The lighting is fantastic as well. Since there are so few lights the bounce lighting and global illumination solution is really good. I'd love to see a tech breakdown of the game
Hey. Thanks a lot for the kind words ❤️ I’m one of the devs, the animator to be specific. And I have actually been a subscriber to your channel for years now. Great content, and great surprise to see my game here 🙂 Keep up the good work 👍
REE ANIMATION & GAMING Hey man I just watched this review and I just want to say I haven’t bought this game yet since I haven’t really heard of it. For some reason, when I read your comment it really got to me. It’s just nice to see devs of a game actually care about their product and take in criticism/feedback (whether good or bad). As an avid Destiny 2 player, it really hit me in the feels. Your comment really shows that you guys care about your product and that you care about the consumers that purchase it. I’m going to buy this game right now and play it when I am off of work for the weekend.
Getting a skill up review is something I wish all games could get. Honest, deep, constructive criticism. Good to see that a Dev stoked on getting reviewed and hope this boosts sales!
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER! Thanks for making such a great game. The dwarves have so much personality. I love the little animation details, like how the dwarves play with their guns when you try to reload with a full clip. And how you can chuck beer mugs at your friends. You did a great job, thanks again for making this game!
Yea, it is 2021. Date is time measured from the beginning of the calendar (Anno Domini or AD). It is measured time. So there is no year 0000, the date 0000 itself is the beginning moment, has no length while the whole year after till 0001 is the first year. As such YES, we are inside 2021, 2020 is already over. It's just human nature to shorten stuff and it's much easier to say year 2020 than year marked with 2020. But the two are really far from being the same. Like the 1800s and the 18th century. Two quite different things.
@@Kokuyous3ki The 2021st year is the year 2020. We are in the year 2020, not the year 2021. Trying to sound smart on the internet just makes you look like an idiot.
Honestly, you got it wrong with the enemy types. You say 2-3 enemy types. From the footage it looks like you probably played on the second easiest difficulty out of 5, which is easy enough that the enemy variance is limited. In the higher difficulties in addition to the basic grunts, swarmers (the tiny ones), the praetorians (the big ones) and others seen in the video, you also face these: - 2 extra variants of grunts (one does more damage, one is armored) - Wardens, which shield other units until killed - Biome specific Praetorians that do elemental damage - 2 types of ranged grunts, one spits acid that does damage, the other spits web which slows you and obscures vision - Exploders which charge you and suicide bomb you - The exploders big daddy, the Bulk Detonator, which has massive explosive attacks the size of most objective areas - Menaces, which do hit and run attacks with ranged attacks from afar - Sandworm-like Trawlers in sand biome maps - Flying enemies, which include: - Spawns, that just spit goo at you slowly - 2 variants of Bombers that throw blobs that stick to the ground and slow you down - Shockers, tiny amoeba type enemies which flock to you and start shocking you, along with larger breeders that spawn them - Q'Ronar, 2 variants of Droideka types of rolling enemies - Konar, currently a very hard almost boss-level enemy that constantly heals itself and spawns enemies around itself Around half of these appear in all missions, the rest are biome specific or just rarer. There's no way you can say that "you really fight the same 2 to 3 enemy types 80% of the time". In the higher difficulties the basic grunts and the like become cannon fodder you just deal with, but the real fight comes with tackling the special enemies before they become an issue. Like killing grabbers before they grab anyone, which isn't that hard since they have a distinct audio cue when they're coming in to attack. Also your issues with the weapons didn't mention the later game overclocks that you can attach to them, which make them work very differently and have some really satisfying effects to them. You didn't really mention the ability to use alternate weapons either, I wonder if you missed that content entirely?
In one mission one haz 3 you can expect to see a swarmer, grunt, guard, slasher, praetorian, webspitter, acidspitter, warden, menace and sometimes an oppressor. There’s also mactera spawn, grabbers, and bombers. Occasional brood nexus and spitball infectors. And of course last and certainly most hated fucking cave leeches. Yes there are others but most of the ones I left out are either rare or are biome dependent
Exactly, on top of that, the audio cues are also not nearly as bad as he said. Often when a Bulk Detonator spawns you'll hear the thing 2-3 minutes before it actually shows its ugly face, and that gets tense as hell!
Exactly, although combat isn’t THE BEST, it’s pretty fabulous, the audio is honestly pretty damn good, and overclocks change EVERYTHING. It’s not a question on wether or not you want to buy the game, but when. I can’t recommend it enough. Plus, it has the best devs that listen to their community AND still provide new content!
I still remember my first hazard four. It was in the sandblasted corridors, and the cave was just one big, deep hole. The drop pod during evac landed at the very top of it, and me as a driller, and my gunner friend, had to scale the top of it. We were both at the final jump to the evac pod, and I miss my jump. I fell to my death, while watching in horror as my friend is grabbed by a mactera, and dropped down the entire length of the cave. We didn’t escape.
I had the inverse of this in the magma core. We were at the top of the cavern and the drop pod fell to the bottom. Earlier the gunner had put down a Zipline roughly below where we were, so we went yolo and jumped and caught the Zipline on the way down. All of us except the engineer made it, but we didn't have time to go back for him.
god this exact thing happened to me, we were just finishing an on-site refining mission and everyone but me had gotten to the (way too high up and isolated) drop pod, but with 5 seconds left on the clock I got to the jump to hit the bottom of the ramp and... just barely missed it, falling to my death as the drop pod rose up and away from me as I cried out
I remember mine too. I was also a driller, I got lost during the Evac so I had to drill my way up to the evac spot meanwhile there were giant bugs following me so I threw a c4 and exploded them. It took me a long time until I finish the tunnel. However I miscalculated it and fall to my death just a couple of meters from the evac point. One Scout guy just ran at me, rezzed and we made it to the dropship while it was 5 seconds left. Then he shouted Leave no dwarf behind! It was a great moment.
Couple end game notes: - There are weapon mods that 100% change how weapons work (like turning the grenade launcher into a mini-nuke launcher) - The combat ramps up to 3000% when you're on the hardest difficulty and is WAY more fun then the lower difficulties - The endgame loop is really about collecting cosmetics As someone who's nearing 1000 hours in the game, this is a pretty solid review! Rock and Stone!
ive been wondering about this for a while but why do you alternate your pronounciation on certain words like base, sometimes you pronounce it like base and sometimes you say bees
1. Start a Point Extraction on Hazard 5. 2. Take too long to find all the aquarq. 3. Try to keep up as the swarm start spawning faster than you can kill. 4. Panic. 5. Enjoy the boost of adrenaline. 6. Profit.
@@RetechDragonflame Avoiding mistakes is part of the appeal, and IMO the DRG's difficulties are well balanced. Yeah, a greenbeard with no promotions and live-experience on the game will certainly get squished in no time if thrown into Haz4 or above, but that's kinda the thing as well: you practice, level up, and improve yourself for the upcoming challenges.
The best thing about this game HAS to be the devs. When the first introduced the (free, unlockable) skins for weapons, some people were able to glitch skins of one model onto another model. The community liked some of these combinations so much that the devs MADE it a feature. The devs in general are very nice and lovely people. Really glad I bought the game, and I bought the DLC just so I could support them. ROCK AND STONE!
Kinda sounds like Digital Extremes in a way, with how some bugs became features (Coptering became the Parkour system, Zenistar's huge sword bug was acknowledged and is still in the game today)
@@Squashed8Ball Agree, tho I must agree that sometimes bugs can "sneak" up on you out of nowhere. But maybe I've just become a little picky with sound quality after been playing a lot of Hunt: Showdown.
BigDickMcree Everyone gets caught out from time to time, but that’s what shields are for! However, if you’ve cleared a wave completely there is really no excuse aa you can hear any and every spawn. Most people just get complacent and ignore the warning noises to keep mining as the time between the audio cues and the actual arrival of the bugs can be quite long. If I get hit mining its because Im being greedy to get that extra couple of pick swings in, not because I haven’t heard them burrow out of the walls.
@@TheT0nedude honestly i see it as the combat is supposed to be simple and straight forward as to why the guns are fairly simple but effective and there are not crazy extreme combos or strategies. in terms of sound design tho i feel like its fine. u get audio queues of important threats and it also makes it to where situational awareness is key. especially from enemies like grabbers, leeches, and exploders.
