problems. I took mine in and the dealer new exactly what I was talking about when I explained the issue. Mine wasn't as bad as that though. Excellent video!!! It sounds like the Denali (if it is in 2wd) has a bad Eaton Gov-Loc. The Gov-Loc is the GM version of a locker and it is supposed to sense wheel slippage of one rear wheel, maybe one full rotation and then lock up for full posi-traction ike a locker, so I suspect it is malfunctioning. Check the option codes on the sticker inside the glove box door and look for code "G80". That's the only thing I know of that will make the tires chirp as it locks.
