Hi, that's a great video, thanks. Can I bring to your attention a contribution by Peter Erskine, to which I am sort of attached, since Peter has been my drum hero since very early on. Generally, Peter is against any form of spang-a-lane, or as he puts it, playing the ride pattern as a 'three-note grouping'. And also he advises starting with very even quarter notes, and then developing a different phrasing options, accenting 2 and 4, of course, but also accenting the off-beat notes, and-of-2, and and-of-4, which he puts with Elvin Jones style.