SkillUp: "The combat isn't very engaging and I can't hear the enemies most of the time." Also SkillUp: "I play on some of the lowest difficulties and watch Rick and Morty on my second monitor."
Yeah exactly. Throughout the entire combat critique I was wondering what hazard he plays at. Me and my bud always play on haz 4 and have an incredible time setting up ziplines and defenses in preparation for completing objectives. the combat isn't groundbreaking or anything, but throwing down a dome shield and mowing through massive hordes of enemies before zipping away when the dome falls NEVER gets old. Or taking out a chunk of enemies with the grenade launcher on engineer. Or grappling around and outmaneuvering a Dreadnaught as scout. It never feels bad imo.
Also saying you only fight 3 or so variants consistently is pretty wrong. Excluding all the more "Elite/Rare" ones. You have (Forgot names, fight me) grunts, armored grunts, slashy grunts, Praets, Acid Spitters, Web Spitters, Mactera, Goo Bombers, and Swarmlings. Those are all very common to fight. And there are PLENTY of rarer ones. On top of that, the one thing he didn't touch on in regards to variety. Is the environment changes how you fight. Sure you could face a swarm of grunts a few times, but how you fight them is going to drastically change depending on where you're standing at the moment. On a tiny platform, cliff, surrounded by lava, in a crevice, sand storm, snow storm, etc.
@@Fractured676 thankyou for this I was thinking of not buying it because he said so little enemy variety, but reading this makes me wanna try it myself since it's on sale.
@@XXMASTERRIKUXX Yeah the combat is actually really good IMO, there's not a ton of weapons in the game, but you can pick various combinations of upgrades that completely change how the weapons feel. For example, there's a modifier for the engineer's grenade launcher that turns the grenades into mini-nukes, in exchange you get a dramatically reduced max ammo pool. There's not hundreds of different enemy types or anything crazy, but depending on the biome you're in, it changes how some of the enemies work and not to mention the mission modifiers that make things more challenging.
Soooo...open ended gameplay, lots of variety in environments (though not so much in enemy types yet,) plenty of unlockables, a functional multiplayer element, a complete game AND no overbearing monetization? You mean, like, it's a flawed but fun game made by decent people for gamers? Sounds like it's almost worth buying just on principle alone.
Been playing it on and off for years through development. What always brings me back is the teamwork, the fun and the new content. This is a dev team to support.
He makes the combat seem worse than it is, and there actually is a pretty decent enemy variety (it did used to be like 4-5 enemy types but they've since added a bunch more). Plus they plan to add more in the future.
For ROCK and STONE ! As a veteran Miner I'm glad to see so many new Dwarfs hired by the company. Hoxxes is a dangerous Planet, and we lost quite a lot of Beards. So welcome, as long as you are not a pointy eared Leaf Lover
It's a really nice video but I want to point out some things : - The game was in early acces for only 2 years. I wanted to precise that because "for years" doesn't feel like it's making any justice about it when so many games are stuck in EA for way more than 4 or 5 years. - There's only one type of flying enemy that can pick you up and there's a counter to that : if you shoot them, they release you. Ofc, when you show it in the video, both of your mates are downed and unable to help you but there's definitely an other way to counter them than just this "one perk". - 30% combat, as many people said that before me, is mostly untrue. It really depends on the difficulty you're playing on. - Trust me, there are caves that are very similar. You might not have seen yet but it's a thing. Though, to be fair, the developpers are working hard to make each cave feels more unique. ^^ - There are around 20 different enemies, and I'm not including those who are too similar to each other in that list. And the devs are going to add even more. "you're really fighting the 2-3 same enemies" feels really inaccurate. - Regarding the "audio cues", again I think you're expecting the game to hold your hand (in fact, a few enemies warn you that they are about to attack very consistently). You are on a very dangerous planet, you ARE supposed to be careful, you ARE supposed to watch each other's back within your team (and it's even funnier when you complain about it when you are the gunner : the one who's dedicated to the protection of his team). - Actually the sound design is REALLY good in this game and the quality is high up there. Now, having said that, I must add : it's totally okay to not be fond of the combat system and to prefer the whole exploration/mining part but it really sounds like you needed the game to have flaws (and it has flaws obviously but not the one you picked, funnily enough), problem is that you turned your preferences into flaws when... well... they aren't. xD Anyway, Rock and Stone brother !
Jack Stepan 100% agree! As for his main two gripes. I disagree completely. I love the combat and the sound cues are there for all the enemy types. You learn to pick them and not get snuck up on. Dying on platforms while mining a few too many times teaches you when to put the pickaxe away and when to get your guns out!
I agree, also notice how he doesn't mention overclocks that turn your "peashooter" weapons into massive flesh shredding killing machines. But i do not agree when he says "some players need that rewarding structural system" basically... ive know plenty of people who play the game and theyre end game strive is to build the best weapon, have the best stats, ect. My goal is to just rank up as much as possible while getting all the cosmetics. And the combat can be very rewarding, especially helping out new players and showing them the best way to play and explain a lot of details about the game to them.
This is literally the best coop game I’ve ever played. Fallout 76, Anthem, none of it compares to this lovely burger. It has lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, mayonnaise, and bacon,
240 hours in by now, maxed all classes, got all perks, nearly all weapon overclocks (read: sidegrade mods) and I can STILL attest I play this game solely for the fun gameplay loop and "fashionframe" endgame. This is one of the best COOP games you can grab, with early access truly done right from the start. A killer synth soundtrack and "alien" atmosphere are shifting seamlessly into laid-back humor and action. The devs have been constantly upgrading the game for free with consistently great updates. All classes have kept their identity and are fun to play. The devs also play the game themselves and stay on top of fan feedback on reddit. The biggest feat of DRG is that it didn't ever dive to deep (heh!) into any microtransactions, ever. Yes, there are some skin and soundtrack packs, but you always get what you pay for here - no RNG, booster or ingame-currency bullshit ever. I bought the supporter upgrade back in EA and didn't regret a dime spent ever since. Aside from minor lags when you are not the host the netcode is top notch. People can late-join or re-join a game no problem. The lobby works, you can help friends with no leveling restrictions and - if you don't have friends to play with -joining a random game is also no problem whatsoever. Seriously - give this game a roll, you won't ever regret it. It shows what a good coop game can look like without the AAA-corporate bullshit. ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!
Wait how did you get your dwarves to Legendary (max) in just 240 hrs.? I'm 230 hrs in and I promoted my dwarves and all of them are 3 star copper rank.
Great review and it makes me so happy to see how much you're enjoying DRG. Even if I (together with the other designers) spent years trying to make the combat as good as possible! :D Have you tried other weapons and classes? Our goal is to support a wide variety of combat playstyles, maybe there is something somewhere for you? In any case, it's just awesome that the game connected with you that way. Keep on exploring those caves.
The biggest part for me is the combat. All the things he complained about are reinforced by the character classes. For instance the big enemies such as praetorian or oppressors can easily be taken out immediately with the scout by grappling behind them and power attacking with the pickaxe, and the little swarmers get absolutely destroyed by the drillers flame thrower or cryo canon. All in all you guys did great with this game
New people coming to this review should know, the developers are still working hard on this game. It has only gotten better... So much better. There's more biomes, more mission types, a new primary weapon for each class (and new secondaries coming soon in 2022), overclocks that heavily modify how weapons work, more enemy types, and so much more! It's a cheap game to buy, but I will never in a million years doubt that I got my money's worth out of it already and I'm still getting more out of it to this day.
Great comment! I just downloaded this game on my PS5 as its one of the free games of the month, so looking forward to trying it out. After watching Ralph’s review, it seems excellent, and this was from 2020. Its almost 2 years later now so I can only imagine how much more the game has to offer. Really looking forward to trying it out!
Updating two years later, I'm honestly shocked by how many changes I can see between this review and the current state of the game. I came very late to the party so it's all new for me, but the some of the clips in this video look like an alpha test in comparison to today.
