Two kid playing hide and seek with a lot of imagination added to it. I like that the Lion was attracted to the meat. It was cute. This was a pretty nice demo. Nice to see the neighbor with a family, he looked happy. I hope the dev adds more to this.

Well, I won't act like I was hoping for the Hello Neighbor prequel after the game left me disappointed, but this is better than I was expecting. It had some charm to it, especially calling out the tiger plushie with the steak. Now we wait and see if any of the later demos ruin the idea.
It's really cool to see small indie developers get big enough to get their own merch and create prequels and all that, good for these guys

On one hand it's cute and creative, on the other it looks very tedious and repetitive. Maybe next time they'll make the goals clearer.
I feel it isn't so much clear goals but the game has no direction in game design and it's obvious in the original. It was pitched as "Stealth Horror Comedy" and it evolved into a first person adventure game. The problem is though as it's obvious in this one you have a stealth and hunter mechanic that is inconsequential meaning you never need to hide but you also must "float" around areas to complete a puzzle causing a situation where the hunter hunted mechanic is just a looney toons tedium to slow your puzzle solving and it doesn't provide any additional atmosphere or point.
No form of gameplay in this or the original has any symmetry or flow and each part stands sorely out from the other so at some point they decided due to the part of youtube that was successful with this series that it needed to ride on lore and world and the only kind of lore that can be stretched into a community without depth is "deepest lore". It isn't FNAF that despite it's simple structure created a blend of atmosphere and risk reward showing Scott had firm understanding of game design (aside from that terrible wind up box in 2) it's a "we have ideas" game.

I think getting all the little animals is hard enough because the jumping & platforming seemed a bit buggy, but your brother stealing MORE than one was truly annoying. Getting the gopher & shooting the bird doll were the most creative ones imo. Looking at the kids playing was cute. And it seemed the neighbor was happy with his wife & kids... someone watching them got jealous of that familial bliss? Great play through!
Support Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek and figure out almost practically nothing about a story that is absolutely shit! :D
If it was just this as a short game I'd be happy with it. Better than making the game long with empty fillers to take up time

I think the saddest thing is seeing all the support for it in the comments. Ill watch whatever manly puts out cause i want to support him, but shit like this is so vapid id get more entertainment from a can of duster.

To be honest this doesn't look like fun at all to play. It's a scavenger hunt for tiny objects in a gigantic area which just turns tedious after the fourth plush. The lion, groundhog and monkey mechanics were neat ideas and I wish there was more of that, but in the grand picture it's not enough to keep one from being frustrated. As it stands right now it feels like they're padding for gameplay time instead of making an enjoyable small experience fitting for a prequel.

this just made the original story a thousand times more confusing.
I read that someone had a theory that the neighbor had a family and ended up in a car crash where one of his kids (and possibly his wife) died. He become at little too protective of his sole surviving child. And this kinda gives it some credibility.

As cute as the premise is, it was still quite boring. If the actual game is just basically this, I would never want to watch or play it myself.

so why did this game take off like it did? its alpha played better and had less bugs than the release. is it another one of those baldis basics deal where some utter shit gained prominence because a big name played because of course they did its a bait game, how many people actually want to buy games like this and play them compared to just wanting to watch others play it
