The Post Office's former company secretary Susan Crichton began her evidence to the Horizon IT inquiry by apologising to subpostmasters and their families for their “suffering”.

Every apology I've seen during this inquiry is dripping with insincerity! It also continues to amaze me how little these people seem to remember.
Executives must be fined huge amount of £’s so that all the affected sub postmasters can be compensated. ‘Sorry’ is not enough they should say ‘I will pay back three times the amount you lost’.
These people who allowed the Post Masters and Mistresses to go through hell and think that their apologies mean any thing, are just kidding themselves. Just more lies.

It's very clear to the public that senior executives are using selective memory or telling lies at the inquiry. I would suggest that as Vennells has already demonstrated this to the select committee. For this reason a number of questions should be asked in the inquiry to establish if her evidence is reliable. If is found that she continues to be unreliable then inquiry proceeding should cease with immediate arrest for crimes against postmasters and their families
Why wasn't she questioned by Jason Beers? She got away lightly today. Don't recall,can't remember,such a long time ago....whitewash.

Wow, is everyone at the head of UK organizations this incompetent? Hard to believe this is the anomoly.
If you haven't worked your way up from the bottom - or are otherwise familiar with the functions of 'day to day grunt work' - you are incredibly likely to be like these.
They make all of the decisions and don't care who it harms.
The second you can prove they have tangibly done irreparable harm, they don't remember anything.
It isn't incompetence (though they aren't as smart as they think they are), do not mistake them for stupid.
This is calculated and coordinated - it is the nature of a cover-up/conspiracy.

Bring before the courts all of those who knew about the Horizon problems and continued to support the prosecution of the sub postmasters then jail them !!

The question is really very simple, did the post office ever other to investigate the horizon computer system that was being used by staff there to alter sub postmasters data
She needs to be interrogated properly with a lot of pith and not just subjected to mildly agreeing on the contents of documents and giving a useless further bit of explanation.

The way they handled the cases is horrendous and they should be held accountable. However that doesn’t make the post masters innocent … remember the night court did not say they were innocent they said the prosecution was improperly handled

We can only hope senior executives at the Post Office and Fujitsu will be sentenced to jail. The court of public opinion has already started and is snowballing. Media channels covering this travesty have already influenced public support. It's a matter of time before legal proceedings will begin against Paula Vannells and her ilk.
We need to see Post Office executives and their lying lawyers (seen here) and investigators doing jail time for this and heavy compensation for their victims and the families of lost victims. However, its usual that they will face no legal penalty for their actions and only the victims of this injustice will suffer.

How can so many immoral, awful people work in one organisation holding such high positions? Its almost like a personality test was used in the recruitment process to ensure they have little to no integrity, are cold, uncaring with very short memories.

I think she's a decent woman - she got Second Sight on board and that was a pivotal moment. She was then hounded out of PO because the PO Board were blindsided by the damaging content of the SS report and thought she should have "managed" SS better ie tell SS to protect the Post Office