Bosco doesn't just 'work surprisingly well', he is the most overpowered AI team mate/companion I've ever seen in any game up to this day. He is basically all the four classes combined into one tiny machine. He is able to shed light, shoot enemies, mine terrain and minerals, support to carry items, shoot explosive missiles. He is overpowered but also extremely well balanced at the same time. GSG really did a great job on fine tuning Bosco, people will rarely see something that is both overpowered and well balanced in other games, it's either one or the other. This isn't just one of the best co-op games ever made, it is THE BEST CO-OP GAME you can find. L4D, B4B, Gunfire Reborn, none of these can even hold a candle to DRG, not even close. Imagine dropping into a mission with three other dwarves, never met them, never spoken to them, and all four of you are completely in sync with no comms or voice chat, that experience is common in DRG, that's when you know that the devs are doing it right. No microtransactions, no pay to win elements, free season pass and everything can be unlocked just by playing the game, and the game is only under 4GB. The only things that can be purchased with real money are the exclusive DLC skins which are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay in any way. I normally don't buy DLCs from games unless they are worth it but GSG is an exception because they deserve my money. Simply spectacular, this is the one game that I will never ever uninstall from my PC. ROCK AND STONE!
As someone who was also annoyed by the small shitty enemies: Pick the "Thorns" perk. They'll still attack you, but die by doing so. Immediate reduction to frustration.
@@thevenator3955 heightened senses would be nice but its not something ud see a whole lot of use. its not super often. i personally have been running resupplier, born ready, and thorns on pretty much everyone. exception with driller instead of thorns i have vampire. i guess technically i could substitute resupplier for senses. idk.
Sinsanatis I use heightened senses mostly because I’m a scout, and I often run off ahead alone to, ya know, scout. So if I get grabbed by a cave leech, I need to be able to escape without help.
I have downloaded Hades and it stares into my eyes every time I boot up my PC... we make eye contact and I pretend like I don’t know who he is and keep walking.
I bought the game based on this recommendation. I've always been single-player focused, so I wasn't expecting much to change, even though I started playing by just starting my own open sessions. And as far as PvE co-op games like this go, I can say... I *get it* now. I had an egg extraction where everything was in one central cavern. It was the easiest extraction ever, I could've gotten flattened by the landing pod, it came down so close. Until the engineer got grabbed by a flying bug and dropped back down in the middle of the room. Staying behind to place a zipline to get him out and keeping the bugs off him with my chaingun until we could all extract together was one of the most enjoyable emergent experiences I've had with a game. I personally cannot second this entire review enough.
In my 30 years of gaming this is some of the most fun I've had with my friends. After one harrowing mission after I boarded the pod I witnessed a friend running up the ramp get snatched by a sand worm moments before safety and I belly laughed about it for 5 minutes. It was painful and beautiful.
"...Deep Rock is the perfect game to play while you're watching Rick and Morty episodes on your second monitor..." Not on hazard 5 though. Those mactera swarms won't kill themselves. As for the combat, I have weirdly more fun with the least lethal dwarf. The scout has less firepower than his brothers but with the right perks to increase speed, combined with the grapplin hook, it feels like Spider-Man playing the Doom Slayer in the middle of hell. With equally skilled players, the Scout will always be the last dwarf standing thanks to his mobility. And dealing with a massive horde only to see your friends fall one after the other, fills you with excitement when you manage to escape, take your breath and dive back into the action to finally pick them up one by one and repel those buggers. 900 hours and I still come back every week.
I totally agree. Rn I just got to triple gold with all four and being the last man standing in a team of four during stage three of the EDD is genuinely heart pounding, terrifying, and exhilarating all at the same time ( most of the time this is scout)
True, my gunner butt has been saved by plenty of scouts when my own brute force "just shield over them to res" approach was no longer sufficient to push back the hordes
The Field Medic perk on scout is awesome. That one instant revive per mission is often a lifesaver. On one mission lately the whole rest of the team was killed almost in the same place, I slinged in, instarevived the gunner who immediately popped the shield up and we were able to revive the two others while it was up.
I was last to fall drop pod was there everyone was down I found my gunner swarmed I checked my rifle no ammo so I called a supply pod on him which squashed the bugs and me and him rushed to the drop pod with 5 seconds to spare
I just got this game, largely due to this review, and it is SO GOOD!!! The community is probably the best part. What other game allows you to order beers with a party of randoms, dance around a jukebox, and raise your pickaxe in salute of your fellow miners before dropping into a hostile planet to fight bugs and gather ebonuts???
A story: Bought it on the winter steam sale. I drop into my first match clueless as all fuck. There are a few veteran players there and they immediately salute me as I jump out of my pod right in the middle of a battle. I start shooting randomly because its dark as fuck. The scout throws out a flare and I just see we're in this huge cavern with hundreds of tiny fucks running right towards us along the ceiling. The flamethrower is going off to my back and I throw down my shield bubble as they start overwhelming us. We fight through it and salute each other as we start mining. On the way back to the droppod the driller and I are separated from the pack and get lost in the tunnel system - we dug the wrong way. Im protecting the driller from huge ass bugs as we try desperately to get to the drop pod. 1 minute... 30 seconds... 10 seconds... we might make it... nope, we drill through to a bigger cavern and see huge bugs looking down at us. Overwhelmed and die only 30m from the drop pod. We saluted each other as my shield bubble went down. I am ADDICTED
This story remindes me of Aliens2 when vasquez and the other marine chose to blow them self up with a grenade because they run out of ammo and where demaged
I had been hearing all the rave reviews for this game and bought it the other day. Played the first mission and immediately bought copies for my buddies. We have had an absolute blast and I am definitely hooked.
I would like to comment on the enemy section, there are load of enemies. Now in hazard 1-2 yes, there are mostly grunts (the basic guys) and pretorians (the big green dudes), but from hazard 3-5 there are much more all the time. Grunts make up the hordes as they are weak, slashers deal more damage, and guards take less damage, there are a variety ro flying enemies that dont grab you and the ones that do can be forced to drop you by your allies shooting them. There are way more enemies then I think you have seen. Also just a tip, of enemies appear next to you, you have a powerful AOE melee attack for a reason, use it TLDR: There are a bunch of enemy types, play on higher hazards (3-5) and they branch out a lot more
Bioware/EA-"We are making "Anthem" an incredible AAA Live Service game we will support for ten years or more." Ghost Ship Games-"Rock and Stone Bitches!!!!"
"The little buggers are just a little too small" Driller's flamer is really effective at moping them up with sticky flames. "There are flying enemies that can pick up and grab you and there is nothing you can do about it" The Mactera Grabber (the enemy shown) is heavily telegraphed through audio ques when its coming to grab someone, and will instantly back off when a small threshold of damage has been met. Sure its frustrating to get grabbed, but you have a lot of opportunity to avoid being grabbed in the first place. "80% of the time you're fighting the same 1 or 2 enemy types" While there isn't as much enemy variety as I'd like, its likely the fact you were playing on hazard 2. Certain biomes have near constant special enemies at haz 3 and especially haz 4 and 5. "The audio design is really lackluster and enemies have a habit of sneaking up on you" You're not wrong when referring to most of the grunts, however. When waves of enemies do spawn, there is a burrowing noise for when they appear that signals where they are coming from. As for getting snuck up on by 1 or 2 enemies in the darkness, I think its pretty subjective. I won't lie, it can be annoying. But it can also be terrifying in the same way a horror movie can. It all depends on how much danger you're in. A note on the combat, you say you don't play for the combat and that's totally fair, but some of your critiques about it I feel miss the mark about it. Is it anything groundbreaking? No, but is it satisfying with its own unique flavour of mechanics and customization. Its definitely a major part of the draw especially on the highest difficulty where even with a team of experience miners working together you still have moments where victory isn't a certainty. As for progression, its a lie that what you're doing hour 1 and hour 30 is the same. Once you get a dwarf promoted (somewhere between the 30-50 hour mark) you do unlock a large part of the end game content. Elite deep dives can be especially brutal and not at all similar to your hour 1 in game. The higher difficulties such as Hazard 5 which needs to be unlocked is MUCH different than hour 1 playing at hazard 2 or 3. There is a lot of total overclocks and cosmetics unique to what you get doing the weekly core hunts and deep dives meaning that there is cosmetic progression. If you want cosmetics for certain classes there are machine events which appear within levels that require blank cores to give you one of 3 loot options. Let me tweak your phrase a little bit to sum things up "There is a difference between hour 1 and hour 30, but between level 30 and level 300, its mostly solid gameplay, and gradual cosmetic unlocks, as well as experience with higher difficulties. Sorry for this wall of text but I hope you can understand my points.
