If your not hitting a crossmember in the door, this will never not deform the door .
Trust me you can see the panel bowing if you over due it.
Why did you install it with the mounts vertical instead or horizontal? I would think that the up-down weight would be more spread out that way.
Good point, we played around with space and didn’t think it could fit vertically. If you are successful please let me know me.
I have a 2015 lwb and I’m planning to add two. Each to a rear door. Yours looks fabulous.

What are the dimensions of the mount?
I don’t recall, it’s really based on the size of your tire. The technical specs are in video description, the links are below. Good luck and it was a good mount.
I am in the market for a Spare Tire Carrier and was interested to see how your attaches. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the overall installation procedure. The Carriers that mount on the Door Hinges maybe more expensive but they are Mercedes Grade Quality and will last the life of the vehicle. Yours on the other hand is much less expensive but I am afraid will cause major issues down the road! Sorry for the bad review.
No worries, thanks for the feedback. There was no instructions with the carrier. Fyi 24 states later and even some extreme......lish 2 wheel drive off road adventures. Everything is still good.

Good just use the a bracing plate that I showed in the video and don’t relay just on the door skin for support.

Please make a video and try to get everything right as you are filming. Trust me I know the difference between a wheel or rim vs a tire or tyre but you are just being rude typing like a fool behind your computer. That van was complete in 28 days of work. Trying pick at my imperfections is really low. We all have shadows but you are looking at the darkness in a given situation. I wish you all the best and hope you find some light. Take care.
