Estonia because they've always been under threat of Russian conquest, Sweden because Gotland is under threat, and Hungary because I heard Russia sent a drone with explosives over Hungary, it ended up landing in Croatia and creating a small crater. This is extremely dangerous and not only could cause war in those nations, but mine as well due to Article 5. As someone from Slovakia I would think you would understand the horrors of the Soviet Empire, I've heard plenty of horror stories from relatives, stories of tanks going into their cities and hurting innocent people. Stories of walls and censorship and famine and purges and abuse and secret polices. As Kennedy once said, at least we don't have to build a wall to keep our people in. Most Eastern Europeans tend to agree with that idea, that the Soviet Empire was a brutal empire that conquered their peoples and abused them. This is why most Eastern European nations were actually pretty happy to join NATO. It's always weird that Putin calls it NATO "Expansion" when in reality nations like Poland and Estonia really wanted to be apart of it, hardly an expansion when its just a bunch of nations joining an alliance out of understandable fear from their historically and modernly Imperialist Major Power Neighbor Russia. It is pure gaslighting from Putin to say that any Eastern European nation was unjustified in joining NATO or that it was "expansionism". That's pure manipulation to imply that, NATO is not "expansionism", its the result of Eastern European nations trying to protect their security interests and self-determination from Russian Imperialism. Poles especially have a long history of being subjugated by Russians so they understandably don't want that again, hence them joining NATO, an alliance of democracies that respects them and their right to self-determination unlike Russia. They proved that when they invaded sovereign and democratic Ukraine. I am glad the friends and relatives I have in Europe and especially Eastern Europe are now protected by this alliance of democracies and for the first time in a long time in history can safely be free and independent nations, without being apart of some Turkic, German, or Russian empire. For one of the first times in history, especially recent history, Eastern Europe is self-determining, free, and strong, heavily due to the stability and alliances provided by the US and other NATO members. I am especially glad my Finno-Ugric brothers are no longer subject to Russification campaigns, and most are safely within NATO or closely allied to NATO, protecting them from future Russification campaigns which really are just ethnic cleansing, or at least cultural genocide. They did it all the time in the Soviet Empire, they pretended that was some multi-ethnic empire, but they were constantly Russifying people, sending people to gulags, and replacing them with Russians (ethnic cleansing), they whined about how Anglo-Centric the US was but they were extremely Muscovite-centric, discriminating against all others far more than the West, which would self-reflect and go through a Civil Rights movement. Russia still is, treating Ukraine like someone to be dominated. I just don't understand the NATO hate, it's an alliance of democracies against Authoritarian conquest. Democracies apart are weak, together we are unstoppable. That's the idea. Democracies can get divide et imperad by Authoritarians. This is why NATO benefits Europeans and Americans. Without NATO, we'd all get picked off one by one by China/Russia. With NATO, they have to fight us all or not at all. Great woman. She also makes clear the difference between the elderly (mostly pro Poutine, easily brainwashed) and young (more and more pro western). And concerns about the boys who are mislead and now intimidated to fight this war.
What a brave woman Marina is, people like her give me some hope for humanity in this awful time. The fact she has first hand experience growing up in Cechyna makes this even more powerful. It makes me so glad I live where I do but sad that people have to endure this and stand up for things I take for granted.
Her having experienced it herself at a very young age during the war in Chechnya makes what she did really profound. It's a full circle which led up to what's happening today. It shows how deep an impression it made on her and what she learned from it. I am from the US but I have relatives and friends in Europe, lots of them. I worry for nations like Ukraine, Estonia, Sweden, Hungary, Croatia, and every European ally/friend. My worry for Ukraine is obvious. Estonia because they've always been under threat of Russian conquest, Sweden because Gotland is under threat, and Hungary because I heard Russia sent a drone with explosives over Hungary, it ended up landing in Croatia and creating a small crater. This is extremely dangerous and not only could cause war in those nations, but mine as well due to Article 5. As someone from Slovakia I would think you would understand the horrors of the Soviet Empire, I've heard plenty of horror stories from relatives, stories of tanks going into their cities and hurting innocent people. Stories of walls and censorship and famine and purges and abuse and secret polices. As Kennedy once said, at least we don't have to build a wall to keep our people in. Most Eastern Europeans tend to agree with that idea, that the Soviet Empire was a brutal empire that conquered their peoples and abused them. This is why most Eastern European nations were actually pretty happy to join NATO. It's always weird that Putin calls it NATO "Expansion" when in reality nations like Poland and Estonia really wanted to be apart of it, hardly an expansion when its just a bunch of nations joining an alliance out of understandable fear from their historically and modernly Imperialist Major Power Neighbor Russia. It is pure gaslighting from Putin to say that any Eastern European nation was unjustified in joining NATO or that it was "expansionism". That's pure manipulation to imply that, NATO is not "expansionism", its the result of Eastern European nations trying to protect their security interests and self-determination from Russian Imperialism. Poles especially have a long history of being subjugated by Russians so they understandably don't want that again, hence them joining NATO, an alliance of democracies that respects them and their right to self-determination unlike Russia. They proved that when they invaded sovereign and democratic Ukraine. I am glad the friends and relatives I have in Europe and especially Eastern Europe are now protected by this alliance of democracies and for the first time in a long time in history can safely be free and independent nations, without being apart of some Turkic, German, or Russian empire. For one of the first times in history, especially recent history, Eastern Europe is self-determining, free, and strong, heavily due to the stability and alliances provided by the US and other NATO members. I am especially glad my Finno-Ugric brothers are no longer subject to Russification campaigns, and most are safely within NATO or closely allied to NATO, protecting them from future Russification campaigns which really are just ethnic cleansing, or at least cultural genocide. They did it all the time in the Soviet Empire, they pretended that was some multi-ethnic empire, but they were constantly Russifying people, sending people to gulags, and replacing them with Russians (ethnic cleansing), they whined about how Anglo-Centric the US was but they were extremely Muscovite-centric, discriminating against all others far more than the West, which would self-reflect and go through a Civil Rights movement. Russia still is, treating Ukraine like someone to be dominated.
I just don't understand the NATO hate, it's an alliance of democracies against Authoritarian conquest. Democracies apart are weak, together we are unstoppable. That's the idea. Democracies can get divide et imperad by Authoritarians. This is why NATO benefits Europeans and Americans. Without NATO, we'd all get picked off one by one by China/Russia. What a brave woman Marina is, people like her give me some hope for humanity in this awful time. The fact she has first hand experience growing up in Cechyna makes this even more powerful. It makes me so glad I live where I do but sad that people have to endure this and stand up for things I take for granted.
Her having experienced it herself at a very young age during the war in Chechnya makes what she did really profound. It's a full circle which led up to what's happening today. It shows how deep an impression it made on her and what she learned from it.

Per the title of this interview it was live a broadcast, which is why I think she chose to do it. Her protest had more exposure than any protest of this war so far. She really had a huge reach. It looks like there are a number of bolshoi ballet dancers including the prima ballerina, that’s also high profile.