@@realname2490 If you think combat is boring then your at your own fault. Hazard 5 is some of the most nail biting combat you can experience in this game
Yeah, I can't agree with Skill Up there. Combat is definitely really fun and you become a lot more dependent on each class's abilities in the higher difficulties. That's where it really shines. But yes, the sound design for the enemies could definitely use some improvement. Also the mactera grabber makes a very distinct noise when it is flying to catch someone, and if it takes any sort of damage when it's charging towards you, it will fail and fly away. It's not as much of a "nothing you can do about it" scenario as SU seems to make it out to be.
Yeah I distinctly remember playing Borderlands with friends n thinking the guns seemed kinda weak cuz I was used to the DRG minigun... love the sound and feel of that thing.
This video was the reason I started playing DRG and it’s been one of my favorite games ever. I still come back and watch this review cause something about it makes me feel like I’m playing the game with my m8s. I know it wouldn’t make you the most money to do it but I would absolutely love to see another video covering DRG. The game has evolved even further and with season 2 coming out I think it would be a super cool opportunity! Either way, thank you for the this vid and hope you and yours are doing well!!
This is easily one of the best co op games I've ever played. I would HEAVILY recommend you try ranking up to Haz 4-5 to see how the game feels at a higher level. Nothing better than a completed Elite Deep Dive
All his problems about enemy variety would literally be solved if he went to haz 4 and 5. All his criticism of combat were because of a lack of teamwork and because he’s bad at the game. None of it was valid
I would say that the combat continues to expand as you play. Finding weapon mods and making them work becomes a huge part of the game, and can change how each class behaves. I can reliably outmine the scout with my kitted out driller, for instance.
This doesn't give deep rock galactic enough credit because he is seeing it through a newer player which sadly doesn't understand much from the actual game the combat requires a lot more than they just walk up to you and hit you
You know that no reviewer would be willing to play 200 hours before writing a review right? Also having a perspective from a New player that played casually for a few hours has its own value
That's funny, I literally just came here to see if you've finally done a review for DRG. Also, it's truly amazing how they pack all this content into a game that's not even 2GB in size.
@@Supadrumma441 Well one is a fixed pre-built game, the other is procedurally generated. Minecraft is also small in size but can have maps bigger then Neptune. So comparing it to Destiny in unfair.
I've been playing this game since early access, and I'm so glad that you took the time to make a review! Thank you! This game deserves way more recognition. :) Rock and stone, brother!
My buddy shared this video with me and we both bought the game a week ago. We've dumped nearly 20 hours into it already and cannot get enough - we've had some deep-belly laughs throughout some of the most fun we've had gaming in what feels like years. THANK YOU for making this video, and to the folks who created this masterpiece. ROCK AND STONE!
I hate it when reviewers complain about a game not having variety, but admit to playing on the lower difficulties. Since you play on the lower difficulties there are less enemies, less enemies means less variety because the game is going easier on you. On higher difficulties there are a LOT of enemy varieties. I don’t like it when reviewers say “this part lacks variety “ without actually seeing what the game has to offer. Also there’s perks like Hoverboots that counter being dropped from 100ft or thorns that deal with the little dudes.
Could the audio cues be louder? Maybe. But they are definitely there. If you're listening to something else or voice chatting or watching something on a different monitor, of course you'll be more likely to miss them. And you missed one of the best bits! The soundtrack! It has a synthy Stranger Things feel. And has a great system which builds the music to a crescendo during waves, much like Payday 2.
I really dislike how he used his own choice of music instead of the game's OST to display the more "epic" moments (The massive cave, the combat reveal, etc.) Also lots of the enemies have cues, the flying grabbing ones literally SCREAM at you and your teammates several seconds before they swoop in to abduct you. He also complains about the small enemies being hard to shoot, but seems completely unaware of the fact that you can melee small enemies easily with your pickaxe.
Yeah, I don't think I've had too much of an issue hearing enemies. Definetly not to the point it's an issue. But he also didn't power attack the the swarmers.... So....
Yeah I distinctly remember the Mactera audio cue despite not having played for a while. That being said I do agree audio cues for some enemies could be a bit more noticeable... Also screw cave leeches...
Yea the exploder bugs could probably use a better Sound Cues for when they're walking, as they're purely just a visual cue, if you're stuck somewhere (like in an alien nest) the only audio cue you get is when they're about to explode and if you're stuck, you're screwed.
Imho its less about loudness as much as the enemy audio cues are so unreliable as to be nearly useless. Do mind that i havent played in the last several weeks, so dunno if the audio cues changed in that time. But in my experience so far (159 hours), FAR too often i was explicitly listening for stuff (like batteries or suspected heavy bugs) in the distance, only to get smacked by a half dozen bugs with absolutely zero warning. With headphones. Other times i can clearly hear the bugs walk all over and do their bark, but in my observations they do that when they can't easily path to me, there's an incoming horde event or i think they often bark when im shooting in their direction or looking at them directly. Heck, the little ambient worms have more reliable audio cues than the actual enemies. Coming from vermintide 2 where the audio cues are VERY good, this is jarring. I played DRG muted.. and honestly my experience didnt change much as far as enemy awareness go. But i have good hope for a patch that will eventually fix that.
Combat's definitely improved over the past 2 years since this review came out. There are glyphids, mactera, mini-bosses, rival robots, and now the new Nemesis hunter-killer bot. The game is absolutely fantastic.
Would love to see an updated review for this. Over 2 years later with numerous quality of life improvements, 2 seasons, and currently a third ongoing one, free battle pass, Deep Rock Galactic really is the "live service game, but good". 650 hours later i'm still having fun. "5/7 -IGN"
@@KefKedes it has a little bit. I was able to get 5 other friends to join me in Hunt after the review and it's been great. As for Deep Rock, yeah, I already have over 160 hours on it, as does half my discord server.
Hey Skill Up! Just wanted to say thank you for getting me into Deep Rock Galactic. A year had passed, but it weirdly feels like it was two or three years ago. Deep Rock is a gift that just keeps on giving. I got my mates, my wife and basically everyone I could into DRG, and we're having a blast still.
i think the combat is really fun at higher levels, and the sound design is supposed to tell you when enemies are on their way, not when they're right next to you, forcing the players to incentivize preparation and strategy (also the devs are STILL working on more content, like new aliens, biomes, and mission types)
One of my favorite games to play at the moment. You can either have a relaxing round with your buddies and a few bears or go balls to the wall on the highest difficulty settings and have some pulse pounding action. The simple addition of cheering your mates with V and the different tools that all work together nicely really foster teamplay among random teams and the community is the most pleasant I have experienced in...ever. The devs are bloody brilliant and communicate a lot, even put in community feedback (like personal droppods) and it's just a fucking good game and you should buy it. ROCK AND STOOOONE!
the V button is the greatest thing ever, as soon as someone joins a game and they do it, everyone does it back! it's like a cheer and a welcome and a thank you and a FUCK YEAH at the push of a button.
I fell in love with this game 2 years ago, am so happy to see how far they've come. Glad you found it and now more people will join in on the amazing shenanigans.
As an added bonus, this is one of the free games for PlayStation plus subscribers this month. Been playing for a few days now and having an absolute blast. ROCK AND STONE!!!
To those watching after November 4, 2021, the game just got even better with a seasonal battlepass system. Now, if you’re like me, you hate battlepasses for their extra cost and exclusivity of cosmetics that’ll never be available again. But not only is everything in the pass absolutely 100% free, the devs have confirmed that they’ll put ways in the game to get every single one of the cosmetics that were in past seasons. This game is amazing, the community is incredibly nice, and it can run on a potato laptop with integrated graphics. I know because I started playing the game on one when I first got it. BUY THIS GAME.
Great review, but you're seriously missing out on great combat on hazard 4-5. Once you get all the upgrades and maybe a decent overclock you should try out hazard 4. all the chaos and destruction is great fun. As for the sound design I think it's really good, and I haven't had a problem with enemies sneaking up on me, but that might be just a lot of combat experience. Oh and Swarmers (those pesky little bugs) are supposed to be annoying, and the best method to deal with them is to just use a power attack. I think the combat is great, especially when you get your hands on overclocks (end-game upgrades). That's just my opinion, I'm not saying you have to play that way, I'm saying you should give it a go.
Haz 4 is the best difficulty. It merges together everything perfectly. Danger, darkness and dwarves. Haz 5 is just a straight up nightmare doe. Unless there is a positive modifier.
@@peao010109 I love haz5 with a group of friends who don't mind failing, and just want that challenge. But Haz4 is definitely the normal for myself. I feel comfortable there, and its still not a cake walk most of the time. Most of the time, cause the difficulty is HELLA RNG. Plenty of times Haz4 has felt like Haz6. I've even failed in Haz3 when I'm helping some peeps get into the game. Not a complaint, I love the RNG, you never know what kind of match you're getting.
Been following this game for over a year pre-release. They've done an amazing job at improving every aspect of the game, I'd guess almost half of their changes/additions came directly from player recommendations. Edit: and using your main gun and all that ammo for the lil guys is a rookie move. Your melee attack does aoe dmg and kills them easily.
Human teammates: -Never there when you need them -can't fly -only care about mining gold for themselves -won't carry heavy objects directly to you -can die BOSCO: -always there when you need him -CAN fly -will mine resources on cave walls and ceilings for you -will mine and carry heavy objects directly to you -can't die -always salutes you when you rock and stone
2 years since this review and it's still fresh with new content - FREE content - and with a community just as passionate and endearing and manic as it always has been. rock and stone sediment and minerals, you might even say
added note, I personally love the combat and how the different classes' weapons can compliment each other - scout's grenades providing a general crowd control supporting role, or having armour breaking on the PURE DOPAMINE that is the minigun so that your teammates can also unload into it - and so on. One of my favourite little quirks or added details is the driller's neurotoxin grenade also being flammable - making huge explosions is always fun and can also be triggered by other classes if they have certain upgrades - hot bullets for the minigun for example. At higher difficulties barely clinging to life to make it to the drop pod or just about holding your ground long enough to finish an objective can be a BIG rush. The sound design with enemies is a bit of an issue - easily fixed with some footstep sounds for the bugs or maybe more agro sounds - especially with the cave leech, that thing is virtually undetectable. The gun sounds and the splatting of the enemies is so satisfying, hearing the bugs explode when set on fire is morbid but fun to hear in a swarm, there's really no other gripes for me
I love this game a lot! I have to say, once you unlock all weapons and upgrades for the classes so you can experiment with different builds, as well as trying out different weapon overclocks, the combat opens up a lot more.
@@GugureSux They put a limit on how many times Thorns can fire per second. You can still ignore lone swarmers, but large groups like we saw in the video you now have to pay attention to. :)
quick tip for Mactera Grabbers at 10:25 they shriek before they grab you. so you can react and shoot them before they grab you also taking the the perk Heightened Senses will help or the perk Hover Boots to avoid fall damage if dropped
@@mytop3467 yep perfect time, new weapons got introduced, new mission, completely free battle pass too. Get it, last time I checked the game has a massive discount on steam
@@mytop3467 you won't regret it. Also one main rule that you always have to follow no matter what is happening. If someone else presses V than you also press V. You never rock and stone alone
Wow, i cant believe how different the experience is for the people who enjoy this game on lower difficulties. I have played DRG since some of the early days of beta, i always loved the combat and while i agree how sometimes its frustrating (at the first 100 hours i still had troubles to keep myself alive), when you get used to enemies attack patterns, know which perks and weapons can help to survive even the most chaotic situations (Engi: Mad nukes, Gun: Shield, Driller: DIG! Scout: gotta go fast, etc) you start to realize how great the combat it is, thats why i only play Hazard 4 and 5.
This is honestly the best medicine for what has been ailing me. I've been having such a hard time finding action oriented Co Op games without prevalent griefing. Me and my friends used to play Rust but that community has become more and more hostile and kill on sight over time making the experience mostly one of frustration. This game looks so perfect for what I've been missing. Thanks for pointing it out sir.
This just got free on PlayStation plus and I'm having a blast! I'll buy the DLCs just to support the developers. It's one of the very, VERY few games in this era that feels like it is actually made by gamers, for gamers. And the end goal was just...fun!
Now that season 4 has arrived, I kind of want to see what Skill-Up thinks of the game now, in a "part 2" that makes up for all his current reviews being 40+ minutes long. I don't think a 20 minute review, especially without addressing overclocks, Hazards 4 and 5, and mod support, has done it enough justice. The community here is worth going back and trying it out, as I have yet to encounter a toxic player in my 80-ish hours of game time. I'm still a green-beard in that regard, but I think it'd be worth doing a deep dive, both literally and metaphorically. Please, Ralph, can you shill this one up?
Now you made me sad. Because that is so true. Every aspect of the game fits perfectly with his style and values - and in turn, the values I was raised with as a teen gamer. RIP great man. We will never forget his legacy.
I love this review except for how you described the enemy types and the weapons--I know others have made much better worded comments but it feels like you missed a bunch of content because you didn't try out Hazard 3! So much changes when you bump the hazard level and I feel that you would've been able to see even more why we love this game so damn much! Otherwise I love this and I'm glad to see another dwarf join the crew ♥️
It is also quite interesting to see that in the years since this video was made, every problem he brought up has been fixed. There are more bugs, more missions, more guns, and overall, a more epic game
I hate myself for sleeping on this game. I just started playing it a few days ago. Back when it was released I looked at it, and thought to myself "how fun could just going into a random generated map and mining some rocks and shooting bugs be? Wouldn't that get old fast?" Well no, now I see that it is extremely fucking fun. Lol I played it 12 hours straight when I first got it, only got off because I got tired. This game's gameplay just doesn't get boring.
Probably the only skill up review i'm genuinely confused by. The game gives you the tools to deal with the annoyances of bugs crawling on walls in spades. Getting annoyed at bugs bugging you while mining? one power attack and everything in a 5 foot radius is goo. Too many bugs crawling on the walls around you during a swarm? Grapple away, get on a zip line, build a platform, dig a hole. I've never had the experience of hoards or bugs being annoying to fight since the tools are so fun on each class, even up to hazard 5+!
SU: "... the greatest movie in the history of cinema." Me: "Die Hard." SU: "You know the one I'm talking about, of course." Me: "Of course I know, it's Die Hard." SU: "Armageddon" Me: "... ... ... ... It has Bruce Willis in it, fair enough."
I really think the randomly generated terrain would NOT work without the terrain being destructible... but since it is, any generation that would be disruptive or make the level unplayable becomes an extra obstacle for the players to overcome, adding to the fun of the game instead of making players mad. And likewise, enemies beign either airborne or able to crawl on walls means enemies never get disabled by the random generation either.
The mission areas being on a timed rotation makes for an experience where you hardly find two missions the same consecutively. Brilliant game frame work and planning
This game has completely changed my views on what games should be. I legit can see myself playing this forever. The randomly generated maps make it so it’s never boring. The combat at 4/5 hazard keeps the adrenaline going. And the battlepass is how all should be…don’t complete it? Don’t worry all the loot is made available to get in game :) This game is the best co-op game of all time. And has the best community I’ve been a part year of my 30 year gaming career. ROCK AND STONE
Enjoyed the review as always but just to add, the game becomes exponentially better with a friend (or 3). All those little moments of everything coming together happen way more often when you're playing with a friend on voice chat. I play with one mate and we play with 2 randoms and it's a joy almost all the time.

Rock and stone! Thanks for everything you contributed to the game, mate. We love you guys.

Keep up the good work, I dig it.
"... and in 2021, I'm okay with that."
Yeah I wish 2020 could be over too.

Honestly, you got it wrong with the enemy types. You say 2-3 enemy types. From the footage it looks like you probably played on the second easiest difficulty out of 5, which is easy enough that the enemy variance is limited. In the higher difficulties in addition to the basic grunts, swarmers (the tiny ones), the praetorians (the big ones) and others seen in the video, you also face these:
- 2 extra variants of grunts (one does more damage, one is armored)
- Wardens, which shield other units until killed
- Biome specific Praetorians that do elemental damage
- 2 types of ranged grunts, one spits acid that does damage, the other spits web which slows you and obscures vision
- Exploders which charge you and suicide bomb you
- The exploders big daddy, the Bulk Detonator, which has massive explosive attacks the size of most objective areas
- Menaces, which do hit and run attacks with ranged attacks from afar
- Sandworm-like Trawlers in sand biome maps
- Flying enemies, which include:
- Spawns, that just spit goo at you slowly
- 2 variants of Bombers that throw blobs that stick to the ground and slow you down
- Shockers, tiny amoeba type enemies which flock to you and start shocking you, along with larger breeders that spawn them
- Q'Ronar, 2 variants of Droideka types of rolling enemies
- Konar, currently a very hard almost boss-level enemy that constantly heals itself and spawns enemies around itself
Around half of these appear in all missions, the rest are biome specific or just rarer.
Very detailed comment. Makes a good addition to the review for those weighing up buying the game cause of the combat.
The controls feel like quake
I had that but onsite refinery as solo gunner
That is still so awesome though, the kind of moments in gaming you never forget.
god this exact thing happened to me, we were just finishing an on-site refining mission and everyone but me had gotten to the (way too high up and isolated) drop pod, but with 5 seconds left on the clock I got to the jump to hit the bottom of the ramp and... just barely missed it, falling to my death as the drop pod rose up and away from me as I cried out
I remember mine too.
Couple end game notes:
- There are weapon mods that 100% change how weapons work (like turning the grenade launcher into a mini-nuke launcher)
- The combat ramps up to 3000% when you're on the hardest difficulty and is WAY more fun then the lower difficulties
- The endgame loop is really about collecting cosmetics
As someone who's nearing 1000 hours in the game, this is a pretty solid review!

For each their own. I personally dislike difficulties where enemies trample you 6 feet under the ground the moment you make one mistake.

BigDickMcree The combat is great and the sounds do let you know the bugs are coming and what type they are as well. Reviewer needs to listen better.
Obviously this guy didn't play past the first difficulty
@@TheT0nedude honestly i see it as the combat is supposed to be simple and straight forward as to why the guns are fairly simple but effective and there are not crazy extreme combos or strategies.
in terms of sound design tho i feel like its fine. u get audio queues of important threats and it also makes it to where situational awareness is key. especially from enemies like grabbers, leeches, and exploders.
SkillUp: "The combat isn't very engaging and I can't hear the enemies most of the time."
Also SkillUp: "I play on some of the lowest difficulties and watch Rick and Morty on my second monitor."
^This. The combat is quite enjoyable on the higher difficulties.

There are way more enemy types on higher difficulty levels, but they are still adding even more with every new patch!

It's a really nice video but I want to point out some things :
- The game was in early acces for only 2 years.
- There are around 20 different enemies, and I'm not including those who are too similar to each other in that list.
Now, having said that, I must add : it's totally okay to not be fond of the combat system and to prefer the whole exploration/mining part but it really sounds like you needed the game to have flaws (and it has flaws obviously but not the one you picked, funnily enough), problem is that you turned your preferences into flaws when... well... they aren't. xD
Anyway, Rock and Stone brother !
"you turned your preferences into flaws when... well... they aren't"
This. ^^
I agree, I had a shit ton of fun with the combat and builds
Rock and stone Brother, you said it eexactly the way I would have.....or Karl would have! If you don't rock and stone.....

@@finetunedaudio no, you are awesome!
Love your work man. Rock and stone!
Love the combat!
Thanks I’m about to buy it
Updating two years later, I'm honestly shocked by how many changes I can see between this review and the current state of the game.
Yeah BOSCO is the best companion when you're alone. Pulls his weight surprisingly well.
on point extract bosco is better than most scout HAHA
As someone who was also annoyed by the small shitty enemies:
Pick the "Thorns" perk.
They'll still attack you, but die by doing so.
Immediate reduction to frustration.
LtnCorrsk thorns and heightened senses are my top perks, they take out the most frustrating enemies
Or Berserk + AoE perk for Pickaxe, no more Swarmer worries and deals nicely even with a wave of grunts.

I'm currently addicted and came here for confirmation bias
Rock and Stone, Skill Up. To the fucking bone!
*Furiously slams down "V" key*
In my 30 years of gaming this is some of the most fun I've had with my friends. After one harrowing mission after I boarded the pod I witnessed a friend running up the ramp get snatched by a sand worm moments before safety and I belly laughed about it for 5 minutes. It was painful and beautiful.
Ahh those are the best moments
"...Deep Rock is the perfect game to play while you're watching Rick and Morty episodes on your second monitor..."
Not on hazard 5 though.
@Lee McDonald just don't get hit
A story:
Bought it on the winter steam sale.

How this didn't make your games of the year is beyond me. You loved this game and this game carried me through the year with my friends.
Also just a tip, of enemies appear next to you, you have a powerful AOE melee attack for a reason, use it
TLDR: There are a bunch of enemy types, play on higher hazards (3-5) and they branch out a lot more

"The little buggers are just a little too small"
Driller's flamer is really effective at moping them up with sticky flames.
"There are flying enemies that can pick up and grab you and there is nothing you can do about it"
The Mactera Grabber (the enemy shown) is heavily telegraphed through audio ques when its coming to grab someone, and will instantly back off when a small threshold of damage has been met.
Sure its frustrating to get grabbed, but you have a lot of opportunity to avoid being grabbed in the first place.
"80% of the time you're fighting the same 1 or 2 enemy types"
While there isn't as much enemy variety as I'd like, its likely the fact you were playing on hazard 2. Certain biomes have near constant special enemies at haz 3 and especially haz 4 and 5.
"The audio design is really lackluster and enemies have a habit of sneaking up on you"
You're not wrong when referring to most of the grunts, however.

Agree with you on everything here but the combat. I love the combat in DRG. The sound could definitely be better.
I love the combat too.
Side note to others. Swarmers are supposed to be hard to hit. Drillers flamethrower compensates
It's not as much of a "nothing you can do about it" scenario as SU seems to make it out to be.

crazy, literally bought it this morning and had a blast. The community alone was awesome

Thank you SO MUCH for covering this!!
ROCK & STONE!
But i have good hope for a patch that will eventually fix that.

i think the combat is really fun at higher levels, and the sound design is supposed to tell you when enemies are on their way, not when they're right next to you, forcing the players to incentivize preparation and strategy (also the devs are STILL working on more content, like new aliens, biomes, and mission types)

ROCK
AND
STOOOONE!
the V button is the greatest thing ever, as soon as someone joins a game and they do it, everyone does it back! it's like a cheer and a welcome and a thank you and a FUCK YEAH at the push of a button.
ROCK AND STONE, BROTHA!
I fell in love with this game 2 years ago, am so happy to see how far they've come. Glad you found it and now more people will join in on the amazing shenanigans.
"This is how long it takes to load into a level in Deep Rock"
*cries in xbox one*
Omg I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. I own both versions on the PC and Xbox and was reminded of the long load times on the Xbone.
@@juanescobarrojas8330 at least the music in the loading screen rocks
@@Fractured676 Lol, I went through haz3 with 3 other greenbeards and we got our first three(!) bulks.
Been playing this since Early Access, Deep Rock is one of those rare games that you can tell the devs are actually passionate about it.
Human teammates:
-Never there when you need them
-can't fly
-only care about mining gold for themselves
-won't carry heavy objects directly to you
-can die
BOSCO:
-always there when you need him
-CAN fly
-will mine resources on cave walls and ceilings for you
-will mine and carry heavy objects directly to you
-can't die
-always salutes you when you rock and stone
2 years since this review and it's still fresh with new content - FREE content - and with a community just as passionate and endearing and manic as it always has been.
rock and stone
sediment and minerals, you might even say
added note, I personally love the combat and how the different classes' weapons can compliment each other - scout's grenades providing a general crowd control supporting role, or having armour breaking on the PURE DOPAMINE that is the minigun so that your teammates can also unload into it - and so on.
10:00 - Don't waste ammo on Swarmers, Ralph. Just pickaxe them.
Better yet: equip the Thorn perk, and forget that they even exist.
@@GugureSux They put a limit on how many times Thorns can fire per second. You can still ignore lone swarmers, but large groups like we saw in the video you now have to pay attention to. :)
This is what Minecraft Dungeons probably should’ve been lmao.
Facts
just mod regular minecraft then
Good lord can you imagine if they nailed the procedural generation and upgrades like DRG does
Minecraft dungeons is lame as hell
quick tip for Mactera Grabbers at 10:25 they shriek before they grab you. so you can react and shoot them before they grab you also taking the the perk Heightened Senses will help or the perk Hover Boots to avoid fall damage if dropped
2021 is almost over and this game has only improved SIGNIFICANTLY since this review. I absolutely love this game
is it worth getting it now?
@@mytop3467 yep perfect time, new weapons got introduced, new mission, completely free battle pass too. Get it, last time I checked the game has a massive discount on steam
@@phammo1 tnx. I got it for 50% off.
@@mytop3467 you won't regret it. Also one main rule that you always have to follow no matter what is happening. If someone else presses V than you also press V. You never rock and stone alone
@@phammo1 wait, does that mean that the salute has a meaning? E.g., when someone does it it means we should start mining?
@Matthew Cunningham I do.
Seems like he 'digs' the game
Get out...lol jk
Because it ROCKs.
This just got free on PlayStation plus and I'm having a blast! I'll buy the DLCs just to support the developers. It's one of the very, VERY few games in this era that feels like it is actually made by gamers, for gamers. And the end goal was just...fun!
Yeah, it's enjoyable to play.
No tryhards nor sweater.
Just pure Coop, you can tell they made this game with love a care.
Agreed!
TB would've loved this game. I could just imagine him playing this with Jesse, Dodger, and Crendor.
🙏😌
Now you made me sad. Because that is so true. Every aspect of the game fits perfectly with his style and values - and in turn, the values I was raised with as a teen gamer. RIP great man. We will never forget his legacy.
It warms my heart to read this.
Yes, yes I believe TB would have. May God rest his soul.
It makes me sad that TotalBiscuit didn't get to make a "WTF is" on this game
Ah, the long awaited return of the "Please Don't Skip This" thumbnail. This will be a good watch.
Finally got my friends to play this and they all love it. They're a stubborn lot, playing the same stuff over and over so this was refreshing
I’d love to hear your opinion about how the game is today. A lot has changed over the last couple of years
It is also quite interesting to see that in the years since this video was made, every problem he brought up has been fixed.
This is a phenomenal game that has grown and improved dramatically. ROCK AND STONE!
So this is going to be on ps plus games, im exited now
SU: "... the greatest movie in the history of cinema."
Me: "Die Hard."
SU: "You know the one I'm talking about, of course."
Me: "Of course I know, it's Die Hard."
SU: "Armageddon"
Me: "... ... ... ...
It has Bruce Willis in it, fair enough."
This game slaps so hard, I'm glad it's getting representation!!!
Anime tentacle cock slaps !!
You can usually hear the ground moving when bugs spawn near you. Thats your cue to turn around and shoot
i think skill up should take another look at the game its improved a lot since this review went live
this game is amazing, i will never forget going into a mission while my dwarf was drunk
